About Pendynas
Pendynas is a luxury three-bedroom holiday cottage in the sought-after Downalong area of St Ives, just moments from Porthgwidden Beach, Porthmeor Beach and the harbour. Sleeping up to six guests, this beautifully restored cottage has four bathrooms, sea views from two bedrooms and the rare benefit of parking for two cars directly behind the property. With a stylish kitchen, spacious living areas and excellent access to St Ives’ beaches, restaurants, galleries and shops, Pendynas is an ideal self-catering choice for families, couples or friends wanting a comfortable stay in the heart of St Ives.
Kitchen & Dining
The bespoke Shaker-style kitchen is on the ground floor and is well equipped for a relaxed self-catering stay.
It opens directly into the dining area, where a large table provides plenty of space for meals together.
There is also direct access from the rear of the property into a ground-floor shower room, which is particularly useful after returning from the beach.
Living
A small step down from the dining area leads into the comfortable living room.
There is a sofa and two armchairs for relaxing together, along with a large Smart TV for family entertainment.
The layout creates a sociable ground-floor space while still allowing the kitchen, dining and living areas to feel distinct.
Bedrooms
Pendynas has three bedrooms arranged across the first and top floors.
On the first floor is a twin bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom.
Also on this floor is a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room and lovely views towards the Island and the sea beyond.
The whole of the top floor is dedicated to a second king-size bedroom, creating a bright and spacious principal suite with further views across the Island and coastline.
All bedrooms have Smart TVs with built-in DVD players.
Bathrooms
The cottage has four bathrooms, all with underfloor heating.
On the ground floor is a shower room with shower, wash basin and WC, positioned conveniently for guests returning from the beach.
The first-floor twin bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower over, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail.
The first-floor king-size bedroom has an en-suite shower room with shower, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail.
The top-floor king-size bedroom also has an en-suite shower room with a large shower, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail.
Outdoor Space
At the rear of Pendynas is a practical and welcoming enclosed outdoor area.
A hand-built bench and table provide a pleasant place for a morning coffee or evening drink.
There is also an outdoor shower for rinsing off sand, plus space for storing bodyboards, a surfboard and rinsed wetsuits after days spent at the beach.
Close to Beach
Pendynas is exceptionally well positioned for enjoying St Ives on foot.
Porthgwidden Beach is around a one-minute walk away, while Porthmeor Beach can be reached in approximately two minutes via the Island.
St Ives Harbour, Fore Street, restaurants, galleries, independent shops and traditional pubs are also all within easy walking distance.
The location makes early morning swims, surfing, beach days and evening walks particularly convenient.
Parking
Pendynas has the significant advantage of private on-site parking for two cars at the rear of the cottage.
This is especially valuable in central St Ives and makes arrival, unloading and day trips around West Cornwall straightforward.
Access
Pendynas is arranged over three floors.
The kitchen, dining area, living room and one shower room are on the ground floor.
A staircase leads to the first floor, where the twin bedroom, king-size bedroom and their en-suite bathrooms are located.
A further staircase leads to the top-floor king-size bedroom and en-suite shower room.
There are also small changes in level between some of the ground-floor spaces, so guests should be comfortable using stairs and steps during their stay.

We had s lovely stay at Pendynas. It is a beautiful house with amazing views from the top floor bedroom . Fabulous decor & feels very homely . Comfortably fit six adults. The short 5 minute walk to Porthgwidden beach was perfect for us, we would pop down early in the morning for a swim before the crowds arrived, it was so close we didn't even need to take our towels . We had an issue with the cleanliness on arrival but it was quickly resolved with a new cleaner being sent round to clean everything that had been missed. My only negative thoughts about Pendynas were the showers, none of them were very powerful during our stay & the double bedroom shower was broken throughout our stay. Despite the issues we loved it & would definitely stay again.

Spotlessly clean on arrival. Beautifully furnished, spacious luxury cottage. Modern, but still retains 'old fisherman's cottage' feel. Very comfy beds, and en suite to each bedroom - lovely! Everything you could possibly need in kitchen equipment. Two parking spaces obviously a bonus. Two minute walk to beach and the excellent Porthgwidden Beach Restaurant; five minute walk to harbour. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Excellent visit as always. The location is great for access to St Ives amenities, the property is always clean & tidy and the Orange Roofs staff were very responsive. February weather was not very kind to us this year but we still got in some good walks and the restaurants & pubs are relatively quiet so no problems eating out in the town,

Well appointed and equipped house, tastefully furnished and comfortable for six adults. Ground floor wetroom great after surf & beach. Neat touch of an outdoor warm spray for washing cold sandy feet. Comfortable beds and good view from top floor en-suite double bedroom. Definitely would book again.

We loved Pendynas, it was as we expected and more . The property is really well cared for so much so it felt like we were the first to ever stay there. The location is perfect with Porthgwidden Beach just round the corner and the added bonus of 2 parking spaces whilst also being near the town centre . The property is very well equipped and spotlessly clean , it had every facility we needed. Contact with Orange Roofs and the housekeeper regarding arrival and departure ran smoothly. We will definitely be returning.

An exceptionally clean light spacious property in the most
convenient part of St Ives, easy access to all the shops amenities
and beaches. Everything you could possibly need is provided along
with games for the family should the weather be unusually
unkind.
Any queries (due to me!) are promptly dealt with by the
friendly and helpful Orange Roofs staff. A lovely holiday in a
lovely place, all good!

Excellent property in a good location. Quality is to a very high standard. Rooms are all good sizes and en suite bathrooms work well. Parking for one car is straight forwards, even for a large vehicle. Parking for two cars would be tight unless they are both small. Communication from Orange Roofs was excellent too.

It was so convenient for the town, beach, restaurants, shops, trips out and transport. The parking is an absolute Gem, we didn't use our cars all week! The property was really clean, well maintained, felt luxurious (the welcome basket was great, thanks x) and we will definitely be returning.

Pendynas was in a great location for resturants and Fore St and the habour in St Ives. It was a bonus to have 2 parking spaces as well. It was like a home away from home. Very clean and tidy. We had 5 adults staying there and was essential for each bedroom to have their own bathroom (that were good sizes) as were the bedrooms. Loved the app as very helpful and explained everything. Thank you

Pendynas is not only immaculate, stylish and well equipped, it is also in a lovely quiet location. Everything is easily accessible with 2 beaches within a few minutes walk and the harbour, shops and restaurantsTakll close by.The icing on the cake is the parking for 2 cars. We stayed with friends who like body-boarding and the close proximity to the beach was fantastic. As was the downstairs shower with access from the courtyard garden. We thoroughly recommend this property for a great stay in St Ives

We've just returned from a fantastic 7 nights stay. The cottage is as described, very well equipped, comfortable, clean and just a delight to be in. The location is fabulous, literally 2 minutes from the beaches and in a perfect location for the shops and restaurants. Parking of 2 estate cars was fine. We'd definitely come back. All the info on the orange roofs app was also extremely helpful and well thought out. Thank you

We have been coming to St Ives on holiday for over 40 years, as children and with our own children. This year was our first dealings with Orange Roofs and staying at Pendynas and from the beginning it has been a really good start. Orange Roofs have been extremely helpful from the booking to any issues/questions we had during our stay. Pendynas is probably the loveliest house we have stayed in over the years. It was modern yet comfortable, every thought that has gone into the house is benefitted by us as occupants. We were so impressed that we have already booked for 2021 and cant wait to return.

Pendynas is a beautiful cottage in a quiet street close to all amenities. Everything about the property screams quality, everything you need is there. The bonus of parking at the property make life so much easier. This is the nicest most luxurious property we have stayed in.

What a happy find. St Ives is my go to place and this cottage fills all my expectations. We have stayed here 3 times now with a fourth booked in spring. So convenient to soak up the atmosphere and within walking distance of pubs and eateries. Parking is onsite but tight. Building going on further up back road meant lorries needed to access. Weather was interesting due to storms but made for some amazing photos.
