Kitchen & Dining

The bright and spacious kitchen is designed to be both practical and sociable, with patio doors opening directly onto the enclosed rear courtyard.

It is fully equipped for a self-catering stay, with a hob, oven, dishwasher, washer-dryer, fridge-freezer and coffee machine.

A bespoke dining bench and table provide a relaxed setting for breakfast, lunch or evening meals, while a small dedicated area gives dogs their own comfortable spot for food bowls and bedding.

Natural light fills the space throughout the day, creating a warm and welcoming heart to the cottage.

Living

Birdbank Cottage has two separate living spaces, giving guests plenty of room to relax.

Beside the kitchen is a light sitting room with a two-seater sofa and two occasional chairs. It is a sociable space for enjoying a morning coffee or evening drink while still being close to the kitchen and dining area.

At the rear of the cottage is a cosy snug with a fireplace, providing a comfortable retreat for reading, relaxing or watching a favourite film.

Having two living areas is particularly useful for families or friends sharing the cottage.

Bedrooms

Birdbank Cottage has two bedrooms arranged across the first and top floors, both enjoying lovely sea views.

On the first floor is a king-size bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom. From here, guests can enjoy views towards the sea and the evening sunsets.

The top-floor bedroom can be arranged as either two single beds or joined together to create a super king-size bed in width. The length remains that of a standard single bed.

Both bedrooms have hanging space, while the top-floor room also has bespoke storage for suitcases.

Bathrooms

The cottage has two bathrooms.

The first-floor king-size bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower over, wash basin and WC.

Also on the first floor is a separate shower room with a large walk-in shower, wash basin and WC. The shower offers both a rainfall shower head and handheld attachment, with natural light entering from above.

Outdoor Space

At the rear of the cottage is an enclosed private courtyard with bench seating.

A warm outdoor shower is also provided, making it ideal for rinsing sandy feet, children, wetsuits or dogs after returning from the beach.

The courtyard can be accessed directly from the kitchen, creating a useful extension of the living space during warmer weather.

Parking

Birdbank Cottage has the significant advantage of private parking directly outside.

The generous allocated space is suitable for one larger vehicle. Depending on their size, two small cars may also fit within the designated area.

Guests travelling with more than one vehicle should check dimensions carefully before arrival to ensure both cars fit entirely within the allocated space.

An EV Charger is also available from the parking space.

Dog-Friendly

Up to two well-behaved small to medium adult dogs are welcome, weighing no more than 18kg each.

The enclosed courtyard and warm outdoor shower are particularly useful for guests returning from beach and coastal walks with dogs.

Guests bringing a dog should provide their own dog bed, towels and throws, and dogs must be well behaved and well mannered within the cottage.

Close to Beach

Birdbank Cottage is exceptionally well positioned for enjoying the beaches of St Ives.

Porthgwidden Beach is approximately thirty seconds' walk from the cottage, while Porthmeor Beach is only around a minute further away.

St Ives Harbour can also be reached within a couple of minutes on foot via a relatively level route.

Restaurants, cafés, galleries, shops, traditional pubs, cocktail bars and boat trips are all within easy walking distance, making it possible to enjoy most of St Ives without using the car.

Access

Birdbank Cottage is arranged over three floors with internal staircases throughout.

The kitchen, dining area and two living spaces are on the ground floor. The king-size bedroom, en-suite bathroom and separate shower room are on the first floor, while the flexible twin or super king-size bedroom is on the top floor.

Guests should therefore be comfortable using stairs during their stay.
