About Old Boswednack
Old Boswednack is just a few minutes' drive or 15 minute flat walk from Zennor and if you fancied some fabulous food and drink at The Gurnard's Head it would take all of 5 minutes' walk across two fields! The beauty of Old Boswednack's location is that you are spoilt for choice for coastal walks along the South West Coastal Path or head to the moors and take in the historical charms of Bodrifty's Iron Age Round House settlement, Nine Maidens standing stones, Mên-an-Tol not to mention Lanyon Quoit, Mulfra Quoit and Chun Quoit. Old Boswednack is a delightful, beautifully furnished, single storey, barn conversion on the west coast of Cornwall. Due to its rural location the dark skies offer spectacular displays of stars and galaxies which means it is equally attractive by day or night.
It is a granite building which has been decorated using some wonderful reclaimed materials used to create a warm and welcoming charm in almost every room. There is an open plan living, dining and kitchen area offering a togetherness we all want when relaxing on holiday. In the heart of the room is a wood burner which takes the chill off any time of day as it's so easy to light with a free supply of logs available. It successfully creates a glowing warmth and coziness when all you want to do is watch a good film or read a book one evening.
There are two bedrooms where the king size bedroom has a small en-suite shower with wc and wash basin and looks out onto the garden. The twin room is at the other end of the house just off the living area with two single beds, bespoke made shelving and open wardrobe. The family bathroom is between both bedrooms with a bath and shower over, wash basin and wc plus the added luxury of a heated towel rail and charms of reclaimed wood used to create some character even in the bathroom. The house has electric central heating with radiators in all rooms.
With the Spring and Summer comes the desire to open up all the doors and enjoy the enclosed garden with its paved area, colourful and fragrant borders around a manicured lawn and the wildlife surrounding the small pond. Don't worry if you have a dog that would gleefuly dive into the pond, we provide a pond cover for those eventualities!
The 'Shack' is a wooden summer house which offers a contrast to the main house with subtle, calming tones designed to create a peaceful place to read, paint, do yoga, sew or simply snooze to the sounds of chirruping birds and buzzing bees. Inside you have a small kitchen area built with reclaimed pallets which has a fridge and mini freezer, a microwave, a kettle and a sink with hot and cold water. You also have a loo with wash basin so no need to nip to the main house!
This typical West Cornwall barn conversion is perfect for couples visiting the area with or without a dog and older families (accepting children from 8yrs and up) and short breaks are always welcome outside of busy school holiday weeks.
Please note, there is no phone reception at Old Boswednack so you will need to enable WiFi calling on your mobile phones. There is a landline provided for emergency calls only.

One of the best cottages we have stayed in! Love the open plan living area and also the summer house. Within walking distance of coaast path and driving distance of many interesting resorts. We had some rotten weather but were warm and cosy Used the summer house for painting and reading

Perfect setting, within easy walking of 2 lovely Pubs. Coastal walks were great and accommodation very comfortable. Sun somewhere in garden most of the time. Particularly liked the Shack

We'd originally booked Old Boswednack for a 3 day stay in March but had to cancel due to the Covid lockdown, so we were delighted to be able to get whole week in July instead The property was very clean and well presented and the garden areas were beautifully planted and had sun all through the day. Off street parking a real bonus. Location excellent for walking. Tinners Arms in Zennor 20 mins walk across the fields and the Gurnards Head likewise in the other direction but sadly it only opened the day we left. Orange roofs were great to deal with and they quickly sorted a failed light. We will return!
