About 20 Barnaloft
The sea views from this luxury two-storey Barnaloft, St Ives apartment could quite simply be off the glossy Condé Nast travel magazine! The exotic sea colours, the soft, golden sand of Porthmeor beach, the breath-taking sunsets, and St Nicholas Chapel on the Island as well as the stunning headland to the West are all there to enjoy from your living room or balcony. 20 Barnaloft has been finished to a very high standard with luxury touches throughout the apartment. Suitable as a romantic retreat, two couples sharing a holiday together or a small family, whatever your reason for holidaying in St Ives, you will absolutely love the quality of this two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment and, the sheer joy of waking up to the sounds of the sea every day will leave you feeling rejuvenated.
The moment you step through the front door, that’s when you know your holiday has truly started! The draw of the sea view will take you through the kitchen to the sliding doors onto the balcony where you will take that deep, long breath you will have been yearning for. Whether the tide is in or out, the spectacle on your doorstep will keep you rooted to the spot for many a happy hour. Porthmeor Beach is quite literally below your balcony at this luxury self-catering apartment in St Ives so we can guarantee the most stupendous sea views by day and the magic of the sound of the sea by night.
There is a king-size bedroom facing the rear of the apartment and a double bedroom which has a picture window from a mezzanine level gazing down onto Porthmeor beach. The designers of this apartment have cleverly fit two Villeroy & Boch shower rooms for guests; the first is on the ground floor level and a neat, space-saving wash basin and folding doors mean an en-suite could be added to the king-size room, so no one needs to wait for a shower after a long day on the beach. Each bedroom has a wardrobe, bedside tables, Smart TV and cooling fans for those hot, summer days. While the bedrooms have sumptuous carpets to step out of bed onto, the rest of the apartment has Amtico Barrel Oak Cotton flooring with rugs (which makes it easier to hoover up the sand!).
The Nolte kitchen has AEG appliances to make your St Ives holidays as easy as possible; washer dryer, Sensecook pyrolytic oven, combination microwave oven, integrated cooker hood, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer and Gessi designer tap. 20 Barnaloft also benefits from a Nespresso coffee machine, so you can soak up the wonderful ocean views over a good coffee. The Silestone quartz top finishes off the luxury touches of this kitchen and we are sure you will enjoy its space whether you are simply mixing your favourite tipples or making a romantic banquet! There is a round dining table that seats four and is best placed to enjoy the beach and sea views. There is a large Smart TV which is wall mounted with a Bose soundbar where you can Bluetooth your own music also. There are electric Rointe radiators throughout so you can have warmth at a touch of a button. The living room has a sofa and armchair plus there is an additional outdoor sofa for comfy lazing in the sun on the balcony.
This luxury Barnaloft apartment with incredible sea views is in the heart of St Ives and directly overlooks Porthmeor beach with its own private beach access. The apartment is elevated to enjoy the views, yet you almost feel like you can touch the sand. There are two flights of external stairs to reach the apartment and are accessed via a communal walkway. The management company takes huge pride in keeping the Barnaloft area immaculate and is a calm oasis amongst a busy, bustling St Ives. Porthmeor beach is accessed via a private door at Barnaloft so you can dip your toes in and out of the sea and be within moments of your apartment if you forget anything.
Parking for this apartment is on Westward Road which is just off Porthmeor Hill above Porthmeor Beach.
St Ives Harbour is a couple of minutes' walk away as is Fore Street which is where you will find restaurants, gift shops, galleries, ice-cream parlours, fudge shops, clothes shops, and an off-license, delis, coffee shops, bakeries and traditional Cornish pubs; something for everyone! St Ives has 5 beaches in all and so you will have a choice of which beach to visit depending on what activity you have planned. Porthmeor beach is best for surfing with St Ives Surf school ready to help hone your surfing skills for the week. Porthminster beach is best for kayaking and SUP boarding as is St Ives harbour. Porthgwidden and Bamaluz beaches are smaller and sheltered. All of them have soft, golden sand which you will just want to sink your toes into. Porthmeor, Porthminster and Porthgwidden all have beach cafes that serve delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinner so be sure to book your table well ahead of your stay!
Please note: the balcony has a comfortable sofa for lounging,
given its size for all out sprawling, it does take up a lot of the
balcony space (please see floor plan). To protect it from seagulls,
there is a large cover with instructions on how to use in the
Orange Roofs App. It is a large cover and requires sufficient
mobility.
** 26/11/24 - Please note due to Wales and West upgrading gas
pipes throughout St Ives, there will be road closures throughout
the town in January to early February. From 02/01/25 - 21/02/25
Fish Street and St Peters Street will be closed, from 06/01/25 -
21/02/25 Back Road East will be closed and from 27/01/25 - 21/02/25
Back Road West. However, this work can be delayed if there are any
unforeseen circumstances that occur. There will be a narrow
diversion route to allow access to Barnaloft. Please get in contact
with a member of the Orange Roofs team before booking if you have
any questions or concerns.**
To re-cap, 20 Barnaloft is luxury self-catering accommodation in St Ives and has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, incredible sea views, a balcony with a sofa to lounge on and an allocated parking space for one car on Westward Road.

We recently stayed in 20 Barnaloft - my husband, my 5.5 year old son and I for October half term and we absolutely loved it. Absolutely amazing location - very central, gorgeous views, great if you want to go on the beach (which we did most days, despite being October) and good shop opposite the back entrance for any bits and bobs needed. Well presented and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen - which we were grateful of and nice welcome package provided. Although quite compact it ticket every box for us and we would not hesitate to return - and hope it's not too long before we do. Would recommend, but could be a slight squash with x4 adults IMO

A wonderful location and very convenient to explore being right in the heart of St Ives . We very much enjoyed our stay once more to Cornwall. The apartment is easy to access as you can drop off luggage and the parking worked well. We felt that the lounge area needed to be more cosy as the sofa had covers over it and the rug was more of a large plastic style mat . Lovely cosy throws would have been better. The ensuite shower room is extremely compact so we used the shower downstairs . It was such a shame as the view was taken away with the large sofa on the balcony which we did realise when we booked but we didn't use once . It had a huge cover as we felt if it was just a table and chairs the view would not have been compromised and we would have sat out more . The view is absolutely breathtaking and perfect location . Thank you to Orange roofs once more .

We absolutely loved our stay at 20 Barnaloft. The location was perfect and the apartment itself is so beautifully done and it was spotlessly clean. The little touches really top it off and it's clear that a lot of time, effort, care and expense has been poured into making this a place for people to really enjoy. It's a real gem. Having a parking space is an absolute god send in St Ives and the fact that it's a short walk away was a positive for us as we enjoyed the stroll and the views along the way. Having the St Ives surf school on the doorstep was a massive plus for us too. We were so sad to leave and we will definitely be back. Thank you for having us

Staying at Barnaloft was wonderful. It was my last holiday before starting cancer treatment and this wonderful location made it a very special week. The property has everything you need and more, with beautiful Beach views, parking nearby and easy access to the beach and a short walk to some of the best restaurants in St Ives. Thank you to Orange Roofs for offering a beautiful well kept and clean property. Will definitely come again once my treatment is over.

Fabulous location! Fabulous views! We didn't use our car once as Barnaloft is well situated to walk everywhere - beaches, galleries, shops, restaurants. We would definitely recommend this property and will stay again. Orange Roofs staff are brilliant too - quick to respond to any queries, friendly and helpful.

Fabulous apartment right on the beach and close to all the amenities you need! The beach cafe, deli, shops, bars etc. Excellent views from the balcony. Very well kitted out with comfortable seating and two very nice bathrooms. It was great to be so close to the beach and have the private access through the gate. Despite the mixed weather it meant we could spend all day going back and forth from the apartment to the beach.

Amazing in every aspect from booking, to the apartment, to the incredible location. The team at Orange Roofs were super accommodating for my dates and request and were super helpful. The apartment was super clean and tidy, everything was accessible. The furnishings were simple but not spared and completely lush. The bed I wanted to take home and bedding.. it was the comfiest, best sleep I've had in ages, along with the fluffy towels. We were left a fresh bloomer bread from the local bakery, eggs, cornish butter, tea bags and lots of other little bits which were just lovely. LOCATION!! We got checked in and settled down just in time for a gorgeous sunset, which we watched together on the balcony with the sand a few foot down from our feet. The views for the whole weekend rain or shine were incredible! A-MAZE-ING!!! To top it off, the communication with the housekeeper topped off out stay as they were so lovely and allowed us not to rush our check out, giving us a time they would be round. Cannot wait to come back and book this again. It was a first time for our children in St Ives and they absolutely fell in love with it just as much as we did a couple years ago! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Amazing start to end. If your looking for a getaway- you MUST STAY HERE !! X

Lovely apartment in a superb location. The towels were lovely, the views and location are outstanding and the equipment in the house is great. It's good to have the little consumables which were left too, so thanks for that.

The apartment is fabulous. The location is perfect for
exploring St Ives and for enjoying the beach. We particularly loved
the balcony, every night the sunsets were gorgeous. The apartment
is quite small, but has been cleverly designed to make it
comfortable. Having two bathrooms is a great feature. The bathrooms
have fab rainfall showers. Everything is finished to a high spec,
and the kitchen was well kitted out, appreciated the Nespresso
machine too!
Parking was a bit tricky, whilst nice to have a designated
spot at the rugby club, we opted to get a weekly rover car parking
ticket (£50 a week) and used the Barnooon car park as easier to get
to. **Management Comment: Dear guests, please note that the
allocated parking space for 20 Barnaloft has moved from the St Ives
Rugby Club to Westward Road on Porthmeor Hill**

20 Barnaloft is outstanding in every way. Upon entering, I felt overwhelmed with emotion. Not only is the view breathtaking, but to I felt exceptionally lucky to be staying in such a beautiful apartment. Dilly, the housekeeper. maintains the property to a standard you rarely see. Spotlessly clean, I felt like I was the first person to stay there. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. The bedrooms were luxurious and the rainfall showers made it even more special. 20 Barnaloft has to be the number one place to stay. It felt a real privilege to be there, so a big thank you both to the owners and Orange Roofs.

Stunning apartment, extremely well equipped. Above all the
location literally on the beach cannot be beaten. The ever changing
seascape combined with the huge full glazed wall make this
apartment the perfect choice.
So good we have booked to return early next year.

We had a fantastic week at 20 Barnaloft. It is a wonderful, clean, contemporary and light apartment, which felt surprisingly spacious given it's small footprint. The kitchen was great with a good sized fridge/freezer, full size dishwasher and washer/dryer. The bedrooms were very comfortable with good storage and the shower rooms beautifully appointed. The stand out feature though was the spectacular location, the view was incredible and the balcony's large and comfortable sofa proved pretty hard to leave! The Orange Roofs team were absolutely great to deal with and also gave us a fabulous restaurant recommendation, The Fish Shed, amazing food and eating in an outdoor booth overlooking Porthmeor beach was pretty magical too. We hope to return.

This property has lovely view of beach and location is near to harbour everything in the property was of good quality. The beds were very comfortable and bathrooms high quality. The on suite bathroom in main bedroom needs a shelf there was no were to put toothbrushes etc. the stairs are steep to bedrooms so small children would find this difficult. Some instructions for appliances would be helpful as we are older and not tech mindful. All in all a lovely holiday shame about weather
Orange Roofs comment: Thank you for your review Robert, it is such you stayed as Storm Eunice passed over the west. The Orange Roofs App has detailed step by step guide to appliances and heating in the apartment, we do try to communicate this to all guests before they arrive yet don't want to 'over communicate' either so we are sorry you didn't contact us so we could have pointed you in the right direction. Within the App, we also mention the stair gradients, please see: Stair Gradients The stair gradient up to the second level apartments has a gradient of 25 degrees. This is not very steep at all but there are quite a few steps. Within the apartment the gradient is slightly steeper at 45 degrees, this is above the 'ideal' gradient of being between 32-37.

From the moment we opened the door and saw the view we knew we were going to LOVE this apartment! We were a family of four with two teenage daughters and the apartment was perfect for us. The location is incredible and to be on the beach in literally seconds is amazing. The view from the balcony is like no other and perfect for a glass of wine whilst watching the sunsets and sunrise. The bathrooms are compact but perfectly formed and despite their smaller size the bedrooms offer plenty of storage. The living space is ample big enough for four and offers everything you could possibly need. There is space to drive up to the apartment to unload luggage before you park your car at the rugby club a short 25 min (but very uphill) walk away. There are two flights of stairs to the apartment but it's worth it for the view! We had a fantastic break and would highly recommend this apartment…we hope to be back very soon! **Management Comment: Dear guests, please note that the allocated parking space for 20 Barnaloft has moved from the St Ives Rugby Club to Westward Road on Porthmeor Hill**

This place lived up to and exceeded all our expectations. We arrived super late and so had resigned ourselves to no dinner and were delighted to find a gorgeous welcome hamper of fresh quality local produce waiting for us. The place was spotless with all the mod cons you'd expect and more! Every detail thought of. It really was like going from home to home with more! It was pitch dark when we arrived so waking up to the gorgeous sea view a stones throw away was just breathtaking. The apartment is so pretty and calming we didn't want to leave even to explore which isn't like us! That said the central location meant that we didn't have to venture to far or for too long before we were back on our balcony enjoying the weather, fresh air and view. For beach lovers you are seconds away! This place is magical. Thank you to the owners for making it so.
