About Shirehorse Barn
In light of the COVID-19 virus, we want to reassure you that this St Ives self-catering property is disinfected (hard surfaces and soft furnishings) after each guest stay. Please note that until we can resume normal service, check in time is 5pm and check out is 9am. At Shirehorse Barn couples, friends or small families are given a very warm welcome. Inside the barn there is a spacious, open plan feel with the good-sized kitchen at one end of the room and the comfortable sofas and a wood burning stove for cosy evenings in at the other. Upstairs you may like to enjoy the countryside view from a small balcony facing over the garden.
It's location means that you can do as many day trips as
you have the energy for or you can retreat and relax in the comfort
of secluded countryside with little for company but perhaps a
pretty cud-chewing cow or butterflies. You can reach the Lizard
peninsula in a little less than 30 minutes, the nearest beach is
Porthleven (which part of is dog-friendly all year round) and the
nearest shops (supermarket size or small and local) are less than a
mile away in Helston. If you wanted to head over to the west side
and dip your toes into some of the clearest waters at Porthcurno
(before or after marvelling at the Minack theatre) or trying a
little retail and culinary delights in St Ives then you are never
more than 45 minutes from 'home'.
Shirehorse Barn has a south facing garden so gets the the sun for most of the day, so whether it's coffee, croissants and the morning paper, or wine with olives before dinner, enjoy the warmth as you sit on the large patio. We have made sure that the garden is completely fenced so you don't have to worry about small children wandering off from the boundaries unless of course they are accomplished climbers!
Please note, up to two small to medium size dogs welcome (pet fee and terms and conditions apply). There is an off-road track that runs from the lane to the barn conversion which is not tarmaced.
