About Number 8 Salt
In light of the COVID-19 virus, we want to reassure you that this St Ives self-catering property is disinfected (hard surfaces and soft furnishings) after each guest stay. Please note that until we can resume normal service, check in time is 5.30pm and check out is 9am. Number 8 Salt blows you away from the moment you set foot through the front door. In fact, as soon as you drive through the electric security gates and into your two private parking spaces, you definitely get a sense of exclusivity. There is a shared outdoor shower to wash off the sand after a day full of fun and frolics plus your own locked cage where you can then hang your wetsuits to dry and put all of your beach toys from bucket and spades to body boards.
Once inside the main building lobby, you get the keys from
a key safe and grab the lift to the 2nd floor where Number 8 Salt
awaits you and all we can say is be prepared to be wowed! What
immediately hits you is the sense of space and style. No expense
has been spared in furnishing this elegant apartment to offer pure
luxury and comfort. Each room off the spacious hallway gives you a

The huge master bedroom has a super king size bed, a stylish wardrobe, a 39'' TV with Blu Ray DVD, the most incredible views and an equally spacious en-suite bathroom with shower, his and her wash basins, WC and complimentary luxury toiletries. The Blue Room has a king size bed, en-suite with shower room with more luxury toiletries plus patio doors that open out onto a sheltered patio with outdoor furniture (perfect place to take your morning coffee!). Finally, the twin bedroom is vast which also has patio doors leading to an area to sit out and take in the first day light. The twin room is next to the family bathroom with a bath, shower over, wash basin and WC. Underfloor heating throughout keeps the apartment a perfect temperature whatever the weather but feel free to adjust the thermostat if it gets too hot or you need to take the chill off slightly. A separate utility room houses the washer/ dryer and all other items you will need to stay ironed and clean. On top of this, it stores the electric BBQ that can be wheeled out to the balcony and plugged in using outside sockets ready for an evening of tantalising tastes of summer.
Now to the show stopping open plan living, dining and kitchen. The room boasts attractive pieces of furniture, a Bowers & Wilkinson Zepplin air sound system and a 55" inch Apple TV with Blu Ray DVD. Off the living area are two balconies; one with a dining set of table and 6 chairs for alfresco dining and the other has two tables and four chairs to relax and enjoy the stupendous views. Add to that, exceptionally comfortable sofas, super equipped kitchen from your waffle maker, Smarter coffee maker, electric hand blender right down to the Berndes roasting dish. The views from this room are extensive reaching across St Ives Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse and the dramatic coastline of Gwithian and Hayle Towans. The balcony is large with a dining set of six chairs and comfy cushions and, on relentlessly hot days, a parasol to offer shade and comfort.
The stroll down into the heart of St Ives town with its choice of eateries and cool places to sip a cocktail is 10 minutes at the most with Porthminster beach being your nearest place to bathe and choose from a selection of water sports such as kayaking, Stand Up Paddle boarding and snorkelling (less than 10 minutes walk away). If you prefer to surf, Porthmeor beach is a 20 minute stroll along the harbour front and through the town. Number 8 Salt offers you the chance to dip into the lively, buzzy town of St Ives yet retreat to the peace and quiet when you're ready to regroup your thoughts.
So to summarise, this special apartment offers you luxury, elegance, comfort, complimentary treats, stupendous views and the desire to want to live there!
Access - please note, there are stone steps that lead from the car park area to the apartment building front door with a lift that can takes wheelchair users and parents with push chairs to the main door. Please note that if there is an electrical failure meaning the lift is temporarlily out of action, there is an alternative route at the rear of the property but it does have two steps.

We stayed at Number 8 Salt for 8 nights with 2 couples with young babies and it was a perfect base for exploring Cornwall. Huge, modern apartment with stunning ocean views and everything you need - well equipped kitchen, washing, comfortable beds and 2 car parks. 10 minutes walk into the centre of St Ives and to a beautiful beach. Our stay at Number 8 Salt in St Ives couldn't have been better and would highly recommend it!
