Restaurants with a view in St Ives

One of the many perks of being in St Ives is, almost anywhere you find yourself, you will have the joy of seeing either a glimpse of the sea over a Cornish cottage roof top or a panoramic landscape taking your breath away. Now, how better to enjoy this than whilst tucking into some exceptional food? Sea, sand, food and loved ones…these are our favourite things!

Porthmeor Beach Café

It may be obvious, but for us, some of the best ways to enjoy the view of the sea is to be as close as possible! Porthmeor Beach Café ticks that box.

Perched on the edge of the shore, Porthmeor Beach Café truly offers some of the most magical views. Not only can you hear the sea rolling up on the sand and spend a little time watching surfers in the evening, Porthmeor Beach is where the sun sets. If you time it right your dinner with a view can be enjoyed, even more, with a spectacular St Ives’ sunset.

Porthminster Café

Porthminster is another beautiful beach that boasts exquisite views of the rolling white sand and clear blue sea. So, of course, Porthminster Café has views that reflects this!

The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor dining that is again just a few metres from the sand being between your toes and although you may not be eating early enough in the morning to catch the sunrise on this beach, it certainly is one of the best morning sun spots. What can make it even better? A delicious breakfast at Porthminster Café!

Porthgwidden Beach Café

There’s no surprise here, Porthgwidden Beach is another special location for many. This small but sweet cove sits perfectly between Porthmeor and Bamaluz beach and, if you are in need of some serious vitamin sea whilst enjoying some wonderfully fresh sea food, Porthgwidden Beach Café is the spot for you!

If you’re sat in their outside area, you’ll be able to smell the fresh sea air from your very seat. Sat indoors? That’s no problem either, they have a large landscape window that makes you feel like you’re staring at a beautiful ocean view painting, but trust us, it’s the real thing!

Talay Thai

Talay Thai is a much-loved establishment located right on St Ives’ Harbour Front and the amazing food most certainly reflects the amazing views.

On a sunny day, light beams through their large glass windows, often open on a hot day! The sea is impossible to miss as soon as you walk in and it is simply the best spot to sit and watch the world go by. Even on those cloudier days, there’s nothing better than watching the moody clouds sit above the lighthouse.

Tate St Ives

If you’re looking for a bird’s eye of St Ives view whilst enjoying a traditional Cornish cream tea, the Tate Café on the very top floor of Tate St Ives is a pretty spectacular location!

You can either take the lift or the hike up the stairs to reach the very top floor, trust us, it is worth the hike! Here you can enjoy a light bite to eat and take in the breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean.
