About Sea Spirit
The view from Sea Spirit will take your breath away. Nothing can prepare you for the panoramic views that span across almost the entire width of this self-catering accommodation in St Ives. Throughout the seasons it will give you an undisturbed view of the idyllic St Ives Harbour all the way around to the iconic Island Chapel. However, although it is unbelievably difficult to draw your eyes away from the spectacular sea view, it does not deter from how wonderful the interior of the apartment is too.
Sea Spirit has two-bedrooms, two bathrooms and is on the top floor of a Barnoon Terrace building overlooking St Ives town and harbour. We think you will love the stylish yet comfortably casual interior. The interior finish of the apartment complements its most striking feature; the sea view, and it simply adds to your whole St Ives holidays experience. For centuries artists have come to St Ives for its unique light and spectacular coastal scenery. Being as far South West as you can get, the climate is milder and the daylight hours in both summer and winter are longer, so you will see why artists fell in love with the scenes that Sea Spirit offers from sunrise to moonrise. So, if you are a budding to experienced artist, or simply love putting a pencil to a sketchbook, we're sure Sea Spirit will be the place for you.
The two bedrooms are located at the rear of the apartment and have their own en-suite shower rooms. Sea Spirit is perfect whether you are two couples coming for a romantic retreat, or if you're a family of four. One of the bedrooms has a double bed and the other bedroom can have either be configured as twin 3ft beds or it can be made into a super-king size bed (in width only as is 6ft 3" long), depending on your preference.
At the front of the apartment, you have the spacious living room with two comfortable sofas, perfectly angled for you to sit and soak up the tremendous views from dawn until dusk. If you find yourself needing a break from watching the boats in the harbour, there is a Smart TV for you to sit and enjoy your favourites. Neatly tucked around the corner of the living room is a dining table that is able to seat four guests and your kitchen area all with the same incredible vista. The kitchen has everything you need for a self-catering holiday where you're able to whip up a feast with arguably one of the best kitchen views in St Ives. You have all the necessary integrated appliances including a washing machine and dishwasher as well as a large fridge/ freezer, oven and induction hob. If you're planning on doing a lot of home cooking as you're finding it too difficult to peel yourself away from the sea view, all you need is at the property ready and waiting, pots, pans crockery, the lot! Sea Spirit also benefits from a Dolce Gusto coffee machine, so you can sit and take in the views over a good coffee.
Sea Spirit is located on Barnoon Terrace, in a traffic-free zone and is accessed via a path that runs in front of the terrace of sea-facing houses. For the warm, balmy evenings take your favourite beverage down to the shared terrace and lose yourself in the panoramic heaven of the harbour and St Ives Bay. Start your mornings sat outside with your croissants and coffee while the palm trees sway, your skin warmed by morning sunshine, and watch the sea as it calmy mesmerizes you into a state of utter relaxation.
Ideally located, the stroll into town takes no more than a few minutes. You are a short walk away from Fore Street where you'll find all of St Ives' fantastic independent stores and cafés. You're also very close to two of St Ives' most renowned galleries, TATE St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum. Your closest beach to Sea Spirit is the Blue Flag awarded Porthmeor Beach; the best surfing spot in St Ives. It has takeaways, a beautiful beach side restaurant and public toilets. There is a footpath that leads down to the beach just 200m from the front door. Being so close to the centre of St Ives, you are spoilt for choice on your closest restaurant, however, we'd recommend booking a beach side booth at Porthmeor Beach Café. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner you're spoilt for choice, for some of the best pancakes at breakfast to amazing tapas selections for lunch and dinner.
Please note, the parking space for Sea Spirit is at St Ives Rugby Club. This is approximately a 15 minute uphill walk from the property. The walk may feel a big uphill for those not used to hills. However, you are able to pull up closer to unload all of your luggage. We appreciate it may be slightly more of a walk than a public car park but the owners kindly wish to provide a guaranteed and free parking space for their guests during their stay. If you prefer to park closer, Barnoon public car park is a short walk away.
To recap, this luxury holiday apartment in St Ives is a penthouse apartment on Barnoon Terrace which is a traffic-free zone. The sea views are extensive from this apartment and can be enjoyed from the open plan living, dining and kitchen area. It has two bedrooms both with an en-suite shower room, wash basin and WC. There is parking provided for one car at St Ives Rugby Club which is an uphill 15-minute walk from the apartment. We suggest parking at the Rugby Club and paying a few pounds for a taxi as it takes the stress away from St Ives parking headaches! During school holidays there is a regular shuttle bus from Tate St Ives to the Rugby Club.

Orange roofs have been amazing from start to finish. From simple booking emails I sent at the start, to needing to make contact once we arrived, they always responded quickly, efficiently and friendly. The app was amazing with all the information needed at your fingertips. The apartment was immaculately clean, and we were even lucky enough to get the keys earlier than stated. I felt like I wanted to go and say Hi to the staff on my holiday. They were very personable, and this property 'Sea Spirit' is a credit to them and the owners. The apartment has everything needed with good quality finishes and probably one of the best views in town. I could never tire of that view. Honestly can't wait to return. Will definitely use Orange roofs again, can't recommend them enough! Thank you for a fab holiday.

Delightful accommodation with the most amazing views. However definitely one for the 'abled' as we found it quite stressful finding the place, getting our stuff up to the apartment, and finding a space in a car park for my twin sisters who came with us. However we have been to St. Ives many times and it has always been like this as the town IMHO was never designed for the motor car.

Stunned by the apartment, stunned by the view, I actually needed to wear my sunglasses for breakfast on the first morning. It was perfectly designed and equipped for our week, And we were surprised by how quiet the apartment was. We will be back!

Fantastic view of St Ives! We were two couples sharing the flat so having both bathrooms ensuite was ideal. The flat is nicely decorated, and very quiet. Altho the parking is a bit of a walk from the flat, it's nice having a reserved spot available. We did manage to 'double park' both on arrival and departure for loading/unloading. The final set of stairs within the flat is steep and narrow (as are most in the UK), so I'd recommend packing as little as possible! We loved watching the tides and the birds from within the flat, and wandering around St Ives. Proximity to St Michael's Mount and Minack Theatre was a plus. Highly recommend staying here for your next Cornwall adventure.

The selling point to this property is most definitely the amazing view! It has the "wow" factor...even on a rainy day! All the facilities are modern and comfortable and the showers are fantastic. It is strolling distance to the whole of St.Ives and so parking in the reserved spot which is about 15/20mins walk away, was not a problem. Also, there is a park part way along, so if you have children, it's a great little stop-off! The car park nearest to the property isn't too costly if you park between 6pm-10am. I think it was about £3 (ish)?! There are stairs leading up to the apartment, which depending how much luggage you have brought, are do-able AND worth it for the view! We had an online supermarket shop delivery and this worked out perfectly. Also, there are Co-Op's within walking distance and a local shop just up the hill on the right hand side past the car park. If you get the weather, Porthgwidden Beach is perfect for families. Not too big, great waves for splashing and swimming about in and rocks to climb. We drove to the Eden Project which, though expensive, was well worth the visit and we easily spent about 6 hours there! Also Flambards....great for families and the history section was really interesting and detailed too. REALLY enjoyed the Tate Gallery and there were activities for the children to do too. They loved it. St.Michael's Mount was an interesting trip out too. Free if you have a National Trust card. Unfortunately, the weather was bad for most of the week we were there. However, it didn't dampen our spirits and we did "days out" donned in our best waterproofs! When the weather is sunny, you could easily just spend the day exploring and mooching around the shops and streets of St.Ives and lazing on the various beaches! Make sure you eat at least one locally made cornish pasty, eat fresh fish at a seafood restaurant and I would recommend the Talay Thai Kitchen for food! Delicious! All in all, a fantastic spot which I would definitely book again without hesitation.

This is a great apartment! The view is absolutely beautiful and the location is perfect (very close to all the shops, restaurants and beaches but still very quiet). It was also very clean when we arrived, the cushions looked brand new and we just felt really welcome. The communication with the agency was also very good!

Lovely place to stay with an awesome view. When it rained we just sat in the window & watched the people go by in the town and beaches far below. All very clean & convenient to town. We'd definitely stay here again.

Fabulous apartment, well equipped and spotlessly clean.
Excellent location few minutes walk from town, Tate gallery and
Barbara Hepworth museum, visits we enjoyed immensely. The view over
the harbour and The Island from the apartment is
incredible.
Although a parking space at the rugby club is included we
chose to use the Barnoon long stay car park for a reasonable daily
charge (£6 a day in March) as it is only few minutes walk from Sea
Spirit whereas the rugby club is a fair walk up a steep
hill.

Wonderful property. Terrific view of St Ives and the St Ives harbor. Sea Spirit has all the amenities you could want. Washer/dryer, dishwasher, coffee and tea, and all plates and cutlery. Beds are very comfortable. Terrific location for the Tate gallery. As with all things in St Ives, everything is walkable (uphill walks are steep). Three flights of stairs to get to the unit so plan accordingly. Free parking for the unit is 3/4 mile away and a 15-minute walk. It is possible to park in a lot a few minutes walk away but it is subject to availability. Cleanliness of the unit was superb. Highly recommend. 5 Star.

Sublime setting with perfect position for St Ives. Peaceful. Look forward to returning. Some things looking worse for wear - coasters, kitchen table top and bathroom glass shelves.
MANAGER'S COMMENT: Thank you for your review Chris, the owners are aware of the bits that need renewing and refreshing and have a plan to deal with these when there is a gap in bookings this winter.

Our fourth visit I think…
The view we can't stop gazing at.
Rain or shine.
Day or night.
An art instillation at your window… just the therapy we
needed.
Sat at home and wishing our way back to the next time.

Sea Spirit is located in one of the most beautiful areas of St Ives… a 180 degree view that will heal and restore the most weary of souls. We never slept in as we didn't want to miss anything. The weather means the view changes and switches by the minute. The drama of the sea and the sky is all on show and makes you sea weather in such a different way… heavenly! Be prepared for many climbs up and down the hills but your efforts will be well rewarded with the whole of St Ives playing out it's daily life in all it's details below and out to the horizon beyond. Leaving rested, restored and re-inspired.

Amazing views and beautiful apartment. Apartment was exactly as described, spotlessly clean with all amenities for a comfortable stay. Views breathtaking, great location close to the harbour but be mindful that you need to be quite fit as it's a bit of a climb up to the apartment plus a couple of flights of stairs, but so worth it for the unobstructed views. I would recommend you park at Barnoon car park to offload and re-load your car as the Rugby Club parking space is quite a trek up the hill. Orange Roof app was very helpful and informative, lovely welcome pack on arrival was a nice touch and very generous. Would be a good idea to have a fan or air conditioning as apartment gets hot with all the glass windows on a sunny day, also recycling bags would be useful. We would definitely recommend this lovely apartment and stay again as our experience with Orange Roofs was faultless.

Not our original choice, but sea Spirit turned out to be a true gem. We are so glad we were able to spend our week there. The views were stunning and just a stones throw from the hub of St Ives. The second bedroom could do with some drawer space but apart from that we have nothing but fond memories and hope to be back.

What an amazing property! All you could possibly ask for. The flat was well equipped with everything you would need and it was all we could do each day to tear ourselves away from just sitting and watching the wonderful panorama in front of us. Only a stone throw away from all the lovely restaurants. We had a lovely meal in the Porthminster Beach Cafe. Visited the Minack Theatre, 30 minutes away by car. If you are coming by car be warned that the parking place in a good 15 minute walk up hill to the rugby club. We had our bikes so good exercise first thing in the morning! Can't wait to come again!

This apartment must have the best view in St Ives, it was wonderful just to sit & look out at such a panoramic scene. On the Saturday evening we were treated to a brilliant display by the Red arrows (G7 summit) flying right past the window, it was great. The apartment is lovely to so clean & bright & great decor. We had a lovely time in St Ives & can definitely recommend this apartment & Orange roofs who have been so helpful through out. Thank you Orange roofs.

We had the most wonderful stay at Sea Spirit. The flat was beautiful, with comfy beds, in an excellent location and a fully equipped kitchen. It was only a few minutes walk from Porthmeor beach where we did body boarding everyday and we were able to hang our wetsuit outside in the back courtyard of the building, which was really handy. The communication from Orange Roofs was fantastic. Sam and her team were very responsive. They recommended we use their app, which was incredibly helpful and had all the details you needed for you holiday in one place. The best part of our holiday though, were the breathtaking views from the flat! They were unbelievable and would take our breath away every morning when we got up. I highly recommend this flat and can't wait to book it again for our next holiday in St.Ives!

The service we received from yourselves was excellent and the information provided was really helpful prior to our stay. We also thought it was a lovely touch for one of your colleagues to call the day before to see if we had any questions. The prosecco on arrival and biscuits etc was a lovely welcome.

Sea Spirit has probably the best views of St Ives through huge picture windows in the living area, absolutely stunning. From here you can watch the constantly changing land and seascape and the fishing boats bringing in their catch. You soon relax and get into the rhythm of Cornish life, a much needed antidote to modern living. The beds are very comfortable and everything is spotlessly clean. The kitchen is very well equipped. It is a lovely, quiet spot but only 4 mins walk to the shops and amazing restaurants and bars. There is also a parking space 10mins walk away which is invaluable during the busy season. Access to the property by vehicle is restricted, there is room to park 100 metres away to unload, then bags etc. need to be carried along a path and up two flights of stairs. The walk into town is also very steep so not suitable for everyone. But, if you are reasonably fit and active, this is a gem of a property.

Had a wonderful one week break at Sea Spirit Apartment. Orange Roofs really have great customer service and were very responsive to questions and needs that I have. Apartment was clean and well catered for and was great to have food delivery all ready and prepared for our arrival. The views from the apartment are spectacular and the location is perfect. Literally 5 minutes equally from Porthmeor Beach and the Harbour and the plethora of shops and restaurants on offer. A real gem of a place.

The panoramiv views at Sea Spirit are an absolute delight! We enjoyed sitting whilst looking over the harbour, watching the tide coming and leaving. The apartment is furnished with specuial sea spirit taste and style. Very clean, very tidy, very good equipment. We felt at home from the very first moment and even made friends with the seagulls on the bottom outside of our panoramic window. We would highly recommend this apartmant ! A place to come back to!

The truly fantastic view is the obvious benefit of this apartment but there are several others too. The proximity to the town centre is one, it being just a few minutes to get to various parts of Fore Street, the harbour and Porthmeor beach - albeit steep on the way back! The flat itself is great, everything worked, the showers were excellent and the kitchen well-appointed. The view is the star of the show though and I spent many hours watching the sunrise, the comings and goings in the harbour and the waves crashing on the island - wonderful, and the photos on the website do not do it justice.

We had a great stay at this apartment. It was bright, clean and very well finished. The welcome provisions were very much appreciated and every detail was thought of. The views were amazing, you could see both beaches and the winding streets set out below. The glass windows had been very well designed so make the most of all aspects. We would love to return for another visit.
