About Smugglers Cottage
Please note, in light of the COVID-19 virus, we want to reassure you that this St Ives self-catering property has an extremely thorough clean plus disinfection of hard surfaces and soft furnishings after each guest stay. Smugglers Cottage couldn’t be better placed for couples or families fancying a beach holiday in St Ives. In fact, it is so brilliantly placed that you can arrive, dump your belongings and dart straight to the beach armed with buckets and spades! The beach is pretty much on your doorstep, so by the time you’ve walked to the front door you’ll still have sand between your toes.
Harbour Beach (the one on your doorstep) is sandy and
sheltered when the tide is out and, when the tide is in, it becomes
a playground for fishing boats, SUP boarding, swimming, and
sight-seeing boat trips as well as self-drive rib boats. The super
child friendly Porthgwidden Beach is just a 5 minute walk from the
cottage, and the surfer's (or aspiring surfer's) idea of heaven is
Porthmeor Beach which is just a few minutes' walk further through
the cobbled backstreets.
Smugglers is a typical and traditional St Ives cottage arranged over three floors with beautiful sea and beach views from both double bedrooms. Why not indulge yourself with a glass of wine, your book and the comfort of the window seat where a glance up will make you lose your page on many occasions! The kitchen and living room are both on the ground floor, the stairs that go up to the second floor lead to a wide landing area with space to hang your coats and tuck away the holiday luggage. On the same floor is the family bathroom and a double bedroom with en suite WC and basin, plus a bay window seat. Up another flight of wooden stairs to the third floor, you will find a twin bedroom (at the rear of the house) and another double bedroom with equally captivating sea and harbour views.
You could have an active or lazy holiday or mixture of both here. The nearest restaurant and the 14th century pub The Sloop Inn are within a minute's walk - easy rolling distance after having spoilt yourselves with great food and drink!
There's no need to come with the car as the train station is just a 10 minute walk away and taxis are constantly popping in and out of Old St Ives saving visitors' legs and arms from luggage lugging.
