Things to do this Easter in St Ives

So, you've finally made it to the beautiful seaside resort of St Ives for your Easter break. The weather may not always play ball, but that certainly shouldn't dampen your holiday spirit as there's a plethora of things to keep you occupied this Easter.

Whether you are here as a family with children, as a couple, with friends or even on your own, there’s plenty here for everyone.

You might be able to get your beach blankets out, in between the showers, but the beauty of St Ives is that the views can be enjoyed and appreciated whatever the weather.

Besides the many restaurants lining the waterfront, where you can while away an afternoon over some delicious food and wine, there’s also other ways that you can enjoy the view.

Carbis Bay Hotel boasts an award-winning spa, complete with heated outdoor pool and hydrotherapy pool. Family, partner, friends; whomever you’re holidaying with, Carbis Bay Hotel & Spa is a great place to eat, drink, swim and relax whilst enjoying the spectacular views across Carbis Bay.

For those of you who take an interest in art and culture then no doubt you are already well aware of just how many galleries and artist studios there are in St Ives.  Starting with the most famous gallery of all, the Tate.  Situated in front of the glorious Porthmeor beach, the Tate Gallery promises art-lovers a truly inspiring day out. Children can also enjoy the Tate with “The Wallpaper Caper” this Easter, where the whole family can have fun designing and printing their own wallpaper, inspired by the new Virginia Woolf exhibition. What’s more, admission is free!

Leach Pottery is also hosting an exhibition this Easter with “Reunion: Potters from the time of Bernard Leach” which showcases works from potters who trained and worked during the time of Bernard Leach.

For those of you who love a bit of live music then The Kettle ‘n’ Wink on Gabriel Street has a great itinerary of music from Country to Jazz and an Open Mic Songwriters night. What better, after a nice meal and a bottle of wine, than to lift up your spirits and let down your hair to some music performed by local Cornish talent? Looking at trying some Cornish water sports this Easter? Firstly, you’re brave, and secondly no problem! St Ives has its very own surf school that offers surf lessons, stand up paddle boarding, sea kayaking and coasteering activities. There really is nothing more invigorating than pulling on a wetsuit and launching yourself head first in to the beautiful ocean. An activity that can be enjoyed come rain or shine, why not head over to the St Ives Surf School website to book your activity today: www.stivessurfschool.co.uk.

These are just a few of the fantastic things that are on this Easter in St Ives. However, you may just want to put your feet up and indulge in some unadulterated rest and relaxation whilst soaking up the sound of the waves, or amble gently along the cobbled streets and have a mooch in the many and varied shops.

No matter what your holiday agenda is, we know you won’t go home disappointed by the enchanting, vibrant and sublime St Ives.
