About Birdbank Cottage

Birdbank Cottage is a most beautiful example of a luxury, dog-friendly St Ives cottage. It is in Carncrows Street which, if it were on a Monopoly board, would mean Mayfair! It’s the most sought-after location for St Ives holidays. It is sandwiched between Porthgwidden and Porthmeor Beach and St Ives Harbour. Anywhere within St Ives is within an easy (and very scenic) stroll. This incredibly beautiful holiday cottage in St Ives is not only dog-friendly, it has sea views and offers a generous parking space right outside the cottage. Birdbank Cottage has been renovated with such care and attention, it could easily be within the pages of The English Home. It has two bedrooms; a king size bedroom with en-suite and a super-king (in width) or twin bedroom on the top floor. Both bedrooms offer dreamy sea views! There is also a separate shower room with a rain head shower. Every single detail shouts luxury and the greatest of thought. The kitchen and dining area has light flooding in which leads through to the sitting room. There is an additional snug type living room so there will never be an argument over who watches what. This remarkable St Ives cottage is perfect for two couples sharing, a romantic couple wanting a luxurious St Ives break or a small family of four.

From the moment you step into Birdbank Cottage, you will drop your bags and simply relax in the knowledge, you've booked a special place for a most perfect St Ives holiday. The kitchen is open and airy with patio doors that open up onto an enclosed courtyard with bench seating. There is a warm outdoor shower to wash yourself, the children and the dog off before going inside. A bespoke bench with table makes a sociable setting for breakfast through to dinner. The kitchen is fully-equipped with a hob, oven, dishwasher, washer dryer, fridge/ freezer and coffee machine. There is even a small area perfect for dogs to eat their meals and curl up with their favourite toy. A sitting room is next to the kitchen with a two-seater sofa and two occasional chairs. It's meant for relaxing with a cup of tea or a glass of wine while still being social with the budding chefs in the kitchen. The snug at the back of the cottage offers a cosy zone to light a fire, curl up and read a book or stick on your favourite film.

The first flight of stairs takes you to the king size bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom. Sea views greet you in the morning and the most impressive sunsets will salute the end of a perfect St Ives day. The en-suite has a bath with shower over, wash basin and WC. Next door to the king size bedroom is the separate shower room. Luxury oozes out of its every corner. It has a large shower with natural daylight flooding in from above, a wash basin and WC. The shower offers either a rainforest experience or a hand held wand for washing. The next flight of stairs via an exquisite hallway showcasing traditional features of this St Ives cottage, takes you to the bedroom that can either be configured as twin beds or as a super king bed (in width only, the length is the same as a standard 3ft single bed). The craftsmanship of the staircase alone will blow you away. This room provides a calm, serene and soothing ambience with sea views. Each bedroom has hanging space for clothes and the top floor bedroom has bespoke storage for suitcases to be stored away out of sight.

Outside the cottage is a generous parking space for one large car or, if two smaller cars are traveling together, they will fit snugly within the designated space. A very short walk (quite literally 30 seconds!) takes guests to Porthgwidden Beach with its Gastro Beach Cafe serving breakfast through to dinner. An extra minute means you'll be sinking your toes into Porthmeor Beach in front of The Tate St Ives. Porthmeor Beach has a restaurant and cafe as well as it's home to St Ives Surf School. St Ives Harbour is a relatively level walk from Birdbank Cottage and is just a couple of minutes away. The huge selection of shops, restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, traditional pubs, cocktail bars and boat trip organisers are all within super easy reach of this fabulous holiday cottage.

One small to medium dog (weighing 18kgs or less) is very welcome to stay at Birdbank Cottage. We regret we do not accept puppies under 1 year old and your dog must be very well trained and respectful of furniture and doors! A dog fee (£50 per stay) and rules apply so please refer to our Booking Conditions.

To re-cap: Birdbank Cottage is a luxury two bedroom, two bathroom, dog friendly holiday cottage in St Ives with parking and sea views. Your dog must weigh no more than 18kgs and must be well-mannered and clean. The cottage does not provide a high chair or travel cot but these can be hired locally so please request details on booking. There is a generous parking space for 1 larger 4x4 car or 2 small cars (shorter cars such as small hatchbacks). Towels and bed linen is provided, we ask you pack your own beach towels, dog throws and dog towels.

We,ve been visiting St Ives for nearly 30 years and have stayed at some lovely cottages, though I have to say with the combination of quality of finish, space, location and parking, this is probably the best. What a lovely renovation. We look forward to visiting again next year.

An absolutely beautiful, comfortable cottage. We really didn't want to leave. Everything you could want or need ( plus a tonne of stuff you didn't know you needed til it was there ). We have stayed in many St Ives houses, this is now my favorite

We had a wonderful time at Birdbank Cottage it is ideally situated and the property itself was spotless with all the amenities we needed for a week's getaway over Christmas We have stayed in numerous properties within St Ives and all of our party were of the opinion that this has been the best, we will be booking to come back

Birdbath Cottage is easily the best accommodation we have visited in thirty five years of staying in St Ives. The quality of all aspects of the property is unsurpassed. The Christmas decor is stunning and so tasteful, we did not expect it and it was greatly appreciated. Having said all that, and we are sure the owner must have a reason, the only thing missing was a microwave oven. Pete and Sue and Maggie the dog.

Management comment: THank you for your wonderful feedback Sue, the owner is buying and installing a microwave this festive period in readiness for 2025. They want to buy the right one to fit.

Everything was flawless! From the initial finding Orange Roofs on Google, to the website, the contact with the staff then Birdbank Cottage.....what an absolute gem of a place. In exactly where you want in St Ives. Near all the beaches, shops restaurants and sites to see. The standard is above excellent, and would recommend Orange Roofs and any property they manage to friends and relatives.

What a find! We loved staying at Birdbank and have already booked for next year. The house is like the Tardis, there is so much room due to the clever layout and recent refurb. We've been coming to St Ives for many years and not experienced a house in Downalong with so much space in the bedrooms and kitchen ... and TWO car parking spaces outside the house! It's lovely and highly recommended.

Birdbank is a place to come & kick back, tarry awhile & rest. Such an ace house in the very best of locations. Super cool with fine furnishings, but it's more than that. Real thought has gone into making Birdbank work seamlessly. We loved it.
