If you are looking for a property that has parking, is in the heart of St Ives, in Downalong, is moments from Porthmeor beach, sleeps 6, accepts a pet and is generally a place where you can kick back, relax and feel at ease then Boslowen (meaning happy home) is the place to stay.
Through the front door off Porthmeor Road, you enter into a small hallway where there is a bedroom to sleep a teenager or adult in a 4ft small double bed. Head up the stairs to the next level of bedrooms. There is a king size bedroom with a small en-suite shower, wash basin and WC. Next door to the king size room is a bedroom with triple cabin bunks - a fantastically fun place for little ones with great imagination! On the same floor is the family bathroom with bath and shower over, wash basin and WC.
Take the next flight of steps up to the open plan kitchen, dining and living area with a gas wood burner (perfect for making winter evenings a cosy affair) and three sash windows allowing plenty of light into the room. Enjoy sitting on the window seats perched above Porthmeor Road while the sun streams in or, for a view over rooftops to Porthmeor Beach and Clodgy Head take the wooden steps to the mezzanine level and gain a bird's eye view of what fun is being had on the beach below. If you want to separate quiet reading space from the rest of the family, head up to the top floor, enjoy the views and tranquility away from it all.
The parking space is directly below the house in a covered area and will fit a family sized car (in the photo gallery, the Orange Roofs' long wheel base VW Caddy van is parked in the space). Please note the covered area is shared with one other car and so, if two large cars are parked, the area may be a squeeze.
Boslowen is just seconds from Porthmeor Beach which is a surf paradise, Porthgwidden Beach which is family friendly being slightly more sheltered and Bamaluz beach which is dog-friendly all year round. Being so close to Porthmeor beach, there is no need for shoes if you want to pad along with your beach gear and body boards! The harbour front is less than a 2 minutes' walk away as is the heart of St Ives' cobbled shop-lined Fore Street. The choice of bars, restaurants and Cornish pubs are also numerous and all within a couple of minutes' walk.
