About Gwithian Beach House

Gwithian is infamous for its miles of gorgeous sandy beach, its enticing surf, Godrevy Lighthouse and, if you’re lucky, a show-stopping performance from a pod of dolphins. Whether you choose to enjoy this on foot, on a surf board, wind surf or kite surf or even horse back, the location is undeniably spectacular whatever time of year you visit. Gwithian Beach House has all of this on its doorstep. A footpath leads you to a day full of beach fun while refreshments, hot showers and a place to come and snooze away the afternoon in privacy is moments away. The house is a contemporary beach house with a very warm, light and inviting welcome. With flushes of colour, white-washed walls, wooden underfloor heating and plenty of sunlight streaming through, you could be fooled in believing you’re abroad. The bi-fold doors from the kitchen means the house extends the living area onto the warm decking for alfresco dining or relaxing in the sun with a good book. Outside is a warm shower and an area to enjoy a BBQ with all the family. An enclosed garden means a holiday with your four-legged friend is most definitely worry-free and there are sun traps to gravitate to whatever time of day. If you want to stay out of the sun, there is a ‘casita’ to stay cool, read, play the piano or entertain the little ones.

Inside, the large kitchen table seats eight comfortably and the open plan area feels inclusive and very family-friendly. Well-equipped with dishwasher, fridge and freezer (extra fridge and freezer space along with washing machine and tumble drier in surf shed outside), induction hob, oven, grill and microwave, dining in is made easy. The living space encourages relaxation as does the mezzanine floor which has an extra place to chill out and gaze towards at sea through the high-level windows.

There are three bedrooms which are all on the ground floor. The master bedroom has a king size bed with an en suite wet room with wash basin and WC. Built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, French windows leading to the front and rear gardens and a mezzanine area offering sea glimpses through the Velux, with casual seating and fold-down ladder. The second bedroom has a double bed and hanging hooks for clothing, it looks out onto the front garden. Finally, there is a bunk room with a slight twist; the bottom bunk is a double bed and the top bunk is a single bed so Gwithian Beach House is perfect for three couples. The family bathroom is exquisite, it is flooded in beautiful natural light and has a bath tub, separate shower, WC and wash basin.

With free WiFi you can bring along gadgets galore to entertain the whole family plus a Smart TV in the living room means you can stay up to date with your favourite programmes.

To top off its characteristics, directly in front of the house are two parking spaces (just a note to mention, the track to the house is a bit bumpy and uneven so a sports car with low profile tyres may feel every bump!).

In the Surf Shed you will find beach gear to borrow courtesy of the owners; surf boards, body boards, beach breaks, chairs and beach games so, all that is left for you to do is have fun!

Smashing house, bang up to date, simple and nicely decorated. Fully and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed for a cosy Cornwall winter break. We loved the light and space, the rain shower was sublime, the beds & bedding comfy and our pooch could not get enough of the underfloor heating! We had every type of weather including torrential rain, warm sunshine, gale force winds and hailstones, but the Gwithian Beach House (Ar Mordros) offered the perfect haven after a soaking or blustery beach tromp. There is a massive voluptuous sofa (and plenty of alternative seating), a huge rustic dining table perfect for an indoor picnic spread, Efficient kitchen with great quality table wear & appliances (extra freezer & fridge in the outside room). Plenty of mezzanine areas with comfortable lounging furniture from which to gaze at picture perfect views, or just ponder... The little extras were very much appreciated. Wellies were a must during our stay - and we found two pairs in the store room that fitted perfectly! Gwithina Towans is a tiny hamlet. It's quirky with no two properties the same, from the beautiful & modern to the simple vintage style beach chalets. The beach is beautiful and dramatic - and you are on the sand in less than five minutes stunning walk across the dunes. Stock up less than 5 minutes drive away at Lidle or M&S food, or venture into Hayle for a large Asda, a great butchers, farm shop, bakeries etc. Eating out is easy, there are several dog friendly pubs with good food on offer. St Ives is fascinating, and in the winter, parking is plentiful. Summer visitors should try the train - its the prettiest journey ever! Lots of lovely shops both independent and quality high street brands, exquisite crafts, and you could eat somewhere different every day and never be bored. We have stayed at several places on Gwithian Towans, at different times of year, and this house is the best yet, especially for a winter break. Thanks!

Great house, great location and perfect for a dog friendly stay with a totally enclosed garden. The house was well equipped and welcome pack much appreciated especially the scones, jam and clotted cream. One very small negative the lead on the hairdryer not long enough to reach the mirror in the bathroom so on my next visit I will either bring my own mirror or my hairdryer that has a longer lead. Will definitely be staying again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It’s great for easy access to the beach. We spent most of the time relaxing at the house as the facilities were very good . There were lots of little touches that made the stay more special , from the fresh scones to the spare wellies Would definitely stay here again
