About 2 Harbour House
In light of the COVID-19 virus, we want to reassure you that this St Ives self-catering property is disinfected (hard surfaces and soft furnishings) after each guest stay. Please note that until we can resume normal service, check in time is 5pm and check out is 9am. If you want to come on holiday and have all of the comforts of a modern and exceptionally well equipped apartment; 2 Harbour House is the place to stay. Two bedrooms which can welcome two couples staying in king size beds or a family where one of the bedrooms can become a twin room, three bathrooms shared between four guests, two en-suite bathrooms for pure self-indulgence, soft and luxury bed linen, TVs in each of the rooms, a light and airy kitchen with cooking tools to entice the most budding of chefs and, to finish off, the living and dining space which could have jumped off the front cover of Coastal Home magazine. The owners have just added a cosy log-effect stove in the living room too; perfect for those autumn and winter getaways.
As you drive into St Ives, you will be hit by the extraordinarily beautiful sight of St Ives Bay. The harbour is embraced by two long piers where fisherman will land bountiful catches during the day. Within the emerald green harbour water, you will spot fish glistening in the sun and also our very own resident seal who has become quite a celebrity in his own right. Within the arms of the harbour, boats bob to the ebb and flow of the tide, organised boat trips come and go on a regular basis from giving those on board the wonderful perspective of St Ives from the sea. For the more active, Tassy Swallow (St Ives' female medal surfer) offers Stand-Up Paddle board lessons and hire. For those that want to sit and observe all of the activity in comfort, the harbour and Wharf front is lined with tea rooms offering Cornish cream teas, bistro restaurants and traditional Cornish pubs.
Having said that, all of this can be watched from the privacy and luxurious space of 2 Harbour House. Unadulterated views across the harbour, its beach and beyond along St Ives Bay coastline can be drunk in to your heart's content - morning, noon and night.
As the beach is a few sandy feet from the front door, folding chairs and beach essentials including bucket and spades have been thoughtfully provided. To remove the hassle of parking in St Ives, guests of 2 Harbour House can make use of an allocated parking space on a quiet residential cul-de-sac just an 8-minute walk away. The space is 2.66 metres wide and 4 metres long. Please note that whilst cars can overhang the length of the space on one end, all car wheels must be touching the parking area to avoid the risk of being ticketed.

We've stayed here before, and would return again. The apartment is very comfortable and clean. 3 bay window areas, 1 in the kitchen with 2 directors chairs, one where the dining table is, and one with a window seat. Plenty of space for 4. The main bedroom is lovely, with a shower over the bath. The bathroom in the second bedroom is small, but functional. The views of the harbour are stunning. Kitchen well equipped, though you may want to take your own cooking pots / pans if you plan to cook in a lot. When st ives is busy, you do here a fair amount of noise until the restaurants have closed down. That goes hand in hand with being in the hub of the town. We enjoy it, but if you want absolute peace and quiet, this apartment is not for you in high season. Probably not suitable for older people unless they can do stairs / slopes easily.

This is the second time we have stayed in Harbour House and once again we have had a wonderful time. Having a choice of bay windows to sit in to watch the world go by was magical, especially in the crazy days we are in at the moment. It also meant we enjoyed the more extreme weather as we could just sit inside and watch! The apartment is superb, with everything we need to enjoy self catering, and the luxury of almost a bathroom each. Orange Roofs were great, the communication was really good and they were helpful solving the one or two things that cropped up whilst we were there. Our highlight was dinner on the final night at Porthmeor Beach Cafe. The sunset disappeared in to a torrential rainstorm but the food and staff were fantastic.

From the moment I tried to book 2 Harbour House and it looked like the deposit hadn't gone through correctly on a Sunday , and getting a message from Sam to say don't worry , we had the booking , to the app with all the info we needed in one place , I cannot fault Orange Roofs . 2 Harbour House has the most amazing views from a choice of 3 bays to sit in . The apartment had everything we needed for the most wonderful week . Have rebooked for next year !
