An ideally situated house for the beach and to go into St Ives itself for pubs and shops. A spacious house with a lovely open plan kitchen / dining room so great if you cooking/entertaining with family / friends. Master bedroom is spacious with lovely super king bed. Added bonus of a small backyard with shower ; handy for coming in off the beach or if you have dogs.

The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped with everything you could possibly need for your holiday. It really felt like a home from home. Just a very short walk to the beach which is perfect for families and surfers to enjoy. We even saw a beautiful seal there one afternoon! The cottage is very close to restaurants and shops in the town. We visited St Nicholas Chapel on the hill which is just a five minute walk away, the views from up there are breathtaking. The cottage has a little courtyard area with outside shower which was really useful. The cottage is a perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy the best of Cornwall. We hope to return again next year. Billie and Sam at Orange Roofs were very helpful with advice about anything we needed, nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend both Orange Roofs and this cottage.

An excellent property for our family, very spacious and everything was to a high specification. The outside space was especially useful and we enjoyed having our morning coffee chatting to passers by on the bench at the front. All the bedrooms were really spacious and the mattresses were just perfect - we all slept really well. Overall a great family home to use for a holiday which is well located for the beach and shops.

Thank you Orange Roofs for your excellent communication throughout. You were extremely thorough in giving us all the information as clearly as possible. Thank you also for the starter pack - milk ( for that much needed cuppa on arrival ) fudge and Prosecco! The house suited all our needs, it was very comfortable and well stocked. It was so convenient for everything - the beaches, the local store, the shops etc. Sadly, we didn't realise that all the restaurants, bars and pubs would be booked for weeks in advance but we compensated by having takeaways on the beach watching the sunset. We have stayed in St.Ives many times but this was by far our best find and we would love to return. Thank you!

1Porthmeor was perfect for our family, close to the beach and town. The house was clean and very well equipped. Bedding and towels were beautifully clean and the outside shower made coming from the beach so much easier. The team at Orange Roofs were great, helping us to arrange parking, keeping us up to date in relation to Covid 19 restrictions within the town and also making sure we had all the details in relation to check in times etc. The only downside were the seagulls, very noisy, they don't appear to need any sleep!! Looking forward to going back next year.

We stayed in 1 porthmeor Rd cottage for a week . And from booking to leaving we had nothing but great communications with Sam and the team. The cottage was a stone's throw from Porthmeor surfing beach which is a beautiful beach and has fabulous sunsets. Also a couple of minutes walk from the wharf, the town and porthgwidden beach. The cottage was bright spacious and spotlessly clean. And had everything in it we needed for a perfect weeks stay.also great that the dog was also welcome and the bonus of Bamaluz dog beach just a few minutes walk away Thanks Orange Roofs we cannot fault you. Highly recommend you x

We really liked the location of 1 porthmeor, it was just what we were after, along with the facilities and layout. We were also pleasantly surprised by the care that orangeroofs took to help ensure we continued to have a nice holiday after an unfortunate incident. (which doesn't need to be discussed in this review) Finally we wish the owner well with the planned changes to the top floor, it should enhance an already pleasant property.

1 Porthmeor Road was an excellent property, very well equipped and cosy. It is in a great location, close to the beach and shops. The property was clean and the heating was on so it was lovely and warm when we arrived. The welcome hamper was much appreciated too. We had a brilliant Chrismas holiday, thank you Orange Roofs! Would highly recommend.

The house is best equiped and cosy and very close to Porthmeor Beach, which is faboulos for the whole family. Shops and fine resaurants are nearby, the Tate too. My family (my husband, three sons of 14, 12 and 9 and I) enjoyed our stay very much and found everything we needed and more. Support and communication with Sam Shepard was always nice and best prepared. We travelled by train, which was easy and comfortable as well. If we ever return, what I hope, we would love to stay at the same house again.

Had a wonderful time in St Ives and it was a good base from which to explore the surrounding area. The house was a comfortable retreat after the joys of negotiating the narrow streets and trying to find a parking spot! (We were warned). Easy walk to beaches, galleries and restaurants. Would certainly stay here again if I get a chance to return to this part of the world.

The property is in a great spot just behind Porthmeor Beach and there is an entrance to the beach around 40 or so paces from the front door. You're also well located for the main part of St Ives (Fore Street) the Harbour and Porthgwidden Beach. The house itself is comfortable and well equipped, it also has a handy outside shower for washing off the sand after long lazy days on the beach (although you have to go through the house to get to the backyard). The yard is enclosed which also provides a great spot for drying wetsuit's and storing surf or body boards etc. Booking with Orange Roofs was really easy and I'd recommend the property and Orange Roofs if you're looking for somewhere to stay in St Ives.

1 Porthmeor Road is a super holiday property. Spacious and nice furnishings. Well equipped with everything you will need on holiday. The location is superb. Seconds away from the fabulous Porthmeor beach and minutes from the harbour, Portgwidden and the town. Our dog loved being able to run straight on to the beach. We were there in February but the house was lovely and warm. The wood burner is great feature although we did not need it as we had fantastic weather. Great restaurants and shops nearby. We had great breakfast and lunch at the Porthmeor beach cafe.

From the moment we arrived at 1 Porthmeor Road we felt at home. Beautifully decorated, comfortable and fitted to a high modern standard, we had everything we needed for a week away from it all. Perfect location near Porthmeor Beach we literally slung the wetsuits on and hit the beach- the outside tap was very useful for a post surf session hose down and the outside area great for drying off the suits (with a warm outside shower!). We could amble into the harbour area and we were central for everything. The little touches of detail were also nice to receive- there was a bottle of Prosecco waiting, some lovely tea and coffee, dishwasher tabs, toilets rolls, cloths, etc. that meant we didn't need to dash out immediately to buy things. We could ease into our holiday and unwind. The information provided to us during the booking was invaluable and the attention to detail through this entire experience was fabulous- I can't rate this company enough. We will definitely be back and it's no surpirse No.1 Porthmeor is already booked for next October half term!

Stayed here for long weekend to celebrated my Fathers birthday. The house was in such a great condition literally 5 minutes from the harbour with all the shops and 30 seconds from Porthmeor beach. The house was perfect with open plan downstairs which was great for all the family to be sociable. Fantastic outside space with outdoor shower which was great to store surf boards. We brought our little one( 1 years old) and were provided a great high chair and travel cot so very useful!! Look forward to booking the place again.

A great property. This is second year we have stayed here and I have already booked for next year. It was lovely and clean on arrival Which we all appreciated as some places aren’t. So well equipped with dish washer and tumble dryer both making it an easy holiday and essential when you have soggy clothes or towels from beach or rain! Great that the outdoor shower is now hot too. Only real quibble is the carving knife is too blunt to deal with st ives bakery bread ! Thanks.

We had the best holidays ever staying at this house. It’s a stone throw to the beach and we , with our four kids (14, 12, 10 & 5) had a brilliant week with Porthmeor beach as our playground. The house was immaculately clean when we arrived and it had absolutely everything we needed for a self catering holiday. I’d say it was the best equipped house we ever stay in. The TV and WIFI was super for down time especially after busy beach days. Highly recommend this property and hopefully when we will return to St Ives, this house will be available.

Great cottage & great location, we shall definitely be back. Perfect cottage for 4 adults, 2 children & the dog. Rooms are very big and beds comfortable. One of the best cottages we have stayed in for comfort, space & location. There is plenty of space in all the bedrooms for a travel cot. Service from Orange Roofs was great start to finish. Needed to contact Sam a few times due to pipes freezing (it was a very cold & snowy week). She was great at keeping us updated and super helpful, can’t recommend them enough.

Absolutely loved this cottage. In the twenty years we have been visiting St Ives two or three times a year, this is the nicest we have stayed in. Loved the location, the decor, the convenience of parking and the town. Ideal for dog walking. And proper beds, I have frequently gone home with back ache after staying for a week in some of the properties. Amazing weather all week!!

Really lovely cottage. I echo everything the previous reviewer said. Location for Porthmeor Beach is fantastic, especially when you have a super-excited spaniel with you! You are also only a couple of moments away from the harbour and town so you get the best of everything. The cottage is lovely, really well designed clean and has everything you need. Our party consisted of four adults, a toddler and a dog and we had more than enough space, it would easily accommodate six adults comfortably. We have visited St Ives many times and will definitely be staying here again.

A FANTASTIC cottage in the heart of St Ives. Very clean on arrival and easy to keep clean and sand free from our dog. The beach is 30 seconds away. Great little courtyard for pets or smokers. The beds are really comfy and the bedrooms spacious. Bathroom beautiful and downstairs, the kitchen is stunning, We have been been coming to Cornwall for a long time and know it well but never in St Ives. The cottage is a real GEM and will be back next year.

Gorgeous kid and dog friendly house, great location by the beach and harbour but tucked away. Lovely fittings, bedding and attention to detail - plenty of space as well. We went for a pre-Christmas break and it was warm and cosy in the house with empty beaches and plenty of sunshine and welcoming pubs and cafes. Even parking was fine! Brilliant service from Orange Roofs. Will return next winter.
