Pencroft

A beautiful house with everything you need to spend a week relaxing and exploring Cornwall. Lovely garden and outdoor space. Within walking distance down to bay, and to the coastal path into St Ives. The walk back up from the bay is very steep in places but is nice walking through the trees and only takes about 15 minutes.

Very good property in an ideal location although a steep hill to the beach there are various car parks just before the beach that take the legs out of it! Also a lot cheaper than the one at the beach. Beautiful place and within easy reach of st Ives parking for a day and 2 adults return with the dog for £9 which I thought was excellent, talking of dogs you can take them pretty much everywhere in st Ives , would defo come back for another visit. Orange roofs were also very good and literally would do anything for you all you have to donow ask, will defo use them again too

Fantastic, stylish, modern house. Kitchen had all the utensils you needed. 5 minutes walk to the train station and 10 minutes walk to Carbis Bay beach. Bus stop at the end of the little lane so no need to use the car. Will stay here again.

Pencroft is a lovely family house to stay in with plenty of room, we had 5 adults, 1 toddler and two dogs and it worked very well for us. The house is very comfortable and has everything you need. We found a lane not far from the house that took us down to Carbis Bay beach, it's quite steep but not too far. You can walk to St Ives from there. There are bus stops each side of the road at the end of the drive so easy to hop on if you prefer. The tapas bar and restaurant just down the road was superb so we had a few nights there, very friendly and welcomed our grandchild and dogs. We would definitely stay again.

We had the most wonderful week staying in Pencroft, such a beautiful part of the world and perfectly located a 5 minute walk from the train station to catch a £1 trip St Ives and 10 minutes to the stunning Carbis Bay beach - a steep walk back up the hill but well worth it. The house was clean, modern with perfect white bedding and fluffy towels. It's a lovely sociable living space for a family and comfy beds for all. Really loved the secure garden for our dogs and the wood floor downstairs worked so well for sandy feet. Kitchen was really well supplied with all the utensils we could need. Wouldn't hesitate to stay at Pencroft again as a wonderful property in the perfect area with loads to do and see.

A perfect retreat. Lovely house and so convenient for facilities and wonderful walks with the added benefit of being able to catch the train back. Added benefit of ev charging. Definitely on our to be returned to list.

Pencroft is a lovely property. Very comfortable and well equipped and just a short stroll to the beautiful Carbis Bay beach. I would love to return!

The accommodation was clean and with plenty of room for the four of us. We had stayed near St. Ives before, but not at Pencroft. We can recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet place which is convenient to the beach (about a ten-minute walk, though be prepared for a steep climb on returning!). As it was October with some wind and rain we did not use the outside patio but it Looked like a good place to relax. In all we had a really good time and our friend from the USA who were with us echoed that.

Wonderful stay. Plenty of room. Everything we needed. We found Carbis a great base. Close enough to the hussle of St Ives. Which was easy to get to by train or bus in a few minutes. Or take the lovely hilly walk with excellent views from Carbis Bay Hotel to St Ives. The beach at Carbis Bay is a must. Very steep walk with all the stuff we had for the beach but parked in Hotel for £20. Expensive but we felt it was worth it for a great full day on thr beach. Resident neighbours gave us some great tips on routes to places and we experienced a lovely scenic route along the coast to Sennen Cove. With a coast walk to Lands End. Only minor negatives were the door to the lounge very heavy for our 5 year old.she always needed help to avoid trapping fingers. And microwave needed a break between uses as seemed to over heat. Definatly would use Pencroft again we loved it xx

Very comfortable and spacious accommodation. Contemporary furnishings. Well equipped and clean. Dog friendly and good walks nearby. Garden mostly secure for dogs however we had to plug a couple of small gaps in the fencing. Beach is nearby however the route is steep so be prepared for uphill walk back to Pencroft. Local amenities very good. Recommend for small families with dogs.

Carbis Bay has beautiful sandy beaches and clear seas, perfect for swimming. On the doorstep of St Ives, great for visiting other areas in South Cornwall.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was well maintained and furnished to a high standard with ample room for an averaged sized family. We will definitely make future bookings through OrangeRoofs who provided an excellent level of service from start to finish.

My wife and I loved Pencroft, it was open planned and light with a lovely view of the garden. The main bedroom again had a lovely view of the garden with a balcony that you could sit out on if you wanted! Everything we needed was provided at Pencroft, and when we had a problem with the washing machine the management tried their hardest to rectify the problem! They were very professional. Everything about Pencroft was to a high standard, the only thing I can say which after a while wasn't a problem was the very tight drive way up to Pencroft. My wife and I would definitely stay here again.

Pencroft is an excellent base to explore South Cornwall. Situated up a narrow lane, the property is spacious and the location was very peaceful (we were there in March). The property has great amenities, which should be sufficient for anyones holiday. It was warm, welcoming and very comfortable. You are given 'guest information', which is very detailed and explains everything to do with the property and has information on the local area. There are a few restaurants within walking distance of the property, such as La Casita  the Gannet Inn or if you fancy a really treat head 10 mins down the hill to Adam Handling's restaurant the Ugly Butterfly. From Pencroft you can walk to St. Ives (approx. 1.5 miles). Follow the coastal path and get the timing right, you can walk along the beach into the harbour while the tide is out. Go the other way and you could have Porthkidney Beach all to yourselves. There is much more to explore from this excellent location. I would definitely recommend this property.

A lovely architecturally inspired detached home offering all the benefits of modern living. Close to Carbis Bay Beach and St Ives. With the added bonus of private parking and a secluded garden. Orange Roofs are a top professional holiday letting agency. The property was lovely and clean and communication was excellent. We will definitely be consulting this agency prior to booking our next stay in Cornwall! Last but not least, a big thank you to the owners of Pencroft for allowing us to stay in their beautiful home. Great house excellent location , very comfortable can't wait to go again . The only very small bad point for me was no blinds or curtains in the living room,

We had a lovely stay in Pencroft. Property is great, in a tucked away quiet area. Great for dogs...no areas to escape. Great location for dog owners..Porth Kidney beach 30 mins walk away..my dog loved it! Pencroft is maintained to a real good spec..everything you need is there...would highly recommend! Orange roofs (I mainly interacted with Sam and Billie) have been great throughout and I would recommend these guys to anyone wanting a great, organised stay! Thankyou for a great holiday and memories!!

Had a lovely week staying in this property was everything we wanted and needed. Well equipped and really liked the little wildlife garden which my nephew and dog loved. Would book again in the future.

The quality of all the properties listed on Orange Roofs is what first drew me to the company. We were planning on traveling with a large family (and a dog) so we needed a little more space which isn't always easy in and around St Ives without spending a fortune. Pencroft looked perfect for us. When we arrived at the property it certainly lived up to the pictures online. We never felt on top of each other all week and the house was equipped with everything you need for a happy holiday. We used the kitchen a lot during our stay and it was a dream to cook in and prepare lunches to take out with us. There's strong wi-fi and a smart TV for the kids to log into your Netflix accounts etc and a lovely fully fenced garden for all the family to sit out and play in. It's easy to walk down the hill and jump on the train into St Ives and works out much cheaper than paying for parking. As we were traveling with a dog we were a little restricted on beaches due to seasonal dog ban but Porth Kidney Sands was close by. I would recommend parking near the church/golf club if you're planning a day on the beach though, as the walk along the coastal path from the property is difficult, especially with younger children. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend booking in at Pencroft and the service you receive from the team at Orange Roofs is the icing on the cake. Can't wait to come back.

We loved our stay. Very relaxing and comfortable bedding and accomodation. Loads to do in the area and godrevy beach was amazing for surfing. Only 10mins drive away.

A few weeks ago we had a lovely stay in this fabulous house, tastefully decorated, well equipped, with great wi-fi and secure garden for our two dogs. The welcome pack was much appreciated. A big thank you to Sam for all the help with our booking and would highly recommend Orange Roofs.

Great location - 5 minutes walk to Carbis Bay station to get into St Ives v quickly. 10 mins walk to the beach. House has cool interiors, very well equipped. Great entertaining space. Loved it all.

We stayed at Pencroft for a long weekend. It is a fantastic house, spacious and well equipped in a great location. Orange Roofs recommended Sunday lunch at The Halsetown Inn which was fantastic.

We had a great week staying at Pencroft. It’s our second time there and it has everything we need. The house is large and very easy living. The kitchen is fully equipped and the welcome pack is a nice surprise. It’s location is close to everything. I would thoroughly recommend it and we can’t wait to come back next year.

Having just left this property after a week of glorious sunshine, we found the house and the neighbours delightful. The house is well presented, spacious and well equipped. The wifi is great (very important with four young people in the party) and the area is very safe and secure. The driveway and parking are a little tight - having said that, we were in a VW transporter Kombi and had no issues. And whilst we were holidaying the telegraph pole that made it a little restrictive was moved to the edge of the boundary making life much easier! St Ives is very easy to get to from the house, with the train station nearby, or you can drive and park fairly easily at this time of year in the station car park. In conclusion, great holiday, great house, great time!

Stayed here recently with our dog and our friends bought their dog. Nice garden (albeit worth noting there is no sun in the garden at any point during the day) everything we needed was at the house. Great location for st Ives and carbis bay beach. Can’t fault the management team they called me ahead of check in and sent numerous emails. Please note if you aren’t staying with kids but adults as we were this house wouldn’t be the most suitable as it’s 2 single beds and bunk beds. And the two rooms after the master bedroom are fairly small but as a family home to rent it is perfect. You won’t find much better. Extras like balcony and log burner are nice touches. Fab stay and would return!

We were impressed by your communication letting us know about the A30 west and the problems on it. We also liked the text on the travel day reminding us about the 1500 arrival time. Once at the property we were impressed by the quality of the build, and the quality of the items within. We were impressed by the dishwasher tablets, washing machine tablets, handwash, toilet brush, hoover, dustpan and brush, bin bags and bleach etc. All this helped us to keep the house clean. The plates, glasses and utensils were in abundance and of good quality. All stuff that enhanced our stay. Pencroft was lovely in general. Lastly Thank you for excellent service and in the main excellent accommodation which led to an excellent holiday.

Having lived in Cornwall for over 40 years, we are very familiar with Carbis Bay, St. Ives and the surrounding areas. Pencroft is in a great location with only a 10 minute walk down to Carbis Bay beach, just be prepared for the steep walk back! The property itself is fantastic, finished to an excellent standard and I'm sure it will be even better in the warmer weather when the large patio doors can be fully opened. Light, airy and wonderfully furnished, you couldn't ask for more. Communication from Sam is fantastic throughout. Can't fault it. The only thing I would say is, the gardener and window cleaner arrived on Friday afternoon whilst we were still at the property. I get that these need to be done for changeover, but to go that one step further, they should be done on a Saturday between 10am and 3pm when there are no guests present. Apart from that, a fantastic holiday.

Fantastic property; perfect for those wanting to holiday with family and dogs. Brilliant enclosed garden. Minutes walk from Carbis Bay beach (it's a steep walk back though - be warned!) and for those with dogs it's a 5 minute drive from Lelant where you can park up and enjoy the huge dog friendly beach on offer Tesco is a 2 minute drive/10 minute walk away I highly recommend the Griffin Inn next door. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for and the food is incredible. The Cornish Arms (I think it's called) down the road was also very nice. All in all a great house and perfect for those with dogs and also anyone wanting to avoid the hussle and bustle of St Ives but be close enough to it to have a walk/drive to visit.

Lovely house with everything you need and in a great location, tesco 2 minutes away, beach a ten minute walk, st ives 15-20 minute walk and are and restaurants available in the village if you can't be bothered to walk into st ives. Parking is ideal and the house has plenty of space indoors and out. Service was excellent and I would happily recommend orange roofs.

Absolutely fabulous property in a great location being close to amenities and a short drive/train journey to beautiful St Ives. Only downside is the wifi which is totally hopeless...Orangeroofs have been superb to deal with and will highly recommend.

Lovely house, very good location just 10 mins walk to Carbis Bay beach and 20 mins walk to St Ives along the delightful coastal path. Pleased to see that the patio/garden is very dog friendly our little Bichon loved it. Had a problem with the central heating but orange roofs could not have responded any better, soon had the problem fixed and all was well....really warm house. The only downside www a very poor wifi system but that is more a South West problem rather than Orange Roofs. Enjoyed the holiday, would recommend Orange Roofs to my friends.

This is a beautiful house, in fact the nicest holiday rental we've stayed in for many years - thank you. It is tastefully decorated, well equipped and has a beautiful garden. The house is spacious and has many windows making it full of light. The sofas are great and lovely to look out into the garden. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom clean with a great shower. Easy to park, close to the sea and good access to St Ives and beyond. Close to Tesco and easy to get to the sports centre. A joy to come back to after days spent walking and sightseeing. We really hope to come back for longer than a week.
