About Ahoy There

Ahoy There is a traditional holiday cottage in St Ives that has the added luxury of parking nearby. Its location makes this cottage very sought-after being in the heart of St Ives' historic Downalong area on Island Road. This beautiful self-catering cottage in St Ives offers 3 bedrooms, 3 ensuite bathrooms (plus additional WC), a sheltered balcony off the master bedroom suite, a small outside area off the kitchen with bench seat and a place to wash off and hang wetsuits and, naturally, thanks to its superb location means you are just moments from Porthgwidden and Porthmeor beaches.

This boutique cottage offers a warm welcome and embraces couples and families wanting a holiday cottage in St Ives near a beach. Within just 250 metres, you will be sinking your toes into the fine, white sand and gazing out to the crystal-clear turquoise sea. Once off the beach, there is a cold water hose to wash off your wetsuits and a place to hang them to dry. If you want to stroll to the shops, restaurants, coffee and cocktail bars, galleries and traditional Cornish pubs then all these can be reached within a very short and relatively flat walk from the cottage's front door. Book a holiday at this holiday cottage and enjoy the use of one parking space just off Porthmeor Hill so just a short walk (8 minutes at most) from the cottage itself.

Being in the Downalong area of St Ives, Ahoy There is a perfect place for exploring this award-winning coastal town. Whether it's a beach and active watersport holiday, a break away to relax and recuperate from busy lives or a cultured few days to mooch around galleries and try some painting lessons of your own at St Ives School of Painting, everything you could possibly wish for is within easy reach of the cottage. This gorgeous cottage has three floors with the bedrooms being on the first and second floors. The front door opens onto Island Road (very near the Island itself) from where you enter the holiday cottage living room area with a large 3-seater sofa, chair with footstool, window seat and additional seating on a large square ottoman. For cosy evenings or winter breaks away, there is a log burner that will make you want to curl up with a good book and drift away into a restful sleep. The artwork throughout is reflective of your destination with a beautiful coastal feel. The Smart TV allows access to Apps you log into at home so you can enjoy your own watch-list accounts such as Netflix, iPlayer, ITVHub and Amazon Prime. Leading from the living room via a few steps down is the spacious kitchen boasting all the appliances you need from a boutique holiday cottage in St Ives. You can expect to find a dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, double range oven with gas hob, combined washing machine/tumble dryer and microwave as well as a Nespresso coffee machine. If you like cooking whilst listening to some relaxing tunes, there is a DAB Roberts Radio. A stable door leads outside from the kitchen, where you'll find a bench seat and an area where surfboards and bikes can be locked up as well as wetsuits hung to dry after washing off the sand with a cold water hosepipe. Guests who have stayed at and love Ahoy There have said just how wonderful having the stable back door is when on holiday with small children; it's very safe and easy to access from the beach particularly if laden with lots of beach stuff! You have ample space to store buckets, spades and shoes in the large basket provided.

The living room has a staircase that leads upstairs to the first floor where you will find two bedrooms both with en-suite facilities as well as a convenient separate WC. One bedroom offers either a configuration of a 6ft wide (please note it is 6ft 3" long) super king bed or it can be split into two 3ft single beds and it has an en-suite shower room. The other bedroom is a twin room with 2 single beds and an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. Another small, narrow staircase leads up to the top-floor master double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. This bedroom has been cleverly crafted to offer a beautiful loft conversion featuring exposed beams and a sheltered balcony with a bistro table and 2 chairs from where you can see the headland above Porthmoer beach where the sun sets, so be prepared to witness some stupendous sunset views. A strategically placed Velux window offers a view of St Nicholas' Chapel perched on the top of 'The Island', the renowned peninsula between Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beaches. All 3 bedrooms offer quality beds and mattresses and wall-mounted TVs with terrestrial channels only.

If you are going to enjoy your St Ives' holiday with your little ones, there is a travel cot and high chair available so save space in your car!

To re-cap, Ahoy There is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom (with extra WC) cottage on Island Road in the heart of Downalong and within 30 seconds walk of both Porthgwidden and Porthmeor beach. It comes with one parking space, the dimensions are - front of space 290cm, back of space 240cm, space is 460cm deep, so please check your car dimensions and if it will fit before booking. It welcomes couples and families but sadly dogs are not accepted at this cottage. Due to the narrow staircase going to the top floor, it may not be suitable for the very young or adults that find climbing stairs difficult.

6 of us enjoyed a week staying in Ahoy There on Island Road this Easter. The weather was wild at the start of the week and the house was warm. It's a thoughtfully and well appointed house on three levels. We agreed there was everything in the house that we needed- as well appointed as at home. It was great to have en-suite bathrooms with every bedroom as no one had to wait too long to get a shower after a swim in the cold sea. The towels provided are soft and a step up from the usual towels supplied in holiday rent property. The beds were all comfortable too. The only downside is that the living room area is too small to be comfortable for six and the one single chair was surprisingly hard. You need to be physically fit if you are in the top bedroom as the stairs are steep. Due to the time of year we were there, Island Road wasn't too busy either with people or vehicles and there was even space to park a car in the Island car park. A car parking space is included in the rental which is located about 15 minutes away: it will be very useful later in the season when the lower car parks get full. Ahoy There is well situated for the harbour, Porthgwidden and porthmeor beaches. We've stayed in many houses in StIves and Ahoy There is towards the top of our list. Well recommended.

Beautifully appointed cottage in an excellent position close to several beaches in St Ives. Large kitchen/dining space, beautiful top floor master bedroom with balcony overlooking St Ives. Good ratio of bedrooms to bathrooms. Close the many great retaurants, bars and cafes. Parking space with the cottage is a 10.min walk with a brief steep hill, but good to have a guaranteed space. Staff very helpful and sorted out any issues we had. Would definitely stay again.

Our 4th time with Orange Roofs and once again a fantastic property. Ahoy There was excellently equipped throughout especially in the kitchen. A welcome pack of milk, butter eggs, fruit cake, a pack of Cornish Fairings, a box of Cornish tea and a bottle of Prosecco was an unexpected but very welcome surprise! Ahoy There's position on Island Road, a stone's throw from the Island carpark, is quiet but just a 2 or 3 minute walk from both sides of St Ives. 10 out of 10, we will be back!

Very well appointed house in prime location for St. Ives. Three bedrooms, all of a generous size and all en-suite. Not much usable outdoor space but who needs that when you have some of the best beaches in Europe just a couple of minutes walk. The parking space isn't too far away and you can load/unload the car very close to the property without blocking the road.
Will defo stay here again.
