Lovely return stay at Island retreat . Fabulous location right by Porthgwidden Beach and the Island car park. Spacious and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Lovely welcome pack on arrival Shall definitely be returning

This is the third time we stay at Island Retreat. The flat is spacious and well appointed. The place has been very well mantained over the years. The management company is kind, efficient and responsive. The location is unbeatable, a few steps to the beach and all amenities in St Ives. Some times I miss the ocean views but the compensation to that is that the place is quiet and away from the goings and comings of beachgoers. We will be back.

Thank you to all the team at Orange Roofs who make amazing holidays happen. The property was exactly as described, immaculately clean and in the most brilliant location. From initial booking, confirmation and instructions to access the property to communication during our stay - everything was well organised and easy. Thanks again, we will definitely be booking through yourselves in the future.

Island Retreat is such a spacious cottage. It felt very homely and comfortable. We loved it that much we had booked it again for next summer ❤️☀️

The accommodation was perfect for six adults and a dog. Two bathrooms, one en suite and downstairs toilet and utility room. Location was perfect with easy access to Porthmeor and Portgwidden Beaches and town centre. Two minute walk to Island car park. accommodation was well equipped with WiFi and all mod cons and also tastefully decorated. Instructions from Orange Roof easy to follow as was the App. I would recommend this cottage and Orange Roofs

Excellent location right near beaches and Harbour front. Lovely spacious property for 6 Adults. Well equipped.

A very comfortable apartment very close to the beach. We were fortunate to have good weather so spent many hours out and about. If we had had to spend a lot of time indoors I think we might have found the lack of light in the living room a little oppressive.

We loved our stay at Island Retreat. The house is in a great location, next to the island car park and round the corner from Porthgwidden beach. It's a short walk to Porthmeor beach or into the centre. The house itself was modern and well equipped with everything we needed for a week's stay with small children. Downstairs felt spacious, with the benefit of a downstairs loo and washer/dryer. We had a travel cot in the double room (not the master with en suite) and it was tight but we managed. A high chair was included and in the main bathroom there was a non-slip mat which was so helpful for bathtime. Loads of storage in all of the bedrooms. They also provided a welcome pack with tea, coffee, bread, butter, biscuits and milk. The only downside was that the house felt quite dark because it's tucked away but we were mostly out and about in the daytime anyway. The outside shower and slabbed outside area was also great for rinsing off after the beach and storing sandy toys. This is a really lovely house and the owners have thought of everything from a wash basket to a thermos for the beach!

Nice flat ideal located to pothgwidden beach an island head (dogwalks) with plenty of space at the ground floor. The only reason why i can't give 5 stars is the necessitiy of artifical light all day long.

Lovely property, clean and perfectly appointed with everything you need. Great position next to Porthgwidden beach and 5 minutes from the shops and restaurants. Beds were comfortable, bedding and towels clean and plentiful. Car parking space was a huge benefit.

What a marvellous stay we had at Island Retreat. We were very well looked after from the start, with support during the booking process to ensure the property was ideal for us. During our stay, any contact needed was easy - it was good to have contact for the person doing turnaround at the end too. The property itself was clean and well-presented, with a most helpful welcome pack. It was such a comfortable place to stay - great beds, bedding and a good "spring" to the carpeted areas. Provisioning was good - we had everything we needed. There was plenty of space for the 4 of us staying across the 3 bedrooms, with our dog enjoying being close to The Island for his morning and evening strolls. Easy to sweep up any sand coming in downstairs too. Due to the location, it was a very quiet place to stay, which was most welcome - no evening festivities nearby to disturb our sleep (which can be an issue sometimes if staying closer/ in town). The location was super, close to our two favourite beaches (Porthmeor and Porthgwidden) and a quick stroll to the town for pasties. We had a lovely stay - many thanks.

Island Retreat was/is an exceptional holiday let with open plan living and all you need. The location is perfect for access to beaches and all other amenities such as shops, pubs and restaurants. Orange Roofs as a letting agent are slick with booking and property information via their app. Cannot fault it.

We have stayed in many rental properties around St Ives. This was one we would return to. Comfortable, clean, well equipped and very close to the beaches.

Thank you Orange Roof for amazing service. The communication before, during and after was the best we have experienced and will definitely recommend you. Island Retreat is in a fantastic location in Downalong, the beaches are only moments away. The apartment was very clean, kitchen well stocked and spacious with its open plan layout. The welcome basket was a lovely touch too! I can't recommend this accommodation highly enough. We hope to be back again one day!

I cant recomend Island Retreat highly enough, this is the second time we have stayed here.
the fixtures and fittings are all first class, the beds are very comfortable and the house is spotless. The house is right on the doorstep of both Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beaches and only a 5 minute stroll to the harbour ,shops and restaurants so very conviently placed

Always book with Orange Roofs their standard of property's is excellent, also staff are always very pleasant & helpful. See you next year.

Absolutely perfect beautiful property very clean very comfy and close to parking and the beach. It was loverly to arrive and have basics to be able to make a hot drink

We have just stayed at Island Retreat in St Ives for the 2nd time in 4 years. It was a thoroughly enjoyable holiday as usual. The apartment is beautifully appointed and everything was just perfect. I can honestly say that 'Orange Roofs' were absolutely brilliant as usual to deal with. 

Communication, the property folder and general information about the property was first-class!

Just come back from a fabulous weekend in St.Ives, staying at The Island Retreat. The property itself was very modern and clean and well equipped (including outside shower for wetsuits and sandy feet!). The parking was a real bonus for St. Ives and the property was ideally located between Porthdwidden and Porthmeor beach! Would definitely recommend and will be returning !

We stayed at the Island Retreat and it was a beautiful property and very clean.
Perfectly located just a few minutes walk away from the island and Porthmoer beach. A five minute walk and you are on the harbour too.
We will definitely be booking again! Soon!

We first stayed at this place 52 years ago with my percents, it was then a first floor flat , I was excited to book as we had two vey happy holidays at Rockcliffe and wow what a change, it's now a 3 bedroom Ed house and is finished to the highest standard.Upon arrival there was a lovely welcome pack, all high quality goodies, the house was immaculate we were so impressed that I booked for Sept 2023. I can't fault the position right by Porthwigdden beach and I can throughly recommend this property, Kim Vanderlee

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that property doesn't have a sea view and downstairs can be a little on the dark side. However the location is ideal for the beach, it's spacious, and comes with the added benefit of parking. There is everything you need to enjoy your holiday including 3 toilets! The property was beautifully presented and only wish we could have got in before 5pm, you do feel like you're missing a day of your holiday. Would happily stay here again.

We have stayed at Island Retreat many times now. The location is perfect for a family beach holiday. The on-site garage is a real bonus however I think this facility isn't available next year. This year we have had a lovely holiday and overall the accommodation was still good. There has been a change of ownership recently and we noticed a few little extra things that were missing, for example board games and dvds. The accomodations cleanliness is usually top notch however this year we didn't feel it was as good (dust under the fire place and on shelving). Outside area was covered in sand and hadn't been swept or washed from previous occupiers. The towels and bedding are lovely quality and the goody hamper left for us was lovely. We really do enjoy our stays at Island Retreat and would recommend the property. Orange Roofs are a great company to book through and their staff are very helpful.

The games, DVDs etc were removed during the pandemic and perhaps had not been returned given the change in ownership around the same time but we will happily suggest to Adam and Claire (the lovely new owners of Island Retreat) that some games would be a welcome addition to their holiday home. I will certainly pass on your comments to the housekeepers of Island Retreat about the cleanliness issues you found on arrival. We always encourage any disappointment in cleaning to be reported to us on the day of arrival so we can get it rectified that same day, the housekeepers do their best on busy changeovers but sometimes areas may get missed unintentionally and they are very happy to re-attend to recitfy things when asked.

Our 4th time at island retreat and again delivered 100% obviously one of the big pluses is parking…for anyone booking we have a Kia Sportage and fits in the garage no problem. Kitchen is very well equipped as this year we actually (well I) cooked breakfast most days, the outside shower is a godsend after a day on the beach of which you gave 2 within minutes to use…my favourite is Porthgwidden, your also close to some lovely eateries…The Loft, The Mermaid, The captains Table at The Sloop and Cafe Pasta are favourites of ours. Not the only property we've booked via Orange Roofs and definitely not the last…looking forward to our next visit

The people in the office and the house keeper, who we met, were exceptionally kind and helpful! We were delighted to find everything we needed waiting for us, from plenty of loo roll to a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge! Fresh milk, teas, coffee and even a loaf of delicious, local bread, eggs and Cornish butter were just what we wanted after our long journey- what an amazing treat! The towels were fresh and plentiful, the sheets and beds clean and comfortable -absolutely great! Being able to park in the garage took away all the stresses of unloading a car on a narrow street! We knew the location was perfect but the little things like dishwasher tablets and hand soap, just made everything so much easier - thank you!!

We had a great week over New Year at Island Retreat. A beautiful, well presented property with ample equipment and seating. The garage was a bonus. Would definitely use the property again.

Just had a fabulous week staying in Island Retreat.A perfect home from home.Well equipped with everything you could need.Our first time holidaying in November and it didn't disappoint.All the little touches like tea,coffee,hand soaps,washing up liquid etc were much appreciated.The location for us was perfect right between porthmeor and porthgwidden beaches and only 3 minutes down to the harbour.Having a private garage was an added bonus.Overall we had a very comfortable relaxing stay and we wouldn't hesitate to book this property again in the future.

Stayed at Island Retreat for a week, location was perfect, 5 minutes walk from the town centre, 2 mins walk to the beach. The added bonus was having a garage. The house was spotless and everything was made easy by Orange Roofs. Would love to come back and would certainly recommend staying here.

Beautifully decorated, very comfortable, amazing location. There is absolutely everything you need for a comfortable holiday stay. Plenty of storage space. Beds are very comfy. Everything is incredibly clean. Customer services are fantastic, also the app and text messages/email correspondence. Do not hesitate to use orange roofs and stay at Island retreat.

We had a lovely time at Island Retreat. We have been visiting St Ives for over 30 years and this was a great place to stay. There were 6 of us so full use was made of the whole upstairs and was good to have an en suite too. The garage was a huge advantage even though the weather was so good we never used the car once! Will definitely book to return. The Orange Roofs team were helpful and the booking process was very slick and we were kept informed every step of the way! Thank you.
