About 5 Bethesda Hill
**02/11/23 - Polite Notice - Please note there is some building work taking place at the neighbouring property to 5 Bethesda Hill over the next few weeks. Some noise may be heard from the property. If you have any questions or queries, please don't hesitate to get in touch with a member of the team.** 5 Bethesda Hill is a typical St Ives holiday rental in the desirable and much-sought-after Downalong area. Its location means St Ives Harbour Beach is just 30 metres from the front door and Porthmeor Beach is less than a 2-minute walk from the cottage. It’s so quintessentially St Ives being on a cobbled pedestrian-only lane and within a stone’s throw of the water’s edge. Just metres from the front door is The Wharf which hugs the beach and harbour front where boats are moored with the tide in or a huge expanse of the beach when the tide is out. Along the Wharf are a handful of galleries, cocktail and tapas bars and the Caffe Pasta restaurant. Smeaton’s Pier is very close by as is Fore Street which is lined with independent shops, beautiful galleries, coffee shops and delicious delis! The path past the house is a quiet one where footfall is at a minimum so book 5 Bethesda Hill and you will be in the very heart of St Ives where everything is super accessible yet in a peaceful pocket where your sleep and privacy are key.
5 Bethesda Hill is suitable for couples searching for a romantic holiday cottage in St Ives or for a small family needing to be close to all amenities and beaches. The nearest car park is The Island just a two-minute walk from the cottage. During busier times, if The Island car park is full, we suggest using the larger car parks of St Ives that are a 20-minute walk or a very quick and cheap taxi ride with all your luggage.
This beautiful cottage has so many characterful features where the owners have retained its coastal holiday cottage beauty as well as offering a warm welcome and plenty of comfort for your holiday. It's not a modern white box with super slick fixtures and features, it has an authentic St Ives holiday cottage feel where you will feel immersed in the St Ives life. Walk into the slate-floored kitchen off the cobbled pedestrian lane outside with open shelving on the wall and a hand-crafted wooden kitchen and cement worktop. It comes with an under-counter fridge with a freezer compartment, dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob and microwave. Fancy a cuppa? Take your time and pop the Le Creuset kettle on the gas hob while taking a seat at the dining table with two benches that seat 4 people. The AEG washing machine is in an understairs cupboard in the kitchen. On this floor, there is a bathroom with a smaller size tub (but perfect for little people!) with a rain shower head over. Look up when in this bathroom and enjoy the sunlight flooding through the stained glass window. On the opposite wall is a feature wooden wall which offers a warm tone to the bathroom. The warm feeling will also be offered by the very large towel radiator. There is also a large wash basin and WC in this ground-floor bathroom.
Head up to the first floor via the wooden staircase to the living room with its large sofa wrapping the room up in a great big embrace. There is plenty of room to stretch out and relax while reading or watching the Smart TV with Apps so you can log in to watch your favourite programmes. There is an Alexa Bluetooth speaker to play your own music through plus a small selection of games like Scrabble and Guess Who? Another flight of wooden stairs takes you to the bedrooms and the second bathroom. As you reach the landing, being a typical St Ives cottage where nothing is perfectly straight or even, there are a few steps down into the bathroom that has a large walk-in shower, WC, towel radiator and wash basin. From that same landing, a few steps down takes you into the second bedroom that has a small double bunk bed. The bottom bed is a 4ft small double and the top bunk is a 3ft single. There is a chest of drawers and wooden pegs for hanging clothes. The master bedroom is at the front of the cottage with a beautiful loft ceiling with wooden rafters and Velux windows allowing light to stream in (when you want it!). There is a built-in wardrobe, bedside tables, a window seat, chest of drawers and a king-size bed.
To recap, 5 Bethesda HIll is a wonderful example of a St Ives holiday cottage in the very heart of this coastal town. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a ground-floor kitchen and a first-floor living room. The bedrooms and one of the bathrooms are on the second floor. There is also a ground floor bathroom with WC. There are stairs leading up to and throughout the cottage so not suitable for guests unable to tackle stairs. This cottage is perfect for couples wanting to be within moments of St Ives beaches, shops, coffee and cocktail bars, restaurants and galleries yet want a peaceful cottage location. It's also perfect for small families who want to use a cottage as a fabulous beach base. Towels and bed linen are provided but please bring your own beach towels. Sadly dogs are not allowed at 5 Bethesda Hil and there is no allocated parking but The Island public car park is a very short walk from the cottage.
Please note well, the sofa has feather-filled sofa seats so not suitable for guests with a severe feather allergy.

Nice little cottage in a great location. Everything was
spotlessly clean, and the thoughtful touches, such as the coffee,
tea and milk, added a personal touch to our
stay.
We would definitely stay there again.

We loved this house! Really nicely decorated and clean, with everything we needed there. It's in a great location (perfect for taking your morning cup of tea down to the beach!) and feels really homely. For a family, it's a real bonus having 2 lovely bathrooms too. We can't wait to go back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Bethesda Hill. A lovely cottage with just about enough space for our family of 4. Comfortable furnishings, fluffy towels, quality bedding. Brilliant location just off the harbour with lots of opportunities for exploring different beaches, and easy access to chips and ice cream for the kids!
