About 15 The Digey
*04.05.22 Please note, there is temporary scaffolding throughout the whole of The Digey Courtyard for a building at the rear of the courtyard. This slightly covers the entrance to 15 The Digey. This description will be updated as and when in can be*
Want to live the traditional St Ives way but in modern day luxury? 15 The Digey is located on one of the oldest streets in the heart of town, giving you a true taste of living in traditional fishing town. You’ll feel taken back in history as you stroll the cobbled streets to reach the courtyard just off the Digey, where you’ll find number 15 – your home for the week! The location of the Digey perfectly situates you just a few minutes’ walk from the hustle bustle of Fore Street, where many shops and restaurants are located and in the other direction you have the glorious Porthmeor Beach almost on your doorstep and, a very pleasant stroll away, the other beaches of St Ives.
As you enter the shared courtyard, you will see your own
private corner where the owners have created a small oasis for you,
so that you're able to sit and peacefully enjoy your morning coffee
or an evening drink. To enter the property from this point, you
need to walk up an external flight of stairs to reach the front
door, then once through the front door, you have an internal flight
of stairs before reaching your little bit of heaven. These stairs
are moderately fair for you to negotiate with your luggage. As you
reach the top, you'll step into the kitchen and living area with an
interior finish that offers you a warm, luxurious and above all
welcoming hug. To the left of the entrance, you'll find your double
bedroom with super cosy bedding enveloping you into a snoozy
embrace. This room brings plenty of space and comfort for two
guests to stay and enjoy, as well as a TV to be able to enjoy a
late-night film or early morning news with some breakfast in
bed.
Whilst staying at 15 The Digey, you'll have a few in-house
luxuries for the duration of your stay. These include bath robes,
beach bags and a beach matt. Please note, as lovely as these
items are, they must be left in the property on the day of your
departure. Thank you.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a 5-ring gas hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine as well as plenty of kitchen utensils in order to be able to enjoy homecooked meals for the duration of your stay. You also have a dining table that can easily seat two. This open plan area also leads on to your living room with its ocean colour scheme complimenting your beachy surroundings throughout the town, some of which you have rooftop views of! You have sea glimpses of Porthmeor from one side and the St Ives harbour on the other. The living area is kitted out for your comfort, whether you're having a break from the sun or a day sheltering from the rain and cold with a toasty wood burner. You have free WiFi and a Smart TV for some visual entertainment.
Your closest restaurant to 15 The Digey is almost directly opposite you and it is called Source Kitchen featured in the recent Rick Stein 'Cornwall' series. This addition to The Digey has been warmly welcomed as they serve delicious breakfasts, lunch and dinner. We'd recommend booking a table there and taking a very short walk across the cobbled road to sit and enjoy a leisurely meal before deciding whether you want to hit the beach or the town!
15 The Digey does not come with parking, however, being centrally located means you are not too far from many of the car parks in St Ives. Your closest is Barnoon Long Stay Car Park which is approximately a 5 to 8-minute walk away, you're also able to purchase a weeklong ticket for this car park.
Porthmeor Beach, St Ives Harbour Beach, Porthgwidden Beach are all within a few short minutes' walk from 15 The Digey as well as a handful of galleries such as The New Craftsman, Penwith Art Gallery, The Tate St Ives (2 complimentary tickets for guests of 15 The Digey) and Barbara Hepworth Museum. If you want a slice of luxury while learning to paint at St Ives School of Painting, the stroll takes no more than a minute to reach the school and Porthmeor beach while sipping your morning coffee bought from St Ives Bakery just moments down the cobbled lane of The Digey.
Please note: The sofa in the living room may sleep 1 extra person but by request only, please enquire with the Orange Roofs team.

Perfect place for 2 people to stay a week or a weekend, it's very relaxing. It is walking distance to the beaches and restaurants. The bubbles and scones were very welcome. I definitely would stay there if I come back to St Ives.

The stay at The Digey was very enjoyable. There was a good
deal of support from your team during the arrival stage and it was
made clear that should we need anything or have any questions there
would be support available. There were several welcoming notes left
for guests which were a nice touch, and a generous welcoming
pack.
There was a significant storm on our first night which fully
tested the windows. There was a note suggesting that these
sometimes needed packing to prevent droughts/ leaks etc and we also
saw a note that the owner plans to replace them. This will
undoubtedly make a big difference to comfort during the winter
period. I would say however that the heating was efficient and we
were able to stay warm during what was a cold weekend. We
appreciated a bath as well as a shower!
There is building work being carried out next door, and It
was somewhat awkward to negotiate the scaffolding to access the
property, but we found the builders apologetic and
approachable.
In all, a lovely stay - we would return. We actually forgot
to write a message in the guest book.

Fell in love with this apartment from teh listing photos and it is absolutely beautiful in person. So light, bright and fresh with sunlight streaming un through the windows and beautiful sea views from both sides. It truly feels like a home away from home and we are both deeply saddened to have to say goodbye. Thank you for creating such a beautiful apartment - the mattress has been a massive hit - SO comfy! Possibly the best mattress we've slept on ever! If (and I am sure we will) we come back to St Ives, we will return to 15 The Digey in a heartbeat. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Come on the Night Riviera from London - definitely to be here on the middle of everything without a car. We loved this apartmnet, especially views to sea in opposite directions and decor is excellent, compatible and well-equipped. Really a delightful place to stay. Hope to be back.
