About Ahoy There
Ahoy There is a traditional three-bedroom holiday cottage in St Ives, set in the heart of the historic Downalong area on Island Road. Sleeping up to six guests, this characterful self-catering cottage has three en-suite bathrooms, an additional WC, nearby allocated parking and excellent access to Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beaches. With a sheltered balcony, practical outdoor space for beach gear and St Ives Harbour, shops, galleries, restaurants and cafés all within easy walking distance, Ahoy There is an ideal choice for families or couples wanting a central St Ives holiday cottage close to the coast.
Kitchen & Dining
A few steps down from the living room lead into the spacious kitchen, which is well equipped for relaxed self-catering stays.
Facilities include a dishwasher, large fridge-freezer, double range oven with gas hob, microwave and combined washing machine and tumble dryer. A Nespresso coffee machine and DAB Roberts Radio are also provided.
There is plenty of space for preparing family meals, while the stable door at the rear provides easy access to the outside area and makes returning from the beach particularly convenient.
Living
The front door opens directly into the welcoming living room, where a three-seater sofa, armchair with footstool, window seat and large ottoman provide comfortable seating.
A log burner makes the room particularly cosy during autumn and winter stays, while coastal artwork throughout reflects the cottage's St Ives setting.
The Smart TV allows guests to log into their own streaming accounts, including services such as Netflix, BBC iPlayer and Amazon Prime.
Bedrooms
Ahoy There has three bedrooms arranged across the first and second floors.
On the first floor, one bedroom can be arranged as either a super king-size bed in width or two three-foot single beds. The joined bed is six feet three inches long. This bedroom has an en-suite shower room.
The second first-floor bedroom is a twin room with two single beds and an en-suite bathroom.
A narrow staircase leads to the top-floor double bedroom, which has exposed beams, a loft-style feel and its own sheltered balcony.
All three bedrooms have wall-mounted televisions with terrestrial channels.
Bathrooms
Each of the three bedrooms has its own en-suite bathroom or shower room with wash basins and WCs.
The flexible super king or twin bedroom has an en-suite shower room.
The first-floor twin bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower.
The top-floor double bedroom has an en-suite shower room.
There is also a separate WC on the first floor for additional convenience.
Outdoor Space
Ahoy There doesn't strictly have its own enclosed courtyard but at the rear of the cottage is a small but very practical outside area, accessed directly from the kitchen through the stable door. It is part of the lane that follows behind all the houses on Island Road and Ahoy There has its own section.
There is a bench seat, space to store and secure surfboards and bikes, hooks for hanging wetsuits and a cold-water hose for rinsing off sand after the beach.
The top-floor double bedroom also has a sheltered private balcony with a bistro table and two chairs, offering views towards the headland above Porthmeor Beach and a lovely spot for watching the evening sky.
Parking
Guests have use of one allocated parking space just off Porthmeor Hill, approximately an eight-minute walk from the cottage.
The space is narrower towards the rear, so guests should check their vehicle dimensions before booking.
The parking space measures approximately 290cm wide at the front, 240cm wide at the back and 460cm deep.
Close to Beach
Ahoy There is exceptionally well positioned for beach holidays in St Ives.
Both Porthgwidden Beach and Porthmeor Beach are only moments from the cottage, while St Ives Harbour, Fore Street and the surrounding galleries, restaurants, coffee shops, pubs and independent shops are all within a short and relatively level walk.
The location is equally suited to surfing and beach days, relaxed coastal breaks or exploring the town's art and culture, with Tate St Ives and St Ives School of Painting also nearby.
Access
Ahoy There is arranged over three floors.
The living room and kitchen with dining area are on the ground floor, two bedrooms and the separate WC are on the first floor, and the third bedroom is on the top floor.
The staircase leading to the top-floor bedroom is narrow, so the property may not be suitable for very young children or guests who find stairs difficult.
There are also a few internal steps between the living room and kitchen.

We loved staying at Ahoy There. A perfect location in St Ives, close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. The house was beautifully furnished, clean, very comfortable and well appointed, perfect for our family of four adults.

'Ahoy There!' Is a clean, tidy and well equipped three-storey house ideally placed for Porthmeor and Porthgwidden Beaches as well as the centre of St Ives. We had a wonderful week staying in the house and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others or in returning ourselves.

We spent another week in a house from "Orange Roofs." It was immaculate once again. The house was superbly equipped. Great rooms, fantastic bathrooms, very tasteful and cozy. Top-notch organization, as always. We can recommend it 110%

Just back from a lovely stay at Ahoy there . The property is in an excellent position just minutes from both porthgwidden and porthmeor beach. We found the cottage a lovely place to stay . The only downside was the size of the living room not really much room if there is six people staying . The sofa could do with replacing . That said the kitchen is large and extremely well equipped . The outside space would benefit from a table and chairs rather than the wooden bench . Bedrooms are all good especially the top floor with the balcony. Overall we had a good stay and would recommend the property .

Fabulous location, perfect for easy trips to many beaches. Clean, modern, comfortable, relaxing accommodation with a wonderful 'welcome pack'. Great communication. Ahoy There has plenty of amenities and every bedroom has its own en-suite. Easy to stop close by to pack/unpack your car (luggage). Close to pubs, restaurants, shops. Would definitely recommend Ahoy There to others. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

What great views can been seen from the top bedroom velux and amazing sunsets from the top bedroom balcony. Superb property, good attention to detail. I asked my partner what score he would give and he said 9 out of 10, to get a 10 it needs an outside warm shower. He's picky but that would be the icing on the cake. 3 en suit bedrooms and a spare toilet what more could you want. Booked to return same time next year.

We stayed at the Ahoy There cottage and was very pleased with our choice. The décor is clean and comforting and the cottage is equipped with everything that you could possibly need for a self catering stay. The bed linen and towels are lovely, the bedrooms are light and cosy and the beds are comfortable too. We are a family of five, all adults and found the lay out and ensuites great and there is a separate toilet on the first floor too, which is really helpful. The furniture in the lounge is not the comfiest but not terrible either. There are plenty of cushions to help make it a little better. The position is fabulous and we were so pleased about that. Overall we would recommend this property and would stay again too.

Great from start to finish, easy booking process, great house a stones throw away from the beaches, town and an added bonus of a reserved parking space (providing no one has dumped there car there!) Would absolutely recommend and would have booked it again for the same time next year but its already been taken!

6 of us enjoyed a week staying in Ahoy There on Island Road this Easter. The weather was wild at the start of the week and the house was warm. It's a thoughtfully and well appointed house on three levels. We agreed there was everything in the house that we needed- as well appointed as at home. It was great to have en-suite bathrooms with every bedroom as no one had to wait too long to get a shower after a swim in the cold sea. The towels provided are soft and a step up from the usual towels supplied in holiday rent property. The beds were all comfortable too. The only downside is that the living room area is too small to be comfortable for six and the one single chair was surprisingly hard. You need to be physically fit if you are in the top bedroom as the stairs are steep. Due to the time of year we were there, Island Road wasn't too busy either with people or vehicles and there was even space to park a car in the Island car park. A car parking space is included in the rental which is located about 15 minutes away: it will be very useful later in the season when the lower car parks get full. Ahoy There is well situated for the harbour, Porthgwidden and porthmeor beaches. We've stayed in many houses in StIves and Ahoy There is towards the top of our list. Well recommended.

Beautifully appointed cottage in an excellent position close to several beaches in St Ives. Large kitchen/dining space, beautiful top floor master bedroom with balcony overlooking St Ives. Good ratio of bedrooms to bathrooms. Close the many great retaurants, bars and cafes. Parking space with the cottage is a 10.min walk with a brief steep hill, but good to have a guaranteed space. Staff very helpful and sorted out any issues we had. Would definitely stay again.

Our 4th time with Orange Roofs and once again a fantastic property. Ahoy There was excellently equipped throughout especially in the kitchen. A welcome pack of milk, butter eggs, fruit cake, a pack of Cornish Fairings, a box of Cornish tea and a bottle of Prosecco was an unexpected but very welcome surprise! Ahoy There's position on Island Road, a stone's throw from the Island carpark, is quiet but just a 2 or 3 minute walk from both sides of St Ives. 10 out of 10, we will be back!

Very well appointed house in prime location for St. Ives.
Three bedrooms, all of a generous size and all en-suite. Not much
usable outdoor space but who needs that when you have some of the
best beaches in Europe just a couple of minutes walk. The parking
space isn't too far away and you can load/unload the car very close
to the property without blocking the road.
Will defo stay here again.
