A contemporary-style pizzeria and brasserie; inside The Terrace restaurant has a distinct Mediterranean feel with a fun friendly atmosphere, plus to the rear, there is a covered waterside terrace where you can enjoy alfresco dining with a view.

The Terrace prides itself on sourcing all meats and vegetables in Cornwall, their pizzas are handmade using fresh dough. The Terrace has an accompanying wine list to complement its menu, along with beers and soft drinks.

A family run business in Central Hayle, The Thai Chef looks to provide you with an intimate Thai dining experience.

Specialising in Thai cuisine only using locally sourced fresh ingredients, they create their own sauces and mixed spices every day using family recipes. The Thai Chef only serves non-alcoholic drinks, however, you are welcome to bring your own!

Delicious Yallah coffee, tasty bakes, wholesome food and all right next to Godrevy Beach!

Godrevy Cafe is located at National Trust’s Godrevy car park so there is ample parking (paid if you are not a NT member of course!) with outdoor picnic benches and indoor seating on two floors so sat next to the window you enjoy inspirational views. Well-behaved dogs on leads are allowed at the outdoor picnic benches and there are public loos also. The beach is a short walk away along a boardwalk through the sand dunes.

Chandler’s Plaice Fish and Chip Shop in Hayle, Cornwall, is a family-run business which first opened in February 2014. Situated in the centre of Hayle and close to the A30, there is ample street parking to pay a visit.

Chandler’s Plaice serves traditional fish and chips, which include; Cod, Haddock, Plaice and Scampi. As well as pies, chicken and various burgers in a bun and a selection of crisp battered items including sausages, fritters and onion rings. As an alternative to their crispy battered fish, try their popular steamed cod with a wedge of lemon (we did and it was delicious!)

A relaxed bar and restaurant, Salt Kitchen Bar is a great spot for casual dining and drinks.

Decorated with a warm rustic feel, Salt Kitchen Bar features exposed brick, warm overhead lighting and a nautical-themed bar, but with a modern finish. Looking to experience some nightlife? Salt Kitchen Bar often hosts live music, quiz nights and evening events, perfect for those looking for an evening out for a few drinks as well as eating out. Looking down over Gwithian, the Jampot is an unconventional Cornish tea room, located in a round hut historically used as a coastguard lookout!

This rustic style cafe is more on the quirky side, however, with plenty of outdoor seating, the Jampot Cafe is a great spot for a Cream Tea with a sea view. Serving light bites and a selection of homemade cakes, cosy up in the Jampot next to the fire with one of their hot water bottles on a cold winter’s day or relax in the Jampot garden after a morning sunning on the sand. There is only limited indoor seating so do be prepared if visiting in the colder months!

A seasonal location found on Hayle South Quay, the Black Lobster can be found just off the Asda main car park in Hayle.

With plenty of picnic benches on the nearby grass, lit up by reels of outdoor string lights during the evening, this location also hosts various local live music performers for evening events. Offering takeaway seafood dishes, tacos and tapas using local fresh ingredients, is there a better place to enjoy lobster than in Cornwall next to the ocean?

One for Indian cuisine fans, the Grameen Tandoori is a modern and welcoming Indian restaurant just off the Hayle Quay.

The restaurant has intimate booth seating as well as large party tables, lit with ambient lighting offering a friendly atmosphere. Serving a range of Indian, Balti and Bangladeshi inspired dishes, the Grameen also has a licenced bar serving Indian beers and a selection of wine. If you want to enjoy a meal from the comfort of your holiday home, the Grameen also offers takeaway.

Found within Foundry Square, this small cabin takeaway called Loaded offers big flavours of street food!

Although primarily takeaway, Loaded have an eccentric colourful outdoor sun terrace, perfect for enjoying your food on a beautiful day. With Street Food style offerings such as tacos, filled bagels and superfood Poke bowls all made from fresh local ingredients, these colourful dishes are truly Instagram-worthy. Also selling delicious homemade cakes and fresh Yallah roasted coffee, you can take away and enjoy a tasty treat on the seafront.

Harry’s is a Spanish style restaurant and bar serving the freshest of fish, imported Mediterranean meats and cheeses, and wines from all over Spain and beyond.

Harry’s is a licensed Spanish style restaurant/bar offering a variety of fresh, homemade and interesting foods using local fish and produce along with traditional products imported from Spain. Their menu is small and ever-changing – from pintxos and tapas to paella and larger plates, come try something new. They have sherry, wine, cava, beer and cider from across Spain. Being a Bodega, you can pop in for a bottle of wine to take home too!

The home of Hayle’s famous artisan ice cream, Mr. B’s Ice cream. This family-run business creates a range of Italian gelato, currently having around 200 flavours in their recipe book!

Usually holding around 16 flavours at a time in the shop, these regularly change, ensuring you a new flavour to try on each visit! Mr B’s also offers a range of other tasty desserts, including ice cream cakes, fudge and waffles. Their retro-feel ice cream parlours have a small amount of indoor seating where you can enjoy your favourite flavour along with a beverage, or takeaway to enjoy on the quay with a sea view.

Just off of Hayle quay front, Lewy’s Fish and Chips is a traditional fish and chip takeaway shop.

Serving up a classic fish and chip shop menu, Lewys sources its fresh fish from the Newlyn fish market, allowing them to add specials based on the catch of the day.  Additionally, Lewys also offers a brunch menu, made up of a variety of breakfast bap options. With no indoor dining, you will find plenty of public bench seating across the road overlooking the Quay!

Open Tuesday to Saturday 4.30 pm to 8 pm – they will even bater your pasty for you if you fancied!

A traditional Cornish pub that has been beautifully renovated whilst still keeping its charm, The Cornish Arms is a lovely spot for a pub meal or a few drinks in their beautiful beer garden.

Their menu consists of pub classics with a twist, made with fresh locally sourced and quality produce, as well as some Canadian snacks inspired by the landlord’s travels. The outdoor beer garden is thoughtfully landscaped with Cornish grasses and flowers, a covered area and an additional outdoor bar, serving some special Hayle-themed Artisan Cocktails. Is there anything more Cornish than a pasty? Philps pasties is a family-run business that is famous far and wide for its pasties.

Traditionally made at their bakery with locally sourced ingredients, Philps pasties have been accredited by the Cornish Pasty Association and their traditional Cornish Pasty recipe hasn’t changed since 1958. Alongside their pasties is a range of freshly baked rolls for filled sandwiches, homemade cakes and confectionery. Offering takeaway only, Philps does have some outdoor quayside bench seating or find a beauty spot nearby to enjoy.

A great place to stop after a walk on the Towans, The Bucket of Blood is a traditional Cornish pub named after an old well previously on the grounds in which the water was red as tainted with tin.

Inside the Bucket of Blood has an authentic feel of times gone by, with exposed wood beams and pine decor. Outside there is additional seating to enjoy a cold pint during warmer months. The menu consists of typical pub classics, alongside a selection of on-tap beer and ales, wines and spirits.

As ‘field to plate’ as you can get, Trevaskis Farm restaurant is located within the farm grounds on which its produce is grown!

With scenic views of the Cornish Countryside, as well as access to the farmland, you can explore the grounds and visit the animals who are reared on-site, making Trevaskis Farm an experience beyond your meal. The restaurant itself is rustic and homely, with warm woods and pine. Outside you will find a large patio area with plenty of seating to enjoy during warmer days.
