About Artists Harbour

Artists Harbour is just 50m from the soft sand and clear blue sea of St Ives Harbour beach, this wonderful St Ives cottage is a luxury, dog-friendly holiday home by the beach for couples or families. Staying at Artists Harbour will give you sea views, close proximity to the beaches of St Ives and all the shops and restaurants too, allocated parking for one car and you are also welcome to bring along your dog!

It has three bedrooms with the master super king bedroom having an ensuite shower room and incredible sea views to wake up to. The bunk room has an ensuite loo and washbasin and the lower floor super king-size bedroom (please note the bed is super king in width as it is two 3ft single beds that are joined together so can be requested on booking to be a twin room) is on the same floor as the bathroom that has a bath with shower over. This exciting St Ives holiday cottage along the harbour is set over 4 floors and, as you get to the top floor, the views become more panoramic and the light divinely unique. You enter the house on the first floor as granite steps lead up from Victoria Place. Enter into the kitchen and dining room adorned with original artwork, stripped wooden floors and calming colours to soothe you into the coastal holiday mood.

The kitchen has an undercounter fridge and an undercounter freezer, free standing electric stoves oven with hob, washer/ dryer and coffee machine. There are stairs that lead down to the ground floor super king bedroom (which can be split into twin beds) and the bathroom. There is also a backdoor entrance where sandy bodies can be washed down outside before bringing the beach indoors!

The staircase leads up to the second floor living room and this is where the views of the harbour become clearer and evermore inviting. The living room is decorated to compliment the age and character of the house but invite the coastal colours in; offering a restful and comfortable area to kick back, relax and listen to the sounds of St Ives harbour as it passes by. On this same floor, there is the bunk room with its own ensuite wash basin and loo.

Finally, you ascend to the top floor super king size bedroom that is so dreamy! Sink into bed and just drift away with the simply beautiful views beyond your bedroom window. It has its own ensuite shower room and with all the bedrooms and bathrooms, bed linen is provided along with fluffy white towels.

If surfing is your thing, Porthmeor beach is just a few minutes' walk away so don your wetsuit, grab your board and within minutes you will be catching your first wave. If watching your loved ones surf is the better option then Porthmeor beach café is the ideal place to sit and take in the views over a superb cup of coffee with a slab of cake or perhaps something chilled with olives! St Ives harbour is literally moments from Artists Harbour so the choice of shops, restaurants, galleries and delis are all within easy reach. A 5 minute stroll past the Lifeboat Station takes you towards the cool, calm waters of Porthminster beach where little ones can safely paddle in the sheltered clear blue sea. You can try your hand at kayaking or stand-up paddle boarding from Porthminster beach as the sea is mostly super serene. If you feel peckish on that side of town, you also have Porthminster beach café offering good coffee, cool drinks and ice-cream!

The allocated parking space for Artists Harbour is at St Ives Rugby Club which is approximately a 20 minute uphill walk to the parking space but you can pull up (if there is room and someone stays with the car) on Island Square or on the Wharf, unload your bags and then park your car. The walk may feel a big uphill for those not used to hills. During the peak weeks, there is a shuttle bus that runs from in front of the Tate to your parking space every 30 minutes and costs around £1.50. We appreciate it may be slightly more of a walk than a public car park (which are very busy during school holidays and between June to September)  but the owners kindly wish to provide a guaranteed and free parking space for their guests during their stay.

Up to two well-behaved and well-mannered dogs are very welcome at Artists Harbour, all we ask is that you let us know the age and breeds of your dogs (even their name so we can make friends with them too!). We also ask you to travel with their crate (if they are used to one) and dog beds and towels so they make themselves at home just as much as you. Remember they aren't allowed upstairs or on furniture in their holiday home even if they're allowed at home!

To re-cap, this holiday cottage in St Ives has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, it is pet-friendly and offers an allocated parking space at St Ives Rugby Club. It is a traditional St Ives cottage with exposed granite walls to allow them to breath. It has wonderful sea views across the harbour and is within easy walking distance of all St Ives shops, restaurants, coffee and cocktail bars and galleries.

Fantastic property split across four levels and easily big enough for 6 people. Well decorated and maintained and in great condition. Well located in the hub of the island. A great service too from the Orange Roofs team who made the whole process very straight forward. Thanks to all.

Fantastic stay at Artists Harbour! Set back from the harbour, accessed by short foot path. Beautiful harbour views from the living room and bedroom on top floor which is flooded with light. The house is over 4 floors which suited us for peace and privacy. Position perfect for Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beaches. The house was clean and bright and beautifully decorated. Car parking space at the rugby club worked well. With a shuttle bus every 15 minutes between the car park and Porthmeor Beach. Lovely holiday.

Fantastic house in a superb location. Amazing views from lounge and bedroom. Comfortably furnished and well equipped. Steep, narrow stairs would be the only drawback for some but I'd expect that would be similar in most older properties in the area

Artist Harbour has amazing views of the harbour from the top 2 floors. The attic bedroom is very light and airy. The location is perfect, close to the beaches, shops and restaurants but tucked away so it isn't noisy. We had no problem stopping on the Wharf to load and unload at the beginning and end of the holiday. The accommodation had everything we needed and was suitable for the 3 couples in our party (the bunk beds were large enough for young adults). The kitchen has washing machine and a dishwasher. Having loos near all 3 bedrooms was convenient. There is low-level lighting on the narrow, turning stairs which was helpful.

Found the stairs a bit steep, but the overall accommodation was great distance from the beach was great, not too far to walk. Although there was free parking at the rugby club was a bit of a pain to keep getting to it, as buses don't start until after ten.

Lovely and clean,Very comfortable,Ideal for a family only negative that I can think of is that the stair gates didn't seem to have the fittings but as we had bought one of our own we were ok .We would be happy to recommend Artist Harbour to anyone.Thank you for a lovely holiday

This is the second time we have stayed at the Artists Harbour in St Ives. Once again, the process from start to finish in terms of booking, check-in, duration of our stay and check-out was effortless. We didn't need to speak to anyone once. The only difference between this time and our stay last time is that this time we felt as if we were coming home!! Apart from being ideally located, Artists Harbour is spotlessly clean and houses all the amenities required for any holiday. Wifi is excellent and the TV comes with built-in Netflix and Amazon prime - not that this was a priority for us but certainly worth remembering if you have children. We look forward to our 3rd return next year!

We always book with Orange Roofs when we stay in St Ives as we know we won't have to worry about anything from the booking process to the quality of the accommodation. We have stayed in several of their properties over the years and they are all very stylish and well equipped. Artist's Harbour was no different and had the added bonus of lovely views over the harbour which could be enjoyed from the attic bedroom and the sitting room. The sitting room and kitchen/dining room are very spacious and comfortable, as is the ground-floor bedroom. The attic bedroom has a fantastic view but the sloping ceilings restrict hanging space for clothes so we used the ground floor bedroom as well, just for storage. The attic bathroom is tiny so we used the ground floor bathroom as well as the bedroom. It took a while to remember where we had left things so there was a lot of running up and down the stairs between the four floors but I think that helped to deal with all the calories we'd consumed at the many excellent local restaurants!

We could not ask for a better place to use a the base for our Cornwall holiday. Close to the harbour with fantastic views and easy access to stores and restaurant the Artists Harbour was perfect for our needs. We would absolutely book this place again.

We had such a fabulous stay at Artists Harbour. We were very lucky with the weather but that's not the whole story. We were a two couples sharing a holiday by the sea and catching up with old friends. It worked perfectly for that. Although we got the lovely attic room with the fantastic view over St Ives harbour our friends were perfectly happy with the delightful lower ground floor bedroom as they love baths rather than showers. And we would all wind down in the lounge and enjoy the twilight harbour views in the evening. We took our dog and she was happy in her crate in the bunk-bed room and loved the early morning runs across the beach just opposite. The cottage is in the ideal location - just off the harbour drag but really central to everything. The parking, although a 20 min trek up the hill, wasn't a problem as we hardly left St Ives. Our friends bought a weekly parking ticket online that worked well for them. We also thought Orange Roofs were brilliant too. Communication was great and there app was very handy. They were also really helpful when we lost one of the door keys - sorry again. It was such great week we may well be back. But can we order the sunshine again too! Many thanks. x

Artists Harbour is such a lovely house close to the harbour and shops/restaurants. Well equipped and lovely views. From booking Orange Roofs have been brilliantly keeping us informed about everything. Nothing was an issue to them. We had such a lovely break

The location is very central just a few steps to the picturesque harbour. The accommodation was nice and comfortable ( beds especially) . Parking is a bit of an issue but it's the same for everyone staying in the centre. We will definitely return to St Ives it's so beautiful.

Artists Harbour is in a lovely location with fabulous views. We had a wonderful week. The Orange Roofs team could not have been more helpful before, during and after our stay. We can't wait to return....

Orange roofs were tremendously helpful from beginning to end from directions and instructions to restaurant recommendations. Instructions for arrival and departure were detailed and made our experience easy. Parking is difficult in at ives but, again, orange roofs did all they could to make this as easy as possible offering the owners space nearby and a space at the rugby club. We used the latter, quite a walk away but we didn't need a car at all from the beginning to the end of the holiday because at ives has all you need and so we just forgot about the car. The house itself is located just off the harbour so perfect for access to shops, restaurants, beaches and activities. It is dog friendly so perfect for us and our working cocker spaniel. If you find walking difficult it is quite a hill with luggage and up a couple of flights but that's st ives generally and it didn't deter us at all. The height gives you the fabulous views from the second and third floor over the harbour. So it's well worth it. The house is well stocked with everything you need and has lovely fresh white linen plus we had a small starter pack with milk, bread, eggs etc. The basics but a good start for the first mornings breakfast. The only negative comment (and I'm being a bit picky here) is that the blinds could do with a repair/changing as they are a little tired but I guess that's constant sea air for you. We went at the end of the season so the whole house would have had a full season of visitors and use. All in all would throughly recommend the property and orange roofs as a company to book with. We will certainly be back! Emma
