About 15 The Digey

15 The Digey has recently been renovated to create a luxury apartment in St Ives for two. This beautiful coastal self-catering apartment is in the heart of St Ives and is within moments of beaches, restaurants, cafes, shops and galleries. 15 The Digey is located on one of the oldest streets in St Ives, giving you a true taste of living in a traditional fishing town. You’ll feel taken back in history as you stroll the cobbled streets of The Digey (pronounced Die-Gee). The location of the Digey means you are just a few minutes’ walk from the hustle and bustle of Fore Street, where there is a magnificent choice of shops, restaurants, galleries and coffee bars as well as Tarquin’s gin bar! The spectacular Porthmeor Beach is practically on your doorstep and a very pleasant stroll away, as are the other beaches of St Ives. The Tate Museum is just around the corner from this holiday apartment in St Ives so a perfect stop on the way to the beach to enjoy their fabulous art exhibitions followed by their Cornish cream teas with the best sea views ever! The owners of 15 The Digey kindly include 2 complimentary tickets to Tate St Ives so do give it a visit.

As you enter the *courtyard, which is a shared access area with other residents of the building just off The Digey, you will see your own private corner where the owners have created a cosy little corner for you suitable to sit at for a morning coffee or pre-evening cocktail. To enter the property from this point, you need to walk up an external flight of stairs to reach the front door, then once through the front door, you have a private set of steps before reaching your little bit of heaven. These stairs are moderately fair for you to negotiate with your luggage. As you reach the top, you'll step into the kitchen and living area with an interior finish that offers you a warm, luxurious and above all welcoming hug. To the left of the entrance, you'll find your double bedroom with super cosy bedding enveloping you into a snoozy embrace. The bedroom offers plenty of space and comfort for two guests to stay and enjoy, as well as a TV to be able to enjoy a late-night film or early morning news with some breakfast in bed. Whilst staying at 15 The Digey, you'll have a few in-house luxuries for the duration of your stay. These include bath robes, beach bags and a beach matt. Please note, as lovely as these items are, they must be left in the property on the day of your departure for others to enjoy.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a 5-ring gas hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine as well as plenty of kitchen utensils in order to be able to enjoy home-cooked meals for the duration of your stay. You also have a dining table that can easily seat two. This open plan area leads on to your living room with its ocean colour scheme complimenting your beachy surroundings throughout the town, some of which you have rooftop views of! You have sea glimpses of Porthmeor from one side and the St Ives harbour on the other. The living area is kitted out for your comfort, whether you're having a break from the sun or a day sheltering from the rain and cold with a toasty wood burner. You have free WiFi and a Smart TV for some visual entertainment.

Your closest restaurant to 15 The Digey is almost directly opposite you and it is called Source Kitchen featured in the recent Rick Stein 'Cornwall' series. This addition to The Digey has been warmly welcomed as they serve delicious breakfasts, lunch and dinner. We'd recommend booking a table there and taking a very short walk across the cobbled road to sit and enjoy a leisurely meal before deciding whether you want to hit the beach or the town! 15 The Digey does not come with parking, however, being centrally located means you are not too far from many of the car parks in St Ives. Your closest is Barnoon Long Stay Car Park which is approximately a 5 to 8-minute walk away, you're also able to purchase a weeklong ticket for this car park.
Porthmeor Beach, St Ives Harbour Beach, and Porthgwidden Beach are all within a few short minutes' walk from 15 The Digey as well as a handful of galleries such as The New Craftsman, Penwith Art Gallery, The Tate St Ives and Barbara Hepworth Museum. If you want a slice of luxury while learning to paint at St Ives School of Painting, the stroll takes no more than a minute to reach the school and Porthmeor beach while sipping your morning coffee bought from St Ives Bakery just moments down the cobbled lane of The Digey.

Please note: The sofa in the living room may sleep 1 extra person but by request only, please enquire with the Orange Roofs team.

To re-cap, 15 The Digey is a luxury self-catering apartment for couples in the heart of St Ives and is very close to St Ives' beaches, eateries and galleries. It has one bedroom and one bathroom.

*Access notice: 15 The Digey is accessed via a common and shared open courtyard which is accessed off The Digey under an archway. The front door to 15 The Digey is not on The Digey itself and so guests do need to walk via the courtyard to get to the apartment.

Just had the best stay at 15 The Digey! such a beautiful place to stay in the heart of St Ives. Everything you could want is on your door step and the place itself was super clean, with a lovely fireplace and kitchen area.

Thank you so much for the best week!

We had a wonderful stay at 15 The Digey in early September. It was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed for our holiday. It's super centrally located for the shops, the harbour beaches and bars. I would highly recommend 15 The Digey and the team who look after it. They were very helpful and super responsive to messages. The stairs are steep so toddlers and those with mobility issues may struggle (that didn't impact us), other than that you'll have a comfy stay - with plenty of hot water after a day on the beach and a lovely comfy bed it was the relaxing break we needed. Thanks Sam and the team

This was our 4th stay at 15 The Digey, location is perfect for everything you could want to do in St Ives. The cottage is perfect, the dual  aspect views are stunning. The cottage has everything you could need to make your holiday relaxing. Also, the team at OrangeRoofs are amazing, always respond and always super helpful. Big thank you to Victoria - the cottage was spotlessly clean when we arrived. We have had an amazing 2023 holiday.

Our second visit back to number 15 and we already can't wait to go for a third. The flat is so cosy and just beautifully done. The location couldn't be better and a lovely welcome pack. Can't recommend enough!

The booking process was easy and descriptions of rentals on the website were very comprehensive. Contact and information provided was great and fast. The check in process as well as all needed information handled through the Orangeroofs app was easy to use and provided all one needed in a single place. The apartment was exactly as advertised, there simply is nothing to add. The welcome items as well as the voucher as a cover for scaffolding that was still unexpectedly in place a great bonus. Having traveled in the UK frequently through multiple agencies this was the single best vacation rental experience we had. Thanks again for a great stay and we will definitely book again.

We stayed in 15 the Digey for the first time and were not disappointed. The recently refurbished apartment is spacious and bright giving you views both directions towards the harbour and Porthmeor beach. The apartment is open plan kitchen and living room with a comfy couch and dining area, with every kitchen utensils you could imagine provided. The apartment is ideally located right in the heart of St Ives but the street is quiet in the evenings putting you close enough to the shop and restaurants but also providing a quiet nights sleep. The owners have done a brilliant job on making this place very enjoyable to stay, so much so that we have already booked for next year and can't wait to be back.

Perfect place for 2 people to stay a week or a weekend, it's very relaxing. It is walking distance to the beaches and restaurants. The bubbles and scones were very welcome. I definitely would stay there if I come back to St Ives.

I have stayed with many companies in many places in St Ives over the past 30 years and seen the best and worst. This is definitely up in the top 20%. The location was ideal for us being on the Digey, although some might find the 3 sets of stairs to access the property awkward. We managed with a 4 month old but my parents struggles to visit due to accessibility. The property itself had everything we wanted and was warm throughout our stay. The notes left by the owners are delightful and helpful. We found a travel cot in the cupboard but had brought our own. We would happily stay again if there are only 3 of us. I can quite happily recommend the property. Finally, the service provided by Orange Roofs was superb with regular communication. Again, I'd happily use them to stay in St Ives.

Having had many holidays in St Ives over the years, this was our first time over Christmas and it exceeded our expectations. From the moment we entered 15 The Digey and asked the resident Alexa to play festive tunes we immediately felt welcomed, Christmassy and relaxed. The thoughtful surprise of a Christmas hamper and a decorated Christmas tree certainly added to this. The apartment was tastefully decorated, bright, warm and cheery. The kitchen well equipped with all you needed. Located centrally but still peaceful. Being able to hear the sea at Porthmeor during high tide a bonus, along with its roof top sea views whilst washing up! Only being a couple of minutes walk away from both Porthmeor and the Harbour Beach made the property ideal for dog owners. Orange Roofs, as ever, did not let us down with their services from booking to arrival. Even allowing us early entrance to the property as we were caught up in a "monsoon" and having to seek shelter from it in our car! Prosecco chilling in the fridge and a cream tea waiting for us really helped to start our holiday on a high, thank you.

The stay at The Digey was very enjoyable. There was a good deal of support from your team during the arrival stage and it was made clear that should we need anything or have any questions there would be support available. There were several welcoming notes left for guests which were a nice touch, and a generous welcoming pack.

There was a significant storm on our first night which fully tested the windows. There was a note suggesting that these sometimes needed packing to prevent droughts/ leaks etc and we also saw a note that the owner plans to replace them. This will undoubtedly make a big difference to comfort during the winter period. I would say however that the heating was efficient and we were able to stay warm during what was a cold weekend. We appreciated a bath as well as a shower!

There is building work being carried out next door, and It was somewhat awkward to negotiate the scaffolding to access the property, but we found the builders apologetic and approachable.

In all, a lovely stay - we would return. We actually forgot to write a message in the guest book.

Fell in love with this apartment from teh listing photos and it is absolutely beautiful in person. So light, bright and fresh with sunlight streaming un through the windows and beautiful sea views from both sides. It truly feels like a home away from home and we are both deeply saddened to have to say goodbye. Thank you for creating such a beautiful apartment - the mattress has been a massive hit - SO comfy! Possibly the best mattress we've slept on ever! If (and I am sure we will) we come back to St Ives, we will return to 15 The Digey in a heartbeat. Thank you for a lovely stay.

15 The Digey was really great, we were very happy with our stay there. Everything we needed was there and it had a happy, cosy feel to the place and the seagulls on the rooftops were very entertaining too!

15 The Digey is brilliantly located and handy for everything - shops restaurants galleries and beaches. The flat is extremely well presented but homely as well. We loved the views of the sea in two directions over the roofscape. Service from orange roofs was first class,, we appreciated the tip about ATMs and the welcoming scones! Only downside was the state of the communal yard which had some dog mess to negotiate. We would certainly use orange roofs again and recommend to our friends and we’d love to come back if we can.
