About Rose Cottage
Please note, in light of the COVID-19 virus, we want to reassure you that this St Ives self-catering property has an extremely thorough clean plus disinfection of hard surfaces and soft furnishings after each guest stay. Rose Cottage is in the very heart of St Ives with quick and easy access to all of St Ives’ golden beaches, restaurants and delis, shops and its picturesque, much photographed harbour. The Digey Food Rooms is your ‘just around the corner’ shop selling lots of local goodies and Fore Street’s shops (dangerous to most people’s wallets!) is a mere 25m away. Staying in this delightful cottage means you are moments from all the joys that a St Ives’ holiday promises; great surf, kayak or paddle boarding adventures, people watching while enjoying a Cornish cream tea, coastal shopping followed by delicious options for wining and dining or simply looking for that retreat away from a busy life elsewhere.
Rose Cottage is a traditional St Ives cottage nestled in the heart of St Ives yet is on a quiet, not well-trodden lane. It has four floors and is furnished to offer a family of four a super warm welcome. Spacious, very well equipped and really comfortable, so much so that on some days it takes a little longer than usual to kick start and go…
There are two entrances to the cottage; the best one after a day on the beach is the stable door which is via a quaint alleyway off Fore Street. It takes you into the very well-equipped kitchen with dining table to seat six and integrated appliances such as dishwasher and washer/ dryer. Just next to this entrance is a shower (with hot water feed too!) which is brilliant for washing off the sand and sea salt before going into the cottage. There is also a handy, small washing line area for hanging wetsuits. The second door into the cottage is via Rose Lane and leads you into the first floor living room via a few internal steps. Soft and comfortable sofas invite you to come in, kick your shoes off and flake out! Nicely decorated to warmly invite you to feel at home, there is a Smart TV and Blu Ray DVD player and a great selection of books and games too.
The master bedroom and family bathroom is on the second floor with the bedroom having stripped original floorboards, king size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and TV with Blu Ray DVD player. The large family bathroom has a slipper bath, large shower with rainfall shower head, WC and wash basin. Finally, on the top floor, there are twin beds and rooftop views over to the harbour. It has hanging hooks for clothes as well as a TV with Blu Ray DVD player.
A huge benefit to booking Rose Cottage is having an allocated parking space available to you on Beach Road (a 5-8 minute walk away from the cottage) where you are free to visit the rest of amazing Cornwall without the worry of finding parking again in St Ives! For guests staying between November and March, the space is suitable for small to medium sized cars (such as Mini Clubman, Mercedes A class, Ford Focus). For guests staying from 1st April 2020 onwards, the space will be suitable for large cars such as 4x4's or VW Transporters.
A small tip, to help you when you are in St Ives, if you need to pronounce The Digey correctly..it's 'die-gee' rather than 'diggy' which we quite often hear!

We just spent a lovely week at the perfectly located Rose Cottage. There are short walks to the beaches at Porthmeor, Porthgwidden and the harbour etc. as well all parts of the old town of St. Ives. The cottage is beautifully decorated and appointed throughout its three levels. The kitchen in particular has all the amenities you'd expect. Thoroughly recommended.
