About Rose Cottage

Rose Cottage is a luxury self-catering cottage located in the very heart of St Ives. A huge asset to this property is that you are just a few moments from everything the town has to offer; great surf, kayak or paddle boarding adventures, people watching while enjoying a Cornish cream tea, coastal shopping followed by delicious options for wining and dining or simply looking for that retreat away from a busy life elsewhere.

This beautiful holiday cottage is just a mere 25 metres from Fore Street, a hub of shops, galleries and independent stores. But, despite being in a very central location, this cottage is nestled on Rose Lane, which isn't well-trodden, so you truly get the best of both worlds, a central location with a feeling of privacy. Designed to offer a calm and relaxing holiday to a family of four, Rose Cottage is spread across four floors keeping hold of its cosy Cornish cottage feel whilst being thoughtfully furnished. The artwork on the walls is tastefully chosen to offer a serene environment encouraging peace, rest and relaxation.

There are two entrances for Rose Cottage, the first being your front door from Rose Lane and the second being just off an alleyway on Fore Street. As you enter the front door, you are welcomed by a couple of internal steps that lead you to the first-floor living room. Stylish sofas invite you to come in, kick your shoes off and flake out! Nicely decorated to warmly invite you to feel at home, there is a Smart TV and Blu Ray DVD player and a great selection of books and games too. The next entrance, from the alleyway in Fore Street, is best used after a long day at one of the many beaches that are right on your doorstep. Just next to this entrance is a shower (with hot water feed too!) which is brilliant for washing off the sand and sea salt before going into the cottage. There is also a handy, small washing line area for hanging wetsuits.

The lower entrance takes you into the very well-equipped kitchen. You'll find all you need for your self-catering stay, including a dining table that can comfortably seat up to 6 guests. There is a set of integrated appliances including a dishwasher and washer dryer, as well as fridge-freezer, hob, oven, microwave and toaster (all you need to cook up a storm) All plates, pots, pans and cutlery are there ready and waiting for you too and for a little added luxury, Rose Cottage has a coffee machine too!

The master bedroom and family bathroom are on the second floor. The master bedroom gives you a true sense of the authentic Cornish cottage with its stripped original floorboards. This room has a king size bed, clothes storage with both a wardrobe and chest of drawers and for those mornings you want to lounge around, there is a TV with Blu Ray DVD player. Please note, the duvets at Rose Cottage are feather and there are no alternatives. Therefore it may not be suitable for you if you have feather allergies.  The large family bathroom has a slipper bath, large shower with rainfall shower head, WC and wash basin. Finally, on the top floor, there are twin beds and rooftop views over to the harbour. It has hanging hooks for clothes as well as a TV with Blu Ray DVD player.

A huge benefit to booking Rose Cottage is having an allocated parking space available to you on Beach Road (a 5-8-minute walk away from the cottage) where you are free to visit the rest of amazing Cornwall without the worry of finding a parking space again in St Ives! Please note, the parking space is suitable for most cars but if you have a particularly long car, please check with us if it will fit before booking. You can offload your luggage first by pulling up in The Sloop Inn car park and walking to the cottage which is around 150m from the car park. This self-catering accommodation in St Ives is in a traffic-free zone and is just off The Digey so there will be footfall nearby.

The closest café and restaurant to Rose Cottage is Source Kitchen. This is a fairly new but much-loved addition to St Ives. They are open for delicious breakfasts, lunch and dinner as well as coffees, cakes and Cornish cream teas! They also have their very own deli with carefully selected Cornish produce, so be sure to pop in to top up your Cornish larder!

As mentioned, Rose Cottage is ideally located very close to the beaches as well as the centre of the town. It is a very short walk to the blue flag Porthmeor Beach, renowned for its great surf, fantastic beach side restaurant and takeaways. If that wasn't enough, within a few minutes walk from Rose Cottage, you will find Porthmeor Beach and Porthgwidden which are both white sand beaches with turquoise blue sea (there great spots for snorkelling safely too!). There are also plenty of facilities for the family including toilets, a takeaway and another beautiful beachside restaurant.

To re-cap, this very popular holiday cottage in St Ives is in the heart of the town and so is within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, galleries, coffee bars and pubs as well as all 5 of St Ives' beaches. It has two bedrooms and one bathroom; a king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom. There is an allocated parking space for one car on Beach Road.

It's my 5th stay at Rose Cottage so that should tell you how much I like this property. From the central location, the lovely furnishings and the amazing shower and bath. I always feel relaxed as soon as I step a foot through the door.

We stayed in the lovely Rose Cottage this summer, 2 fab weeks in the heart of St Ives. A very well appointed cottage, with everything you could need. Communications and booking was excellent through Orange Roofs, and good attention to detail. We are a family of 4, a teen and under 10, perfect for us, its quaint, with low roofs, but minutes from beaches, restaurants and shops, great to be in the heart of the town.

Beautiful cottage in a fabulous location. Just off The Digey minutes from all the beaches and harbour. The house is beautifully decorated throughout and the kitchen is incredibly well stocked for a family beach holiday. We absolutely loved staying here.

Surprisingly quiet with very comfortable beds. Right on the doorstep of everything St Ives has to offer. Our only negative comment was whilst the furniture looks fantastic, the sofa was not very comfortable for us. Generous parking space was a huge bonus, with great views of the beach.

Our stay at Rose Cottage in St Ives was all we hoped it would be! The location is central to everything and the cottage is beautiful, decorated to a high standard with everything you might need. Highly recommend. We found the orange roofs app extremely helpful. The app makes checking in and out very straightforward. The guides were great, especially the restaurant recommendations were spot on - again very helpful as a lot of times they say false positives.

A traditional 4 storey cottage in the heart of st. ives. Location is excellent just off Fore Street. The house was spotless and everything in excellent condition! The kitchen bright we'll equipped and a very pleasant room. Bedrooms light bright tastefully decorated and the views from the top twin are over the harbour. Bathroom large with a good size bath and shower. Towels large white fluffy tiles. Will definitely be back soon.

Very conveniently placed cottage. Everything we needed was there, clean and well decorated. Lots of stairs so not suitable for those with limited mobility.

We stayed at Rose Cottage for Christmas which was lovely. We arrived mid afternoon and so it was dark but the cottage was warm and welcoming with lamps on and even a little Christmas tree and other decorations dotted around. The cottage is tastefully decorated throughout with a very well stocked kitchen enabling us to cook easily though obviously there are loads of really great places to eat and drink in St Ives too. The welcoming tea, coffee, milk and bubbles were also a lovely touch. The cottage always felt comfortable, if there were any drawbacks at all they were few - that noise carries a great deal from the neighbours (just a hazard of old terraced cottages) and some might find the stairs a bit narrow and steep - we say characterful! The arrangement for the parking space took a little time to sort. We had, as requested, given our rough time of arrival, which we met, but there was then nobody around to show us where the space was and we had to disturb someone in the address given for the owner who then had to phone him for details!

Rose Cottage was the perfect accommodation for our family break. Plenty of room for two adults & two children, kitchen was very well equipped, comfortable lounge and bathroom was beautiful- bath tub was such a treat and the views from the upstairs was an added bonus! Rose Cottage is ideally situated in the centre of the town, just a few steps into the main street or onto the harbour front. Rose Cottage exceeded all of our expectations, it was immaculately presented and had everything that we needed for a comfortable family holiday in this special little town.

We stayed at Rose Cottage which is located in the centre of St. Ives. The cottage is absolutely beautiful. We booked direct with Orange Roofs and so glad we did as they were so helpful, friendly and professional from start to finish. The Orange Roofs App was superb and contained every bit of information needed. St.Ives is such a beautiful place to holiday. Thank you Orange Roofs, looking forward to booking with you again in the near future.

Rose Cottage is a beautiful destination, extremely well equipped, to the highest of standards. the beds are very comfortable and the views from the twin room are directly to the sea. It is worth bearing in mind that the staircase down to the kitchen is very steep and narrow and might cause a challenge to the less mobile. Location wise you wont beat Rose Cottage with its location centrally placed between St Ives beach & Porthmeor beach and with excellent range of shops restaurants and galleries nearby

Orange Roofs make booking a holiday in St Ives so easy - they provide you with lots of local information and can arrange food deliveries and give advice on local amenities and attractions to make your holiday a great experience. I found the app very helpful and Orange Roofs are in regular contact before and during your stay to make sure all is good Rose cottage was a beautifully appointed cottage with everything you could ever need for your stay in St Ives. It is situated in a quiet spot just 2 minutes from Porthmeor Beach the Harbour and the main shopping . Highly recommended.

Delightful cottage set over four storeys in the centre of town. Kitchen very well equipped and with handy back door leading down onto Fore Street. It was obvious that the owners have renovated this cottage with care and thought and it's position is fantastic. Everything worked as it should, and Orange Roofs communication was excellent from start to finish. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. The only thing to watch for would be the steep stairs between floors, which may not suit those with mobility issues.

We stayed at Rose Cottage in late February and loved it! It's a real home from home with all mod cons and yet successfully retains the feel of a cottage. The rooms are beautifully appointed and have been tastefully decorated with a seaside theme and the kitchen wants for nothing. The location of the cottage is perfect, access to the towns many bars, coffee shops and restaurants is never more than a few minutes walk, and not forgetting the beautiful beaches and the harbour. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend Rose Cottage. A big thankyou to Andrew and Kirsten for letting us share their beautiful holiday home.

We just spent a lovely week at the perfectly located Rose Cottage. There are short walks to the beaches at Porthmeor, Porthgwidden and the harbour etc.  as well all parts of the old town of St. Ives. The cottage is beautifully decorated and appointed throughout its three levels. The kitchen in particular has all the amenities you'd expect. Thoroughly recommended.
