Zennor Area Guide

Zennor seems to have that mystical something that draws people to its romantic centre and keeps us all in love with it

The relaxed pace of life makes time move a little slower and things feel a little simpler in Zennor. The granite cottages, gorse lined footpaths, pink heather-covered moors and dramatic coastline makes Zennor and the south-west coast of Cornwall an ideal place to book an enriching self-catering holiday.

Breathe in the freshest of air (so pure lichen thrives here), relax and take in the rugged beauty of Zennor. Treat yourself to delicious local food and drink as well as a fabulous night's sleep after happy days discovering this most beautiful corner of West Cornwall.

We never get tired of exploring the beaches, roaming the countryside or walking the coastal paths, especially when it ends with a pint at The Tinner’s Arms in Zennor!

Within a short distance of Zennor, dreamy locations such as Mousehole, Porthcurno, St Ives, Marazion, Sennen and Land’s End offer a rich selection of places to eat and visit, things to do and generally instil a wonderful sense of well-being. South-west Cornwall has miles and miles of beaches and footpaths to explore either on foot or by bike and we highly recommend reading our guides when planning your holiday to Cornwall so as to visit all the best places for a magical holiday for all.

What others say about self-catering in Cornwall

Having used Orange Roofs before and being impressed Old Boswednack kept up the standards we previously experienced. Thoroughly recommend.

Thank you isn't enough to express how grateful and overjoyed we were with the help Sam and Charlie gave us with a very last minute booking. They were amazing, five stars is not enough. The cottage, 45 Back Road West, is a fantastic cottage in a great location and has everything you would need and we were very comfortable there for our New Year's break.

Very enjoyable time here again. Booking was extremely easy and efficient. Orange Roofs very well organised contacting us via email and through the app with all the information needed for our stay. We had to contact the office when we arrived with a query and Billie was very patient and helpful. The house was very clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The welcome pack with fresh flowers was a lovely touch. We will definitely return to Barnoon Villa.

We had such a fabulous stay at Artists Harbour. We were very lucky with the weather but that's not the whole story. We were a two couples sharing a holiday by the sea and catching up with old friends. It worked perfectly for that. Although we got the lovely attic room with the fantastic view over St Ives harbour our friends were perfectly happy with the delightful lower ground floor bedroom as they love baths rather than showers. And we would all wind down in the lounge and enjoy the twilight harbour views in the evening. We took our dog and she was happy in her crate in the bunk-bed room and loved the early morning runs across the beach just opposite. The cottage is in the ideal location - just off the harbour drag but really central to everything. The parking, although a 20 min trek up the hill, wasn't a problem as we hardly left St Ives. Our friends bought a weekly parking ticket online that worked well for them. We also thought Orange Roofs were brilliant too. Communication was great and there app was very handy. They were also really helpful when we lost one of the door keys - sorry again. It was such great week we may well be back. But can we order the sunshine again too! Many thanks. x

We loved this cottage. It was perfect in size, layout and functionality for 2 adults, a baby and a dog. The only thing stopping us immediately booking again is that it's on the main road, so you can't just walk out with the dog and buggy so wasn't ideal for our needs in that way, but will definitely be back in the future when the kid is older and easier to shove in a car! Lots of lovely walks nearby if just for you or with a dog though, we just couldn't get a buggy on the coastal walks! For dog owners - the garden is fully enclosed so no need to worry there, we felt perfectly safe letting out mad hound out in the garden unattended. The owners had left firewood for the extremely cosy fire and we used this several times and it really made our day on the more blustery wet days. Quite often you find places charge stupid amounts for this pleasure so this little touch was really appreciated! The team at Orange Roofs were also really helpful with any queries we had, and even went out their way to volunteer information of local events which was lovely of them (thanks Torrie!).
