About The Burrow
The Burrow is a studio apartment within the Rockcliff Court building. It is a perfect bolt hole for your stay during your time exploring St Ives, which isn’t too difficult to do when you are merely 100 meters from both Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beach. You can drop your bags and be there in seconds!
This cosy, self-catering studio apartment is finished to a high standard and can comfortably home two guests. It is a perfect spot for a romantic St Ives getaway. The Burrow is also dog friendly, however, due to the space being a studio apartment, it is only able to accept up to one small dog only.
As you enter the apartment, you will step down into your kitchen, living and sleeping area. The large sofa you see in front of you turns into a comfortable king-sized bed with a memory foam mattress. This is all done with a simple, single, pull out action, designed for minimal fuss but maximum comfort. It's a great way of optimising the space in this studio apartment. You'll find the bedding there for you whenever you're ready to setup the bed and get some rest, during the day, the bedding neatly fits into a trunk coffee table and the duvet fits nicely in the wardrobe - with plenty of space for your clothes too. Just opposite the sofa bed is a wall mounted TV/ DVD player so you can sit and enjoy a movie in bed, or some morning TV with a cup of coffee.
In front of the sofa bed is your fully equipped kitchen which makes for a very easy trip away. You have all you need to whip up a lovely homemade meal. There's an induction hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster, as well as crockery and cooking utensils to enable you to be fully self-sufficient. Whilst dining, if you don't' feel like curling up on the sofa with plates on laps, there is a neat side bar just tucked around the corner with some bar stools for you to perch on whilst enjoying your food.
Adjacent to the living area is The Burrow's spacious shower room. You have a large corner shower, wash basin, WC and an adjustable, heated, electric, towel rail. The living/ sleeping area is heated with a large wall-mounted thermostat radiator so when the sunny days are hot and long you can stay cool in The Burrow or it can be beautifully warm and cosy for two love birds wanting to cuddle in and nest away from St Ives' wintery weather.
As mentioned, a huge asset to this property is its location. Your closest beaches are Porthmeor and Porthgwidden, but you a no more than a ten-minute walk from the blue flag awarded Porthminster Beach. Another bonus? All of these beaches have beachside gastro bars and restaurants, so, if you're looking for a special occasion meal or just a treat, seeing as you're on holiday, you're perfectly located to reach them. However, if you were looking for somewhere with an outstanding view of the harbour, you're just a few minutes' walk from there too.
During the peak visitor months, there are seasonal dog beach bans on almost all of the beaches in St Ives, if you're visiting The Burrow during these months with your dog, there is a small beach in town called Bamaluz that is dog friendly all year round. The size of this beach is dramatically impacted by the tide times so make sure to check ahead before you go! If you're in need of a larger beach for your dog to run around on, Porthkidney Beach is just a ten-minute drive away from The Burrow.
If you're fancying a day trip away from St Ives, there are a few beautiful National Trust sites just a short walk away - St Michaels Mount, Godrevy, Porthcurno and Trengwainton Garden. The nearest golf course to Island Retreat is West Cornwall Golf Club in Lelant.
If you're coming as a larger family and wish to all stay within the same part of St Ives, Chapel Watch (sleep 4) and Island Retreat (sleep 6) also on our website and owned by the same owners as The Burrow are part of Rockcliff Court so you conveniently have your own space yet are within a minute of each other.

Great location. The burrow was clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed for a stay of a few days. The bathroom was particularly nice - modern and spacious. The WiFi works well. The bed is a really good size for a sofa bed, though not hugely comfortable (though sofa beds rarely are). It's a noisy spot what with the seagulls and also lots of holiday makers, but that's what you get for staying right in the centre of st ives and it's totally worth it. The orange roofs staff were really good on communication. Overall a good and comfortable stay, reasonably priced considering the location. Would stay there again.
