Tate St Ives and A30 – Cornish news updates

Newsflash, good news for all!

Summer 2017 brings an end to some major works that have disrupted either travel to St Ives or a main reason to visit this gorgeous coastal harbour town.

Coming on self-catering holiday in St Ives and the West Cornwall has posed its challenges over the past 18 months and thank you for bearing with us.

If you’ve driven along the A30 across Bodmin Moor recently, you couldn’t fail to see the changes that have been taking place to turn the notorious bottleneck at Temple into a dual-carriageway.

The new dual carriageway, which includes three new bridges at Cardinham, Temple Tor and Preeze Cross, will be built by Summer 2017. The contractor on site Kier, have now confirmed that the contract is due to be completed by 13 July. Yippee, I hear you all say. Just in time for the school summer traffic to flow more freely.

Another big completion date we have all be looking forward to is The Tate St Ives reopening its original gallery from the 31st March with a new exhibition http://www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-st-ives/exhibition/studio-and-sea

The brand new gallery will be unveiled this Autumn; we all wait with much anticipation..
