About Duck Down
Duck Down is a charming one-bedroom holiday apartment in St Ives, tucked away on Teetotal Street in the sought-after Downalong area. Sleeping two guests, this ground-floor self-catering apartment is just moments from Porthgwidden and Porthmeor beaches, with St Ives Harbour, Tate St Ives, restaurants, cafés, galleries and shops all within easy walking distance. Kitchen & Dining
The kitchen forms part of the open-plan living space and is well equipped for a relaxed self-catering stay.
Facilities include an oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, filter coffee machine and washing machine, along with pots, pans, crockery and cutlery for two guests.
A breakfast bar with stools provides a compact and convenient dining area for breakfast, light meals or an evening drink.
Living
The living area is warm and comfortable, with a cosy sofa providing a relaxing place to unwind after a day exploring St Ives.
There is a Smart TV for entertainment, along with Alexa and a flame-effect fire operated by remote control, helping create a welcoming atmosphere during cooler stays.
The open-plan layout keeps the living, kitchen and dining areas sociable while still feeling cosy and intimate.
Bedroom
Duck Down has one cosy double bedroom.
The bedroom includes a double bed, wardrobe, bedside tables and reading lamps, providing everything needed for a comfortable stay for two guests. Please be mindful that tall guests may need to duck between rooms!

The bedroom has its own en-suite shower room with a shower cubicle, wash basin and WC.
Outdoor Space
Duck Down does not have private outdoor space.
However, its central Downalong location means Porthgwidden Beach, Porthmeor Beach, St Ives Harbour and The Island are all just moments from the front door.
Close to Beach
Duck Down is ideally positioned for guests wanting to enjoy St Ives' beaches and harbour on foot.
Porthgwidden Beach and Porthmeor Beach are both only a very short walk away, while St Ives Harbour can be reached in around a minute.
Porthminster Beach is the furthest of St Ives' main beaches from the apartment and is still only around an eight-minute walk away.
Tate St Ives, St Nicholas Chapel, Fore Street, restaurants, cafés, bakeries, galleries, pubs and independent shops are also all within easy walking distance.
Access
Duck Down is a ground-floor, single-storey apartment, with all accommodation arranged on one level.
Its location on Teetotal Street also provides relatively easy access to the surrounding Downalong area and harbourfront.
There is no allocated parking with the property. The Island Car Park is the closest public car park, approximately a couple of minutes' walk away. Barnoon Car Park and St Ives Rugby Club provide further parking options if The Island is full.
St Ives railway station is approximately an eight-minute walk from the apartment, making arriving by train a convenient alternative.

we had a lovely time at Duckdown it wss very nice property very compact easy to get round and not far from the shops every thingc we needed in the kitchen the bed wss comfy and an onsuite bathroom and st ives is very nice plenty of shops places to go for lunch or dinner

I thoroughly enjoyed my recent two week stay at Duck Down in St Ives. The cottage is cute and compact and cosy and provides you with everything you could need. The facilities are very high standard and the bed linen and towels are super soft. I would definitely stay again and can't wait to rebook. Thank you.

Lovely cosy cottage for a couple or lone traveller. Great location. My partner is 6'3 " so the low doorways were a minor problem… but all in all had a lovely week in St.Ives..

Just home from the most fantastic break staying at Duck Down. The location was so handy for daily swims, bars, restaurants and the shops. The accommodation was so cosy, with everything we needed. Highly recommend. We have booked for next year already.

Lovely cosy place to stay, perfect for 2 people. Very convenient for the harbour, beaches, shops and restaurants. We travelled by train, found we didn't need a car at all, both local bus and train services are very reliable. Great communication from the letting company, with detailed clear instructions covering everything you need to know. We look forward to staying again on our next visit!

A small but perfect cottage for two, well equipped in an ideal location. Doorway and bathroom have low ceiling height which may be tricky for those over 5ft 9. Bedroom is very small but bed is very comfortable. Very impressed with Orange roofs. Excellent communication throughout and small issue was sorted promptly during our stay.

Just what we wanted from our accommodation, was a cosy house, no noise from other neighbours. Bedroom small but no issues , bath/shower is hard work for a taller person but we made do and wouldn't put us off staying again. Would love the option to take 1 dog there. Lovely location , really quiet.

Fantastic little apartment for a week away. Lovely & clean. Tea, biscuits & coffee provided - on arrival these were really well received after a long drive. I would definitely return and recommend.

Wonderful stay at Duck Down St Ives. Lovely cottage on a quiet street but very much at the centre of St Ives Harbour area. The cottage though small is perfectly furnished with a very comfortable bed and sofa. Would highly recommend.

Duck Down was the perfect cottage for us as I was
attending an Art course at St Ives Art school - just short walk
along the road. 5 minutes from all the beaches, shopping, Tate, and
10 minutes to Barbara Hepworth garden - heaven! But on a quiet
street.

Duck down was a brilliant location within St Ives. So close to porthmeor, porthgwidden and bamaluz beaches as well as the harbour and all the bars and restaurants. The accomodation was on the smaller side but perfect for a couple and it's on a nice and quiet street. Bus and train stations were approx 15min walk away.

A little traditional 2 room cottage with low ceilings and
door frames,so one has to "Duck Down" It is nice and clean with
modern fixtures and fittings in the kitchen/lounge and bathroom.
Tiny bedroom with comfy double bed.
A great location for a couple who are happy to take it easy
when holidaying in St Ives and to walk to the beaches, sights and
eateries.
The car parking can be hit and miss in this part of the
world. We got the week rover ticket from Cornwall council and
always got a spot in the island car park a few minutes walk away
but it was off season.
Orange roofs app worked well and great support through
booking, staying and on leaving day.
