Dog Friendly Beaches in Cornwall

For many of us, dogs are family – and the seaside wouldn’t be the same without them. Here are some top beaches where pups are welcome all year long:

Bamaluz (St Ives) – Unlike many other St Ives beaches, this small, tucked-away spot welcomes dogs all year round. Nestled between the harbour and Porthgwidden, it’s perfect for four-legged family members to splash and play freely.

Gwenver (Sennen) – This is a hidden gem for dog owners, with year-round dog access and a wild, unspoilt feel that’s perfect for long walks. Its expansive sandy stretch and rugged scenery make it a favourite for adventurous pups and their humans.

Perranporth – Famous for being home to the UK’s only bar on the beach, this spot is as dog-friendly as it gets. Dogs are welcome year-round, so you can sip a drink with your four-legged friend right on the sand, then explore miles of golden beach and rolling dunes.

Tip: If your dog loves a swim did you know Penzance’s Jubilee Pool holds an annual dog day at the end of the season? This year it’s planned for Sunday 2nd November – keep an eye on their socials for more.

Dog Friendly Treats in Cornwall

Cornwall is full of dog-friendly pubs, but some go the extra mile with irresistible canine delights on offer – from pup-friendly ice cream and afternoon tea to frothy ‘puppuccinos!’

The Old Success (Sennen) – Just a half-hour’s drive from St Ives, this dog-friendly gem is the perfect spot to pause and recharge after a refreshing coastal walk. Here, pups are treated like VIPs with tasty dog treats, and they can even enjoy a bottle of “Proper Dog” – their very own dog beer – while you relax with a pint by the sea.

The Fox & Hounds (Comford) – Given the name, it’s no surprise that at this country pub near Lanner, dogs are truly welcome, with their own menu allowing four-legged companions to dine alongside their owners. Dog beers, wines, ice creams, and treats are also available, along with two ‘Dog Bar’ water stations in the spacious beer gardens.

The Penventon (Redruth) – Here, dogs are welcome in the dedicated doggy dining areas, where they can enjoy a dish from their own Pooch Plates menu (!), promising dishes that are healthy, tasty, and packed with nutrients.

Dog Pampering in Cornwall

From sandy zoomies on the beach to muddy moorland adventures, Cornwall gives your pup plenty of chances to run wild and get a little scruffy. Luckily, there are some fantastic local groomers on hand to provide a bit of TLC and have them looking (and smelling) their best again.

Ruff Cuts Spa (St Ives) – Newly opened in 2025, they offer a range of services to help you sustainably spoil your pooch – from a post-beach shampoo and condition to nail trim, ear clean, or a relaxing paw and scalp massage finished with a spritz of organic fragrance!

The Dog Groomer (St Ives) – Tucked away in Cyril Noall Square, just off Fore Street, you’ll find a pampering spot for pups offering everything from a quick nail trim to the full works. Little luxuries like nose and paw balm, breath freshener, and even a blueberry facial make it a true doggy spa experience.

Canine Hair & Beauty (Camborne) – Located at Treswithian Downs just off the A30, this doggy pamper haven offers a full range of grooming services, complete with high-velocity dryers for the perfect finish. For that extra sparkle, they even provide gentle doggy teeth cleaning using an ultrasound toothbrush!

Of course, comfort should always come before style – with groomers guiding you on the most suitable services while keeping your dog’s health and happiness at the heart of everything.

Dog Exercise Parks in Cornwall

The Bark Park (Townshend) – Here, you can let your pup run wild in the 1.5-acre enclosed agility paddock, complete with fun play equipment for dogs of all abilities. Afterwards, you can treat yourself at the dog-friendly Big Green Shed café just next door.

Cornwall Canine Care (St Erth) – As well as offering a daily dog sitting service, you’ll find a fully enclosed dog field that’s ideal for safe, off-lead play and training – open every day of the week just outside of Hayle.

Ultimutt Dog Parks (St Erth) – At these private hire dog fields, your pooch can play safely in a fully enclosed space with 2m-high secure fencing. From digging in the sandpit to exploring tunnels or splashing through mud, there’s plenty to keep every type of dog entertained.
