Step straight from the cobbled pedestrian lane into the characterful ground-floor kitchen, where slate flooring, open shelving, handcrafted wooden cabinetry and a cement worktop create an authentic St Ives cottage feel.

The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and under-counter fridge with freezer compartment. A Le Creuset stovetop kettle is provided for making tea and coffee, while an AEG washing machine is tucked neatly into an understairs cupboard.

The dining area has a table with two benches seating up to four guests, making this a relaxed space for breakfast before the beach or an evening meal at home.

Living

The first-floor living room is a comfortable and cosy space in which to relax after a day exploring St Ives.

A large sofa wraps around the room, providing plenty of space for reading, unwinding or watching the Smart TV. Guests can log into their own streaming apps to enjoy favourite programmes and films.

A small selection of games, including Scrabble and Guess Who?, is also provided.

Please note that the sofa seat cushions contain feather filling, so the property is not suitable for guests with a severe feather allergy.

Bedrooms

Both bedrooms are located on the second floor.

The main bedroom has a king-size bed beneath a beautiful loft-style ceiling with exposed wooden rafters and Velux windows. There is a built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and a window seat.

The second bedroom has a bunk arrangement comprising a 4ft small double bed on the bottom and a 3ft single bunk above. Storage is provided by a chest of drawers and wooden hanging pegs.

The layout works particularly well for a couple or small families looking for a central St Ives beach cottage.

Bathrooms

5 Bethesda Hill has two bathrooms.

On the ground floor is a bathroom with a smaller-than-standard bath and rain shower over, along with a wash basin, WC and large heated towel radiator. A stained-glass window and feature wooden wall add to the cottage's individual character.

The second bathroom is on the top floor and is reached by a few steps down from the landing. It has a large walk-in shower, wash basin, WC and heated towel radiator.

Outdoor Space

5 Bethesda Hill does not have a private garden or terrace, but its location puts you within seconds of the harbourfront and beaches.

The cottage sits on a quiet, pedestrian-only cobbled lane in the historic Downalong area, offering a peaceful position despite being right in the centre of St Ives. It has its own bench outside the cottage where you can sit and relax taking in the local sights and sounds.

With the harbour, Porthmeor Beach and The Wharf so close, the town itself effectively becomes your outdoor space.

Parking

Guests have use of one allocated parking space at St Ives Rugby Club, approximately a 20-minute walk from the cottage.

This allows you to leave the car parked during your stay and explore central St Ives on foot.

Shuttle buses operate between the Rugby Club car park and Porthmeor Beach during the main holiday season, making travelling between the parking area and the cottage more convenient.

Dog-Friendly

One exceptionally well-behaved small adult dog weighing no more than 10kg is welcome at 5 Bethesda Hill.

Guests bringing a dog should provide their own dog bed, towels and throws, and dogs must be well behaved and well mannered within the cottage and public areas.

The central location also makes it easy to head straight out on foot for walks around St Ives and along the surrounding coastline.

Close to Beach

The location of 5 Bethesda Hill is one of its greatest advantages.

St Ives Harbour Beach is approximately 30 seconds from the front door, while Porthmeor Beach is less than a two-minute walk away.

The Wharf, Smeaton's Pier and Fore Street are also just moments away, putting independent shops, galleries, cafés, restaurants and bars within very easy walking distance.

For guests wanting a holiday where the car can stay parked and almost everything can be reached on foot, 5 Bethesda Hill is ideally positioned.

Access

5 Bethesda Hill is a traditional three-storey St Ives cottage with stairs throughout.

The kitchen, dining area and one bathroom are on the ground floor. The living room is on the first floor, while both bedrooms and the second bathroom are on the top floor.

As is typical of an older St Ives cottage, floors, walls and levels are not always perfectly even, and there are several internal steps, including steps down from the top-floor landing into the bathroom and second bedroom.

The property is therefore not suitable for guests who may find stairs or changes in level difficult.
