Enys Cottage in St Ives enjoys an enviable location in the town known to the locals as Downlong, just in behind the cosy harbour beach on which we enjoyed our sunny day breakfasts and afternoon cream tea's and a short walk around the headland to Porthgwidden beach. The cottage is immaculately presented, with every thought given to making our fortnights stay as comfortable as possible. The house itself arranged on 3 floors, ground, first and second has been fitted out and refurbished beautifully, with new sliding casement window's to bring in that wonderful sea air and with crafted timber shutters to close out the fading light at bed time.
We arrived mid-afternoon, just as the cleaners had completed a thorough cleaning of the interior and we couldn't fault their hard work and industry, with spare loo rolls and extra touches such as milk in the fridge and even complimentary scones jam and cream for our first taste of Cornwall. The bedding was super comfy and with down filled quilts and ample plump pillows to aid a restful sleep after our busy days exploring the outstanding coastline and moorland of the west Cornwall peninsular. Anyone with a keen eye on the exquisite furnishings will note that many have been sourced locally including the excellent thestivesco skyline range from the local shop in the town operated by three local sisters.
From advice we received ahead of our stay from the owners, we had booked car parking in the nearby Island Car park, for around £25 for the week, for a permit from the council, which was excellent value. Guest facilities such as Wi-Fi, the electric power showers in each of the en-suite bedrooms and the blue tooth speaker were excellent, together with a fully fitted out kitchen and dining space with Induction hob, oven and microwave, ample refrigeration, tea and coffee pots, Nespresso coffee maker and even a juicer for our morning oranges.
I've been a regular visitor to St Ives now for over 40 years since I was a kid and can honestly attest to it being one of our most enjoyable holidays ever, at which we were joined separately by both my daughter and eldest son. Enys cottage provided us with the ideal base to spend such essential family time and truly enriched our stay in the town, we wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to others.

We have stayed in many holiday homes over the years but Enys Cottage is by far the best we have ever stayed in. The location was absolutely perfect for beaches, drinks in The Sloop or shopping. The cottage has been renovated to such a high standard with lovely bathrooms, bedrooms and living area. The Cornish tea and gorgeous M&S hand wash and hand cream was very much appreciated. The cottage also had plenty of spaces for storage and an outside area to dry off wet suits. Thank you x

Thank you for a great stay at Enys Cottage was perfect for our Christmas break. The location was amazing, 20 seconds walk to the closest beach and 2 minutes walk to all the restaurants and pubs. I've stayed in St Ives for Christmas for around 8 years now and your property is hands down the nicest. Finished to a high standard and very homely. We will be staying again

We had a lovely break away at Enys cottage, St Ives. The cottage
has been recently renovated to a very high standard, the beds are
so comfortable we slept like babies, the bathrooms and kitchen just
shout "class". The open plan layout downstairs has made the most of
a small quaint cottage and given it a modern feel whilst still
feeling really cosy. Location wise is perfect. A 2 minute walk and
you are at the harbour where all the bars and restaurants are,
don't be put off by that though, the cottage is tucked away enough
to be peaceful, quiet and relaxed.
We would highly recommend this high end holiday let that the owner
has obviously put a lot of love into. We hope to book again
soon.

What an amazing few days we spent in Enys Cottage! It has been beautifully renovated with such care and attention to detail; it felt like staying in a boutique hotel. The cottage is in a brilliant location - a stone's throw from the harbour...we loved our morning strolls with the thermos mugs. We spent so much time on Porthmeor beach where the waves were fantastic for body boarding, loved seal spotting round at Porthgwidden and paddle boarding in the harbour. The cottage is so well equipped with everything we needed to cook at home, but also close enough to some lovely bars and restaurants for those nights when we fancied eating out. The family-sized sofa was the perfect place to chill out in the evenings and watch a movie together. We slept really well and have come home to buy ourselves a feather duvet! It's the little touches that make this such a special place to stay. We felt very lucky to be some of the first guests and can't wait to return soon. Our new favourite St Ives home-from-home!
