About Godrevy Flat

Godrevy Flat at Tremorna, Carbis Bay has so much to offer; extraordinary views particularly from the outside terrace and shared gardens, gorgeous high ceilings bathing the living area in light, a parking space (very notable during busy weeks!), walking distance to St Ives (just 15 minutes stroll to Porthminster beach) along the paved coast path and a very welcoming, if not inspiring for budding artists, atmosphere.

Once you descend the steps from the parking space, Godrevy Flat is all on one level. You walk into a hallway where the two bedrooms lead off; one king size and one twin. The king size room has lovely vaulted ceilings and a cotton fresh feel to it. The twin room is ideally suited to children but two adults would be equally comfortable in single beds.

The kitchen also has a high vaulted ceiling with plenty of space to move around. Off the kitchen is another small hallway where you will first find the bathroom with a bath, shower over, wash basin and loo.

The best room is perhaps saved until last; the living/ dining room is part of the original house and has a wonderful high ceiling with patio doors and floor to ceiling windows flooding the room in gorgeous sunlight. A huge comfy sofa makes this room a place to relax, read, watch TV or simply take in the views of the sea across the gardens.

From the shared garden you directly pick up the south west coastal path leading to Carbis Bay Beach in one direction and Porthminster beach and onto St Ives in the other. You have your own small paved area with bench seating just off the living area where you can enjoy the views and soak up some warm Cornish air.

Tremorna has housed and hosted some distinguished people since early 20th Century. An exceptionally generous-spirited lady called Frances Horne once owned the whole of Tremorna. She encouraged and supported many up-and-coming artists in St Ives in the early Twentieth Century, perhaps most notably as benefactor to Bernard Leach, enabling him to set up a pottery school in St Ives after learning his craft in Japan. Other great artists that she entertained at Tremorna and next door at Little Parc Owls were Adrian Stokes, Peter Lanyon and Julius Ollson.

The flat reflects the owner's interest in fine art, ceramics and textiles with most of the art work being original pieces by owner or collected over time. If this doesn't whet your artistic appetite then the sheer pleasure of overlooking a stunning seascape from this special location should! Mobile reception is good at Tremorna plus there is WiFi to make sure you stay connected with your friends and family. N.B. Christmas and New Year 2017 changeover day is Wednesday.

We recently enjoyed a great vacation at Godrevy flat - The house was great and the location was perfect - Just 15 mins walk into St ives (steep :)) and close to local ammenities. The house had everything we wanted and was extremely comfortable. Thanks!

This is the 1st time that the Young clan has stayed in this flat, though we have been coming to St Ives for over 20 years. We really enjoyed our stay and have booked again for next year. We love the quirkey lay out, and the view from the balcony is stunning. We are not at all ready to go back to Cheltenham and we will miss this lovely place, but already looking forward to next year.

Our 2nd stay at Godrevy Flat. We love the view, location to St Ives and Carbis Bay beach. Being walking distance to these places is such a bonus. The flat is comfortable, bright and clean and very well equipped. I'm sure we will be back.

The accommodation is fine, the flat is well equipped, with a good location and good views. The only negatives were that the parking was difficult, on a slight slope in a narrow lane and between two other cars. We found that the easier way to get into the parking was to turn round and park facing up the slope, but turning around in the narrow lane was difficult. Access is down steps and a slope, which made getting cases and bags out of the flat and up to the car was hard work. Four stars rather than five purely on account of parking and access.

This has been the most perfect escape for us! The poem at the start of this book really says it all. There is no better place to stay than Godrevy Flat: from the lovely decor to the stunning view; we have loved every minute spent in this home from home. We leave tomorrow and I must confess I have never cried about leaving a holiday but today I felt quite sad at the prospect of packing up and going home! We will be back!

Such a beautiful, spacious apartment. We will definitely return. Also in the best location for coastal walks, just the most amazing views. We/I will have great memories in this apartment as I got ready in here for our wedding, which was on Friday 9th June 2017, just perfect. I have been to St Ives around 30 times, my second home. We loved staying here, definitely in my top 3 places to stay. Thank you!

The highlights for me were morning runs along the coast path, one way to St Uny church and the other into St Ives and beyond, followed by a peaceful yoga session on Carbis Bay beach and a swim in the sea. Can't think of a better way to start the day. Coming back to the flat to enjoy breakfast on the balcony over looking the glorious beaches below also made it extra special for me. The perfect location for a family re-union and a wonderful start to summer. Thank you.

Lovely views and great access to the beach and coastal path to St Ives. Very comfortable and cosy flat, modern and tasteful interior with great original art pieces on the wall. Comfortable beds and very high quality linen provided. Will definitely be returning!

Lovely apartment with everything catered for. Beautiful views from terrace and extremely peaceful. Loved our daily walks down into Carbis Bay and St Ives, it's been good to be so close to everything without being in the hustle and bustle (we stayed on St Ives harbour last year), we haven't really had to use the car at all! Some of our days out have included St Michael's Mount, Kynanace Cove and the Lizard, all worth a visit! You can walk to Lizard point along the coastal path from Kynanace Cove and do both in one day. We only had one evening meal away from the flat but decided to go to The Firehouse Bar and Grill on Fore Street in St Ives - would recommend a visit as long as you aren't vegetarian! We've had the best week in this beautiful apartment and the weather hasn't been too bad either (apart from one rainy day where we ended up playing 'unbelievable' - a great game!). We certainly don't want to be going home but I'm sure we will be back next year!

We have had a really great week here, and don't really want to leave! This is our first visit to Cornwall, and we have found it beautiful and welcoming, with lots to do for all the family. The beaches are fantastic in particular, and we loved the fact that you can walk to so many different ones from the flat. The flat itself is clean, beautifully decorated and very well equipped, and we felt very at home here. The view from the living room /dining area is wonderful. Although this was our first visit to Cornwall, it will not be our last!

What a lovely place to stay, peaceful, amazing views, very comfortable, great decor, would happily stay another week. We know Cornwall well and just can't stay away. Very much liked being close to St Ives without having to put up with the hustle and bustle all the time as we've stayed in St Ives a few times. Great having parking and not needing to use the car if we didn't want to. Loved the idea of being able to just sit and watch the ever changing coastline.

Godrevy Flat is one of the best flats in Cornwall, and best bit about St Ives is the spectacular views also the beach. Thank you very much for the well presented apartment, we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and truly felt like home away from home. The room views have been amazing and we will miss our stay in Godrevy Flat. We would happily recommend Godrevy Flat to friends and family as right from the initial contact to booking and answering our many questions your customer service has been exceptional. A testament to how convenient and comfortable we have felt during our stay our 2 boys (6 and 8) have given this flat a big thumbs up and will miss everything about Carbis Bay. Hope to be back soon!

We have had a wonderful restful week. The views are beautiful, even spotted dolphins in the bay. Ideally situated for St Ives and the coastal path. Lovely spacious flat with all the amenities. Hopefully we will return.

Had the most wonderful time at Godrevy Flat. The interior is beautifully done - clean, bright but still very homely. Stunning art work on display also. A particular highlight for us was watching the sun rise over the water from the balcony on our first morning here. The perfect place to get away and relax, even in the middle of winter. Many thanks for having us.

What an amazing base to use for a wonderful week in St Ives (Carbis Bay). Godrevy Flat is wonderful, and the view just couldn’t be better. Thank you for letting us use this marvellous home away from home. We have already recommended it to our friends and family. We will surely be back. We have certainly seen most of South Cornwall from Lands End to Newquay and Mousehole to Porthperran. Thank you again.
