About Lantern Loft
Please note, in light of the COVID-19 virus, we want to reassure you that this St Ives self-catering property has an extremely thorough clean plus disinfection of hard surfaces and soft furnishings after each guest stay. Lantern Loft is perfectly placed to take in the most breath-taking views over St Ives harbour towards Smeaton's Pier and Godrevy Lighthouse as well as being right in the heart of St Ives. In the summer you can expect turquoise, calm seas; close enough for a morning dip before breakfast. With the tide out, the golden sand beach stretches from Lambeth Walk, directly outside the cottage, around Smeaton's Pier to Bamaluz beach which is great if coming with your four-legged friend as it is dog-friendly all year round. Porthminster beach is just a few minutes' stroll away with its calm, sheltered bathing area and well-known Porthminster beach cafe with quite exceptional food, drink and views to soak up at the same time. St Ives Fore Street is also just 100m from your front door so you have a great selection of shops from a well-stocked bookstore, jewellers, independent clothing to SeaSalt, Joules or Crew Clothing, fine dining to traditional Cornish pubs and of course bakeries selling delicious pasties and Cornish saffron buns. Convenience stores are also a few minutes away from Lantern Loft so you really want for nothing when on holiday here. Winter breaks are equally thrilling, with excited, wind swept seas, take your front row seats for spectacular views whilst tucked up in the warmth that Lantern Loft exudes.
You enter Lantern Loft from the street into the kitchen
which is well-equipped whether you are a couple or family staying.
It has a washer/ dryer, fridge and freezer as well as oven and hob
and a good amount of food preparation and cupboard space. A few
steps lead up into the living room where the views simply captivate
you. There is a chaise longue style sofa so it's easy to spend lazy
days watching the world go by and enjoying the changing seascape.
Just off the living room is a step up into the dining area with
table and four chairs and wall to wall shelves housing games, books
and binoculars. The living room has enough soft chairs for four
people to fully relax into around a TV/ DVD with SKY channels to
enjoy. Wooden stairs lead up from the kitchen to the master bedroom
which has a king size bed and en-suite WC with wash basin. Also off
the kitchen are steps down to the twin bedroom and family bathroom.
The bathroom has a bath and separate large shower as well as
Saniflow toilet and wash basin. The twin room has the flexibility
to be made into a king size bed also if two couples are
Whether arriving by train or car, St Ives train station with its 106 car parking spaces is a few minutes' walk away from the cottage or, if you prefer parking somewhere with more spaces, you can pull up within 20m of the cottage to unload and then head to either the leisure centre or St Ives Rugby Club where regular buses transport you back to your car when a day trip is calling.
