About Shearwater Cottage
Shearwater Cottage is a dog-friendly St Ives holiday cottage that comes with the added bonus of parking directly outside, an enclosed garden plus beautiful sea views from the king size bedrooms. Located on Bowling Green Terrace, it is set above Fore Street so takes just 2 minutes to get to the harbour front where there is a huge choice of eateries and places to drink, galleries, independent shops and of course fabulous beaches. Alfresco dining can be enjoyed on a sunny day from the front garden and, being on Bowling Green Terrace, there is little foot traffic past the garden which promises peacefulness away from the crowds. This beautiful St Ives holiday cottage has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. There are two king size bedrooms with sea views, a twin room and a peaceful room with a desk for working, bookshelves and reading chair (just in case you need to find a little corner of tranquility!).
Shearwater Cottage is perfectly placed to be on Porthmeor Beach within a few minutes walk as well as in the heart of St Ives browsing shops. Porthminster Beach is a 10 minute walk from the cottage and the busy life surrounding the harbour is also just a couple of minutes’ walk away. Light spills into the kitchen through a conservatory roof and the living and dining space continues through the house with the beautiful bay window looking out onto the garden.
As you walk into the kitchen from the back door, you will be welcomed by a bright space with granite worktops, petrol coloured kitchen units, an induction hob with electric oven, dishwasher, coffee machine, washer/ dryer and fridge/ freezer. The flooring is slate so very practical for sweeping up sand after fun days spent on the beach. There is a ground floor shower room with a wash basin and WC just off the kitchen. Step up into the dining room with table, bench seat and dining chairs and a white dresser sits opposite housing glasses and crockery. The colour scheme of grey walls against the painted white wooden floors is so very restful and calming. Walk through into the living room with a 3-seater sofa and three armchairs, Smart TV and decorative fireplace. The living room window is almost floor to ceiling which means the room is filled with the beautiful St Ives light that draws so many artists to the town.
On the first floor, there is a king size bedroom with white wooden floorboards, fluffy bedside rugs, crisp bed linen, wooden shutters and decorative fireplace. Also on the first floor is the family bathroom with bath, shower over, wash basin and WC, a twin bedroom and a peaceful space to work or read away from others in your party. A fairly narrow and steep wooden staircase leads you to the top floor that has fabulous dual-aspect sea views and a king size bed; director chairs are placed in both windows so just relax and soak up the views with your morning coffee.
Up to two mature dogs (dogs over 1 year old) are very welcome at Shearwater Cottage as long as they come with manners and follows our rules. The beaches are a short walk away as are the footpaths that join the South West coastal path where you can reach Zennor in a couple of hours and enjoy lunch at The Tinner's Arms with your dog then catch the bus back. The garden is enclosed by fencing and shrubs and is part decked and part gravel. There is a table with 6 chairs for some evening aperitifs in the sun before heading into the town to sample the amazing choice of restaurants and bars.
To re-cap, Shearwater Cottage guarantees fun St Ives holidays with or without your dog being a stone's throw from beaches, coastal walks and the town centre. It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The top floor bedroom is accessed by wooden stairs that anyone with limited mobility may struggle with. There is an enclosed garden and parking for one car directly outside the cottage. The space dimensions are 250cm wide (at the narrowest point) x 630cm long. Shearwater Cottage is a family-friendly St Ives holiday cottage providing a travel cot and a booster seat. Please note, guests must provide their own travel cot bedding and linen.
Our BMW X3 fits fine but is best to drive past the space and reverse in (best done with parking sensors!).

We had a week stay in Shearwaters cottage and it was absolutely perfect! This was our second year at St Ives and we would definitely go back to Shearwaters cottage or book through Orange roofs. Cottage has everything we needed, beautiful courtyard garden and in a perfect location for us. The parking space was also very handy. I can not fault it and the staff and Orange roofs were brilliant.

We had a lovely stay at Shearwater Cottage and it was the perfect location for a week away with our small dog. It's so central that we were able to pop back to the cottage frequently around paddle boarding and long dog walks. The team at Orange Roofs had great communication and when they found out last minute that there were building works going on next door, they were honest, open and upfront about it and gave us plenty of options, so we decided to go ahead with our trip anyway. We would definitely stay here again, maybe bringing relatives for a mini family trip.

A really lovely cottage for 5 of us including baby Grandson. Perfect location, house and of course St Ives itself. The house had everything you needed and was spotlessly clean. Having our two dogs there was an added bonus! Thank you!

We recently had a 2 week stay at Shearwater Cottage and loved every part of it. St Ives is a delightful location with so much to do and with easy walking access from the cottage it added to the experience. We were particularly delighted to find all the cottage had to offer - in fact it was far more than a cottage. The layout was perfect for us, all of the amenities and inclusions added to the overall experience. Shearwater Cottage was impeccably clean, welcoming and extremely well resourced. Most of all, thanks to the team at Orange Roofs who were awesome both before and during our stay - although we really didn't need anything once we arrived. I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone and thought it was excellent value for the price. Thank you.

A fantastic dog friendly property perfect for our family, great that it has 2 bathrooms with really good showers and and one bath. Perfect position in town for all beaches and amenities. A bonus parking space right outside the door and a garden with plenty of seating outside the front. Spotlessly clean on arrival, amazing views from the top floor bedroom, lovely modern well stocked kitchen. Will definitely stay again.

I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was at Shearwater Cottage! This is the perfect place to call home for a visit to St. Ives. The property is immaculately clean and very nicely furnished. The kitchen is large and functional and leads to the dining room and sitting / living room area. All very spacious and accommodating. There is a bathroom and shower on the entry level, which is fantastic! Upstairs you have a very large bathroom with shower and bath as well as a room with twin beds and another room with a queen sized bed. The beds were very comfortable. At the very top is another private bedroom loft that was also incredible with views looking out across the bay and harbour. Outside in the front garden there is a lovely table where you can enjoy a glass of wine and some nibbles. All in all we absolutely loved our time here and would 100% enquire again when returning to Cornwall.

Great location and well equipped house. Really good customer service on booking and the app was really useful for preparing for the holiday as well as during the stay. I've not stayed anywhere with information provided in this way before and it was really helpful.

Very clean on arrival, lovely quirky beautiful cottage.
Also peaceful. Very close to Porthmeor beach which has the best
sunsets. And only a 5 min walk into the centre of St
Ives
Orange roof tops very helpful as we left and item of
belonging, which they have retrieved and sending
back.
