Hidden Gem is a stylish dog-friendly holiday cottage in central St Ives, just moments from the harbour and within easy walking distance of Porthminster Beach. Sleeping up to five guests across two bedrooms, this boutique self-catering cottage has a contemporary family bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, a secure split-level garden with sea views, and private parking less than a minute away. Kitchen & Dining
A few steps lead from the living area into the bespoke kitchen and dining space.
The fitted kitchen is well equipped for self-catering stays and provides everything needed for preparing relaxed breakfasts, family meals or an evening dinner using fresh local produce.
Built-in wooden bench seating creates a welcoming dining area, while the stable door opens directly onto the garden, making it easy to move between indoor and outdoor spaces during warmer weather.
Living
The ground-floor living area is bright and comfortable, with solid oak flooring and a calm palette of whites, greys and tan leather furnishings. Enjoy cosy winter breaks with a wood burning stove.
The space has been carefully styled to feel both contemporary and welcoming, with comfortable seating and thoughtful decorative touches throughout.
A Smart speaker with Alexa is also provided, making it easy to enjoy music or radio during your stay.
Bedrooms
Hidden Gem has two bedrooms.
The principal bedroom has a king-size bed with a statement driftwood headboard and vintage-style bedside lighting.
A further couple of steps lead to the second bedroom, which has a double bed with a single bunk positioned above.
The upper bunk is suitable for children only and is accessed by a ladder.
Bathrooms
The family bathroom has a contemporary finish with a spacious walk-in wet-room-style shower and rainfall shower head, along with a wash basin and WC.
The generous shower space makes it particularly practical after days spent swimming, surfing or exploring the coast.
Outdoor Space
Hidden Gem has a secure and secluded split-level garden, offering a rare private outdoor space in central St Ives.
Immediately outside the kitchen is a sheltered area with a bistro table for alfresco meals or morning coffee.
An outdoor shower and traditional cast-iron bath provide a fun and practical place to rinse sandy children, wetsuits or dogs after a day at the beach.
Wooden steps lead to a raised terrace designed to make the most of views across St Ives Bay, Lambeth Walk, the harbour and surrounding rooftops.
Parking
One private parking space is provided less than a minute's walk from the cottage.
This is a significant advantage in central St Ives and allows guests to leave the car parked while exploring the town, harbour and beaches on foot.
Dog-Friendly
Up to two well-behaved small to medium adult dogs are welcome, weighing no more than 18kg each.
Guests bringing a dog should provide their own dog bed, towels and throws, and dogs must be well behaved and well mannered within the cottage and shared acccess areas.
The secure garden and outdoor washing facilities are particularly useful for guests returning from coastal walks or beach days with dogs.
Close to Beach
Hidden Gem is ideally positioned for exploring St Ives on foot.
St Ives Harbour and Harbour Beach are only moments away, while Porthminster Beach is also within easy walking distance.

Access
Hidden Gem is arranged across multiple internal levels.
The living area is on the ground floor, with a few steps leading up to the kitchen and dining area.
A central staircase leads to the principal bedroom, with further steps to the second bedroom.
The split-level garden also includes wooden steps leading to the raised terrace.
Guests should therefore be comfortable using stairs and changes in level during their stay.

Hidden Gem is exactly what the name implies. A fabulous little cottage with parking and in the heart of St Ives. Equipped and maintained to a hi standard this is one of the best maintained and furnished properties we've stayed in over the years. We've stayed two years on the go and are looking forward to our next visit!

A quiet retreat within easy reach of all amenities including the best ice cream shop. Comfortably furnished with all amenities provided. It was nice to have parking within easy reach. It was also nice to have some outdoor space. We requested a change of bedlinen mid stay which was accomplished without any problem.

Lovely little cottage, tucked away in a quiet area, but so close to the harbour and beaches, added benefit of a parking space and outdoor space too. We've stayed in st Ives many times over the years and we're happy with this cottage. Orange roof app and communication was excellent.

Great location, close to town and beaches. The property is unusual for St Ives, as it has an enclosed area for dogs - so useful for late at night! The downstairs is comfortable and functional, with dogs being very well catered for. Upstairs (bedrooms and shower room) have been finished to a very high standard, and were extremely comfortable. Downstairs for dogs and upstairs for humans - a really good mix. The kitchen was well-equipped and easy to use. This is a great property for dog owners.

Stayed at Hidden gem for a week. It was a beautifully presented
cottage, in a great location right at the bottom of a hill by the
harbour. We found the parking a bit stressful, when we arrived, as
the streets are very narrow, with cars waiting to get by, when we
were unloading the car. We then couldn't find instructo the car
park, as no signal on the phones. Once we got that sorted, are stay
was lovely. One draw back, the weather wasn't the best, so we spent
a lot of time in the cottage, and there was no out look at all.
Saying that, if you wanted a sea view, you would have to pay
considerably more. All in all, a great base for a st ives
holiday.

We had a lovely stay at hidden gem , on arrival we had scones , jam and clotted cream , tea bags , milk , coffee etc , which was a really nice touch waiting for us , everything you need is there for a wonderful stay , beautiful cozy cottage in a great location right next to the sea , a 2 minute walk to the high street and centre of St Ives , beds were so comfortable , bathroom was so clean , great shower , overall we had a wonderful time , we are looking to go back next year already , would highly recommend

Wonderful cottage, great location close to beaches, bars and shops. It was great to have a parking space and an outside area. The orangeroofs team were excellent highly recommend. I will be booking Hidden Gem again for next year.

We had a lovely week at hidden gem. A very nice cottage in a great location and with parking conveniently close (which is a rarity in St Ives). Nicely appointed and perfect for a group of 4. The outside back area was also sweet (though we didn't really have the weather to enjoy it). Orange Roofs were efficient and all worked well logistically. Happily would recommend it.

Hidden gem is wonderfully situated close to the centre of St Ives with easy walking distance of the whole town. The dedicated car parking space is nearby with access from the main road into St Ives. The cottage itself is delightful, comfortable with everything you need. We loved staying there.

We had a really wonderful stay at Hidden Gem. Really family friendly and beautiful interior. A minutes walk from centre of St Ives. I also really appreciated all the products left to use throughout the week which was so useful for a family staying for 7 days. The garden is a real bonus too. We would love to book again!

Lovely cottage, high end furnishings, they have thought about everything! Great location for the town and beach. Back gate less than 5 minutes to beach and a doggie bath in the enclosed garden, perfect for our dog. Nice welcome pack and spotlessly clean throughout.

We absolutely loved staying at Hidden Gem. Considering you are in the heart of St Ives, 5 mins walk to the harbour, restaurants, pubs, beach, the cottage is incredibly quiet. Very clean, tidy and cosy for our winter visit. Perfect for a young family of 4 (bunk beds). Parking was a huge bonus despite it being a few mins up the road. We would definitely book this very convenient cottage again.

We have stayed at Hidden Gem a few times; it's perfect for us! Being so close to the beaches and restaurants plus having a garden (so rare in St Ives) is just brilliant for the dogs. We all love it! Our latest stay was extra special with a parking space located a very short walk from the cottage and is literally just above the garden wall - it was the icing on the cake for us. We will definitely book to stay again!
