About 3a Sea View Place

You would be very hard pressed to find such a perfect romantic retreat as this in St Ives. It is literally overlooking the sea (or beach when the tide is out) so, come rain or shine, you will enjoy the delights that 3a Sea View Place has to offer.

As it's a reverse level apartment over two floors, you would think that the best views are saved for the top floor. Well, we are sorry to declare that the views are equally captivating from the bedroom and the living area! The sea has this magical power that makes it change colour from one hour to the next. On a calm, hot day, you would be mistaken for being in the Maldives with it being emerald and clear. When it's slightly choppy it's the colour of a beautiful dark blue gemstone. When it's stormy, it's black and ominous looking but really quite spectacular from your front row seats.

The double bedroom has a Laura Ashley cream and brass bed with a pocket sprung mattress, antique French crystal wall lights, chandelier, feather duvet and pillows and crisp linen sheets, luxury white towels and a flat screen TV with DVD player. From the moment you wake up, draw the curtains and take it all in, you may well feel a sense of smugness of choosing the perfect place to stay in St Ives.

The kitchen doesn't disappoint either with views over to Smeaton's Pier and the harbour. It's also very practical with a mix of Alessi, Cath Kidston and Nigella Lawson accessories, a Belfast sink, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and small dining table that seats four. The Laura Ashley sofa doubles up to be a sofa bed, there is a flat screen TV and a beanbag to chill out on. If you want to bring along your own music, there is an iPod docking station and DAB radio too.

From a location stand point, you are between two main beaches; Porthgwidden and the harbour beach. The shops, grocery stores, delis, pubs, restaurants, galleries and activity providers are all within a short walking distance of your front door.

If you get stuck on where to go, there are maps and books to help inspire you. There is also an interesting range of local interest books alongside art books and novels to get stuck into!

My rental experience from beginning to end was straightforward and easy. Sam was helpful and answered all my logistical questions about traveling to St. Ives. I arrived late after almost 19 hours of travel to find an inviting a warm space. No detail was overlooked, the fresh dahlias on the table, the coffee and tea and even staples in the frig. The view from the bedroom watching the first light of day arrive was stunning. I loved the location of being downlong, it was quiet yet close to everything I needed. The small coffee shop on the corner has delicious scones and the Nutella mocha was my favorite. Hands down my favorite place to eat was Porthminster Kitchen, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. I tried all their offerings over my week there and was so delighted with the thoughtfulness of the staff and the love that goes into the food. I also overlooked adapters for my phone laptop and was helped by Ian at the phone store directly across from the food co-op. I will be back and be telling my friends, that St. Ives in the fall is breathtaking, perfect for long walks and was not crowded. Thank you, Orange Roofs, for hosting me and giving me back a piece of myself this week.

I chose 3a Sea View Place because I wanted to be as close to the sea as possible, and boy did it deliver - going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the waves every day was wonderful. I also enjoyed watching the sun rise from bed and seeing the fishing boats head out of the harbour. I used St. Ives as a base whilst I explored Cornwall from Tintagel to the Eden Project to Sennen Cove and really enjoyed coming back to a home from home each evening. The flat was very clean and comfortable, perfectly formed for one or two people. I feel lucky that I found such a little jewel with great views from all the windows and in a wonderful location.

The flat we stayed in was superb. Couldn’t have wished for anything better. Location was perfect. We didn’t use the car all week. Beautiful view, we were able to watch seals from the window. Perfect place. Thank you

When i first saw the pics of 3a on the website i thought very good camera with photo shop, how wrong i was. This apartment was stunning with good views from every window. The services in the apartment were very good and the place was spotless .The apartment is very close to town 2 mins to the pub and 5 mins back :). Island parking is easy when using the councils St ives group parking permit and be patient when waiting for a space. The food and drinks as you would expect were diet busting good. We had very good weather .Close enough to the beaches to nip for a quick dip with just your towel. Have a great time folks!

Stayed 3a Seaview Place St Ives. Fantastic location with briliant sea views. Very comforatble and well apponted apartment, great for a couple. Only down side of location ( and St Ives in general is the parking so do your homework first!) Would recomend Orange Roofs.

Just returned from St Ives and an amazing stay at Sea View Place. Absolutely amazed with the location, cleanliness and decor of this adorable flat. Great location for restaurants, walks to beaches, hikes over the coastal heads and great local shopping. The views are first class and we listened to waves every evening, and woke to stunning sun rises across the water. The flat is very well stocked and we were delighted by the scones and cream that were left for us. St Ives truly has that old fashioned English seaside feel. I would highly recommend this accommodation. Thank you Orange Roofs for keeping such a fine property.

We stayed at 3a Sea View for our mini-moon from the 3rd to 9th April 2016. The first thing we were struck by was the location as the apartment is situated right on the seafront, and it was lovely to listen to and watch the waves from the bedroom window. The apartment is also very close to the local amenities and it is a short walk to the bars and shops of St Ives. The apartment itself is just beautiful. Very cosy and tastefully decorated. The owners left us a welcome pack of chocolates, biscuits, milk and wine (!) which we thought was very thoughtful of them. We'd definitely stay at this property again and would recommend it to our friends and family

A beautifully presented apartment in the heart of St Ives close to all the shops and restaurants. The apartment's sea views were absolutely incredible. We had a lovely welcome pack of scones, clotted cream and jam - a perfect start to our holiday. Can't recommend it enough!!

A lovely apartment in a superb location with beautiful views. It is tastefully furnished with some nice homely touches. We had a cream tea waiting for us on our arrival which was very tasty. Although only a short walk to all the shops and restaurants it was quiet and peaceful. Wonderful to look out of the window to see seals swimming in the sea. Would recommend it to others and would revisit.

This apartment was just stunning - beautiful modern interior with a spectacular sea view. It felt like pure luxury. Is right in the centre of St Ives and there are 4 other beaches literally on your doorstep. St Ives is a lovely town with some wonderful bars and restaurants. We particularly liked the Firehouse Bar & Grill which did great food and cocktails. We wish we could have spent more time in the apartment (almost felt guilty leaving it each day as so nice!) but we had a packed itinerary because we hadn't been to Cornwall before and wanted to explore all nearby towns/beaches. We managed to park in the nearest long stay car park (Island) most days but sometimes had to wait for a space and one evening there were no spaces so had to go elsewhere. We imagine in the Summer it would be a nightmare to park. Costs £7.50 for 24hrs. Unfortunately due to the narrow streets of St Ives that's just the way it is! Well worth a stay here, we definitely recommend and hope to return

Stunning apartment, never have I stayed anywhere that is so incredibly clean. The views are incredible, dolphins put in an appearance from our bedroom window on the last night to complete the great sights. Everywhere in St Ives is a 10 minute walk; as is the best restaurant I have ever eaten at 'The Hidden Kitchen' and without intending to sound to pompous I have been lucky enough to eat in some top top class restaurants. We arrived to a gift pack of Prossecco, Scones and Cream. We left to the sound of waves from the bedroom windows. The apartment is situated with a 5 minute walk of a couple of fantastic little quite beaches and 10 minutes from the bigger beaches. Will be back and would recommend to anybody

We have just returned home from our stay in 3a seaview in St. Ives. We did write in the guest book, but I just wanted to say that we had such a lovely time. We stayed in St. Ives for our honeymoon and the apartment was perfect, we loved looking through the books on the book shelf and had quite a few meals 'at home' and it really did start feeling like home. We also saw porpoises, seals, gannets and lots of other amazing wildlife from outside our bedroom window, aswell as enjoying watching the 2 gull chicks which were on a nest on the balcony below. Thank you for making it a lovely stay and if we return to St. Ives, we will definitely stay there again.

We cannot fault this beautiful apartment. It was spotlessly clean on arrival and has everything you need for a great stay. It is superb for a romantic break and laying in bed listening to the sea crashing on the rocks is just heavenly. I still have today here and I will savour every last minute of this fabulous place.

Not enough words to describe this little Gem. My husband, myself and my 17 year old daughter stayed for 5 nights and had the most amazing time. The property was spotless and lovely welcome pack of a cream tea there for rival. It is equipped with everything you need and is so close to the Harbourside and shops / restaurants /beaches, you really don't need to venture far at all. We loved everything about it but especially the views, which were stunning. We ordered a couple of hampers from lisa at sandy toes. Local produce all really high quality stuff and there for our arrival. Perfect amount for 3 of us and we enjoyed a bbq on the beach with the BBQ hamper and a lovely cooked breakfast. Will definitely be returning (just the 2 of us next time). Thank you for a wonderful stay.
