About Tinhay

Tinhay is a spacious dog-friendly holiday cottage in St Ives with beautiful sea views, three bedrooms and two bathrooms plus an additional ground-floor shower room. Sleeping up to six guests, this stylish self-catering cottage has a private front garden, allocated parking nearby and an excellent location just a few minutes’ walk from Porthmeor Beach, Tate St Ives, Fore Street and the harbour. With generous living space, flexible sleeping arrangements and far-reaching coastal views from the front bedrooms and garden, Tinhay is an ideal choice for families, friends or couples looking for a comfortable St Ives stay close to the sea.

Kitchen & Dining

The bright ground-floor kitchen is finished with white marble worktops, a Belfast sink and integrated appliances including an oven, hob and dishwasher.

A separate walk-in larder provides useful additional storage and also houses the microwave and washer-dryer.

The dining area sits just beyond the kitchen and comfortably seats up to six guests, making it a sociable space for family meals or evenings spent playing games together.

The owners also provide a selection of games including Monopoly and Uno.

Living

One step up from the dining area leads into the comfortable living room.

A large L-shaped sofa with cushions and throws provides plenty of space to relax, while a Smart TV allows guests to log into their own streaming accounts such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.

There is also Alexa for music and a small library of books for quieter evenings.

Doors open directly from the living room onto the front garden, allowing guests to enjoy the sea views from both inside and outside.

Bedrooms

Tinhay has three bedrooms arranged across the first and top floors.

On the first floor is a king-size bedroom with wonderful sea views, a Smart TV and Alexa.

Also on this floor is a cosy double bedroom overlooking Bowling Green Lane to the rear of the house.

The top-floor principal bedroom has two three-foot single beds joined together to create a super king-size bed in width. This room can also be arranged as a twin on request.

The top-floor bedroom enjoys particularly impressive sea views stretching towards Porthminster Beach and also has a Smart TV and Alexa.

Please let Orange Roofs know your preferred bed configuration when booking.

Bathrooms

Tinhay has two full bathrooms plus an additional ground-floor shower room.

On the first floor is the family bathroom with a freestanding bath, handheld shower attachment, wash basin and WC.

The top-floor principal bedroom has an en-suite shower room with a large walk-in shower, wash basin and WC.

On the ground floor is an additional shower room, which does not have a WC. This is particularly useful after swimming or surfing and includes a Belfast sink, additional worktop space and storage.

Outdoor Space

At the front of Tinhay is a private garden with an outdoor dining set and lovely sea views.

The garden is a pleasant place for breakfast, an evening drink or simply sitting outside and enjoying the coastal outlook.

Doors from the living room open directly onto the garden, creating an easy flow between the indoor and outdoor spaces.

The ground-floor shower room is also useful for rinsing wetsuits, sandy feet and paws before settling back into the house.

Dog-Friendly

One well-behaved small adult dog weighing no more than 12kg is welcome at Tinhay.

Guests bringing a dog should provide their own dog bed, towels and throws, and dogs must be well behaved and well mannered within the cottage.

The garden and ground-floor shower room are particularly useful for guests returning from beach or coastal walks with a dog.

Close to Beach

Porthmeor Beach is the closest beach to Tinhay and can be reached in less than three minutes via a nearby footpath with steps.

The same route also leads towards Tate St Ives, making the cottage especially convenient for guests wanting to combine beach days with the town's art and culture.

St Ives Harbour, Fore Street, galleries, independent shops, bakeries, restaurants and pubs are also only a few minutes' walk away.

The location offers a good balance of being close to central St Ives while remaining slightly removed from the busiest streets.

Parking

Guests have use of one allocated parking space approximately a six to eight-minute walk from the cottage.

Once parked, the beaches, harbour and town centre are all close enough to explore comfortably on foot.

Access

Tinhay is arranged over three floors.

The kitchen, dining area, living room and additional shower room are on the ground floor.

A staircase leads to the first floor, where the king-size bedroom, double bedroom and family bathroom are located.

A further staircase leads to the top-floor principal bedroom and its en-suite shower room.

The footpath to Porthmeor Beach and Fore Street also includes steps, so guests should be comfortable with stairs and changes in level during their stay.

We had an amazing stay at Tinhay, its beautifully presented inside and the out side space is a real bonus in St Ives. I have been holidaying in St Ives for 30 years or so and I would have no hesitation staying at Tinhay again. Many thanks Tom

The house was nicely decorated and up to date, including a chest of 'beach stuff'. You could immediately head out. Everything is walkable within a (often steep) 10 minutes.

What a house Tinhay is! We have had the most wonderful holiday in this lovely home. The layout of the house is perfect with it's contemporary design and restful decor. The french doors leading from the living area to the outside space add to the relaxed vibe. Everything you could need is provided. Brilliant that it is dog friendly too! We've been holidaying in St Ives for the past 15 years and it is one of the best properties we have stayed in. Thank you so much. We will be back soon.

We had a lovely stay . Great property , well equipped and a high standard of furnishings and equipment in the house. Plenty of room for six of us to relax and also have our own space , lovely garden for outside dining . A real home from home . The APP was great had all the info you needed for the property and having a key safe was so much easier than collecting keys .

We had a lovely week staying at Tinhay. A group of 5 adults - 2 couples plus 1 mum & 1 dog. The house worked really well & we would stay again. It was very quiet & peaceful, (apart from the unavoidable seagulls!), But a very short stroll & you're in the heart of St Ives. The outside space is perfect for coffee on sunny mornings or early evening drinks. The downstairs area is a great layout for dogs. The allocated parking space is a real bonus in St Ives. Towels, bedding etc all felt like good quality.

We had a fantastic few days in St Ives visiting the food festival. Tinhay was the perfect place to stay. Out of the hustle and bustle of the town. The house had everything that you could wish for. We cooked a couple of meals from scratch in Tinhay, which was great, had all the equipment we needed. The bed on the top floor was very comfy. Would definately return. There is nothing not to like

This is our second stay at Tinhay and 12 months on the property remains as clean, well maintained and welcoming as the first visit. The unexpected warm spring weather allowed us to enjoy sitting in the garden/ patio area which was a joy. The property is perfectly located for all that St. Ives has to offer from fabulous beaches to a flat white. OrangeRoofs were excellent to deal with and clearly operate a very effective business. Thank you to all concerned.

Gorgeous views from super comfortable bedrooms. The kitchen is really well equipped if you're planning a longer stay and we really enjoyed the selection of board games, the dining area and comfy sofa on some wet and windy winter evenings. Fab location too.

We've been staying in St Ives for many years now but must say that Tinhay is by far the best accommodation we have stayed at. Beautifully presented, great space, everything you could possibly need included with the house. We hope to stay again next year.

Lovely home away from home! Tinhay is super stylish and very comfortable for a family holiday. It is so well equipped for self catering, plus games, books, wifi, beach accessories - everything you need. The location is fantastic, just a few minutes walk to the beautiful beaches; galleries and shops, all really convenient, as long as you are ready for walking up and down some steep hills. The sea views from the bedrooms are wonderful and the garden is a sheltered suntrap from morning until early evening. The owners have taken great care in the furnishings, fittings and maintenance and the house was spotlessly clean. We'd love to go back next year!

We have had a fantastic week in St Ives this Easter staying in Tinhay. Cricket on the beach, walkies around the island, a challenging walk to the Tinners in Zennor and fun nights out in Bier Haus, Porthminster, beer and bird and The sloop all highlights. Tinhay has been a cosy, clean, welcoming space in between, with a large open plan sitting room, dining area and everything we could need and more in the kitchen, where we were also left a lovely set of goodies to enjoy. The beds were all comfortable, clean and fresh and the roll top bath and two large powerful showers a delight. All the communication from orange roofs before, during and after our stay has been clear and easy and we would like to thank all the staff and the family for lending us their home from home for the week. We hope to stay again.

Orange Roofs get a gold star from us. Staff helpful and quick to reply to our queries.
Stayed in Tinhay in St Ives, lovely house, patio garden, comfy sofa, we slept in the master at the top of the house, beds( twins pushed together) exceptionally comfortable.
We were out most days, but there were a couple of times we had to work and had no problems with WiFi.
Our dog welcome, bowls supplied.

Fantastic house! We loved our stay. Tinhay was a very comfortable house, lovely outdoor space fabulous views and had everything we needed. Parking space at the Rugby club was very useful. Welcome pack was great! We will definitely return. **Management Comment: Dear guests, please note that the allocated parking space for Tinhay has moved from the St Ives Rugby Club to Westward Road on Porthmeor Hill**

Our stay at Tinhay was wonderful, the house was super clean and beautifully presented when we arrived. Easy to find and access, all the home comforts we could have needed and plenty of room, at first we wondered if using the parking spot at the rugby club might be inconvinient and if we would be better off trying to park closer but actually it was perfect, the walk was pleasant and just another hill to get there, we had forgetton how much climbing there was to do in St Ives, as you meader around discovering all it has to offer, but then the ice creams and fish and chips are all guilt free!!! The views and sounds from across the harbour from the upsatirs rooms are beautiful, access to all the beaches, museums and shops from the house is easy, withthe wonderful Barbara Hepworth museum being more or less at the bottom of the road.
Even before we arrived to our holiday home, Orange Roof made the experience enjoyable with lots of information, making sure we had all the details we needed - without even asking. We would definitley book with Orange Roof again and not hesitate to stay at Tinhay.

Amazing place to stay, very homely, comfortable and clean. Great position not in the noise of the town, but not far to walk. Milk, butter and many items left for us to start our holiday, cannot fault anything about Tinhay, can't wait to stay again!! Loved every minute. Thank you

We had a wonderful stay at Tinhay, the cottage was absolutely stunning and felt so homely!

Beautiful views of the sea and tucked away on a lovely little street (lovely and peaceful) we really enjoyed our stay it was well equipped for us as a group of 7 and it was a quick walk into the town / beach (the hill will have you working the muscles)

We will definitely be returning!

Big thanks again x

Tinhay is absolutely stunning. It is bright and airy and real luxury from the well equipped kitchen to the really comfy beds. The sun is on the lovely little garden morning and evening and it is a stones throw to Porth Meor and the town (up a good hill). Absolutely enjoyed our stay but not just the house itself, Orange Roofs have been amazing and I could not recommend them more.

We had a wonderful stay in Tinhay. The shower in the utility area is a god send following a day on the beach! Has everything you need, beautiful view in the en-suite bedroom overlooking the sea. Not far to Porthmeor beach (surf beach) or into town for lovely restaurants, shops and bars, just beware of the big climb up the hill afterwards! Good supply of beach equipment for kids. Would recommend to any family coming St Ives.

Tinhay was amazing and the pictures from Orange roofs really didn't do it justice. Everything was of extremely high quality and the 3 storey house had been very well thought out. The view from the master bedroom was unbelievable. Even though there was no parking, dropping off suitcases and picking them up at the end of the holiday wasn't a problem. The location was perfect as it gave you some much needed exercise after all the food but was close enough to just pop to the beach or into town My only bit of feedback is it could do with a outside hose to wash down the wetsuits ( the downstairs washroom is great but then you have to drag your wet wetsuit through the house to hang out ) and a washing line to be able to hang clothes out We will definitely be using orange roofs again for all of the above and their brilliant communication

Amazing house. Loved the views and the garden terrace. We loved our stay at Tinhay. Loved the location, loved the garden, and loved the views. The big bath was great too. The open plan living area is a great size and bedrooms felt very comfortable. We will definitely come back.

We've just had a wonderful week in beautiful Tinhay. Everything about the house felt special - it was clean, fresh, beautifully decorated & very welcoming and full of lovely touches (the fluffiest towels, comfiest beds, wonderful views & very well equipped). We couldn't have wished for a nicer place to spend our holiday, would absolutely recommend. We also found OrangeRoofs a very friendly, helpful company to book through. It all made our latest St. Ives holiday very memorable.
